Bagopedia's Comment:  Bagopedia was looking forward to seeing this collection since the project was announced. It was very disappointing to see the first photo a couple of months ago.


Bagopedia was invited to New York to attend the opening of the Soho Pop-Up Store event last week. The Pop-Up store in Soho features all the Louis Vuitton Yayoi Kusama collection.  The store is attached to the Soho store. I have to say that I am not crazy about the collection. It is cleaver to cross-over with artists to create an amazing collection. However, this collection isn't amazing. It makes me dizzy as soon as I walked into the Soho store. 


I am not sure this collection works for me. The items haven't been crazily taken like Louis Vuitton did with other artists. That tells you something not working for this project.

Bagopedia's Comment:  It is hard not to compare this tote with the Louis Vuitton Neverfull. The Neverfull GM is priced at $900.00. This MC tote is an equal size and priced at $510.00.


Bagopedia doesn't know anyone who doesn't have a Neverfull. If you don't want to carry the same tote as other people, you can consider this one as MCM slowly comes back.

Bagopedia's Comment: I don't a Sofia Coopola bag because personally I find it a bit smaller than what I'd like for a bag. The SC PM is only 30 CM wide which is smaller than a 30 CM Birkin due to the zipper. I haven't seen this bag until yesterday when I was picking up the sunglasses that I ordered at the LV store.


There was a happy customer who was lucky enough to get this bag. Trust me, the photo doesn't tell the truth of the color which is much lighter than the picture. The color looks like a cool pool water in the summer. I just haven't seen any color that is as gorgeous!


I told my LV SA that I was surprised that I missed this bag which is features on the model of the cruise line 2012 ad. I immediately ordered it. I know it will come. I just don't know how long I have to wait which kills me now!

Bgopedia's Comment: The Louis Vuitton new Saumur bag, in collaboration with Sofia Coppola, introduced with the collection of the Cruise line 2012, is a really good example of modernizing a classic bag. With tanned leather, cut-through Monogram and a blue trim, I a totally sold!

Bagopedia read an article from the New York Times about a couple who had a divorce party to celebrate their divorce. They thought both of their lives would be happier if they got a divorce. Bagopedia also likes to have a divorce to Louis Vuitton after seeing this bag. Bagopedia visited a Louis Vuitton store last week and saw this bag. It was uglier than the photo. It is a very limited production and yet available for the public. You can figure out why.

Bagopedia remembers those days that you needed to kiss the SA's ass if you wanted to have a limited bag. Time has changed. LV limited bags are not so desirable anymore. For Bagopedia, Givenchy is nice. HERMES is nice. Goyard is nice. Many bags are nice. My life will be happier without Louis.

It comes with natural cowhide leather trim and the strap. It also comes with much higher price, for example, the 25 CM, costs $315.00 more than the regular Speedy.

Bagopedia loves the Damier Azur pattern that gives a very modern and summery look. This bag has a good function but there is nothing beautiful about it. The leather part on top of the front with stamp even looks unfinished. Further more, this bag is listed at $1,200.00. Bagopedia thinks it is too high.

This is a timeless piece and will last for 50 years. HERMES really makes sure your money is worth it. It is a nice bag for errands. Bagopedia leaves it inside my large tote so I can take it to go to lunch. Easy access to your wallet, cell phone, and keys. There are 3 sizes- PM, MM, GM and many colors to choose from. It is a good investment.

Bagopedia's Comment: Bagopedia thinks these small evening bags are useless and expensive. This bag is the same size as a long wallet- same length, width, and depth. There is no room other than some bills, cards, and a mirror (comes with). This bag has no depth and can't even carry a lipstick or cell phone. Carrying your own Louis Vuitton wallet does the same trick and is less expensive.

Bagopeida's suggestion: Get an evening bag that is slightly bigger or a thicker hard-shell clutch.

It is kind of cheap and cheerful quick fix for their designers. However, as they small the bag from 33 CM to 25 CM, the handles, the clochette, and the Monogram pattern remain the same size. It looks like a baby with adult's eye, mouth, arms, and legs.

Since she is still shooting the new LV fall/winter 2011-12 campaign, we are not sure which bag is going to be featured. Angie has a love for top short handle totes. We have shown you that she carried a Chole and a Valextra Tote before.

Bagopedia has this bag for more than 20 years. I still use it. I carried it for my piano books. Now I used it to carry my computer and magazines for traveling. It goes with business and casual. You can't go wrong carrying this bag. However, I am not sure carrying to a high-end restaurant like Jolie did. This is also an amazing bag for wines. It fists 4 bottles- perfect for carrying to a summer night party.
