Bagopedia's Comment: As my local government decided to banned plastic bags, Bagopedia is a huge supporter for the ban. In Europe, plastic bags are not very common like North America. Bagopedia has spotted women carrying bags like this one. They stop by the local stores to pick up things before going home from works.

Bagopedia loves the print. The most similar one I have seen is the HERMES which cost more than a thousand dollars. This bag isn't designed for grocery. It is handy to pick up things on the way home from work. I also love to use it for traveling. Sometimes I love a break carrying a extremely light-wieghted bag from my Birkin.

Bagopedia's Comment: Bagopedia has just started reviewing the fall winter bags. I am happy to see them so far. The first one that caught my eyes is this Alexander McQueen bag. 


I love the shine on the leather. Only good quality leather can give a good shine. So the first impression is good. The design is unique and modern but still keeps the elegance. That is what I like about McQueen. It is modern yet practical. I love the flap and I think that is the sale point. I was afraid the flap can cause difficulty when you need to access your items inside the bag since there are no outside pockets. However, the flap can be put inside the bag just like a Birkin. That way you don't have to close the bag entirely.


The price tag is not pretty but I think it is worth it.

The side zippers can be used as a Celine tote to enlarge the bag and change the shape.

Being a really lazy woman this summer wearing casual clothes and running between my house and my pool, Bagopedia decides to go for a little dressy and fancy this coming fall and winter. I really like the look of small hard-shelled leather shoulder bag. They go well with skirt suit types. They remind me of the flight attendant look of the 60's. I filtered all small shoulder bags and finalized 2 bags- Alex and Jason. Both have hard shells with smooth leather and great details. The prices are almost the same as well.

So... Do I go for the bag from a young talented American designer who is famous for his "Lady-like"look or a British legend who was famous for his "cutting-edge" look?

Bagopedia's Comment: Bagopedia knows a photos is worth 1,000 words. But sometimes, it doesn't justify a handbag. That makes shopping online really tricky.

This is not the very first bag everybody should have. This is the bag for a lady who knows exactly what she wants inside her bags. Bagopedia did not like this bag until I saw the real item (and I purchased it immediately). It fits my needs. I don't find many zipper or flap totes that come with high handle drops. I do really like to locate my tote on my shoulders sometimes but most of the zipper or flap totes don't allow me to do that. I also love the foldover corners. It is a signature of McQueen's design. The color is odd to look at now but will be a popular color for the coming fall and winter.

Bagopedia gained a lot of more respects for Alexander McQueen after seeing the "Savage Garden" exhibition at the Met last week. He was a true artist who put his arts through fashion. The faithful clutch is one of the last collection before he died. The whole collection was inspired by nature. This bag was inspired by a moth. It is a piece of art and a piece of fashion history. He was a genius.

However, it takes a second to destroy it. I always love Kate Hudson's handbags. She has a very unique style. It is always a treat when I see her photos. But I have to say NO NO NO to this bag. I am also surprised that McQueen even makes a bag like that. It is not a good sign when you are not in love with a bag at the first sight. There are too many unnecessary elements in the front. Not to mention a tote should make your life easier, not more difficult. I am a big believer that a tote should be clean and simple in the front. I think you can get a bag with a similar look from your local shopping mall for about $50.00.
