blessed

Hey everyone! I'm back after a way to long of break!! We are now all moved in and pretty much settled into our new house!! And got to say it feels so good to be back to crafting! Wasn't to sure how it would go! Well if I'm being honest I sure did get a lot of glue all over the place!!

This card is made for the Clean and Simple stamping blog. Make sure you go check it out cause we would sure love to see what you create!!

I really wanted to keep this card simple and I soooo wanted to use the new sketched roses background stamp from Impression Obsession. I stamped tone on tone for the back ground then added a little side panel with pink on white…wasn't to sure how it would turn out but I like it!! Die cut 3 blessed glued them together and of course had to add some glossy accents! Pretty straight forward card! Good one for my first in over a month I think!!

Anyway make sure to head on over to the clean and simple blog and show us your creations!!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

Hello embossing!

Hello everyone!! Hope everyone had a great week and is looking forward to a lovely weekend! I know we are! Nice and hot here!!

Todays card has a couple of inspirations. First off this weeks Clean and Simple sketch that I design for as well as this wonderful video from non only that Jennifer McGuire

This card took  me a few attempts…I was moving colours around to see what worked..then on this last one I decided to grab which ever ink was closest and work my way out! Turned out not to bad I don't think ;) There was really no rhyme or reason to where I stamped or decided to over lay I just went for it!! After all the stamping of the triangles was done I wanted to matt this piece so instead of digging through my stash of paper I decided to use the purple ink I had used in the triangles. So I got out an ink blending tool and inked up the sides of the paper then adhered the top piece. In the clean and simple sketch there is a bow over top of the sentiment..I wasn't really sure that a bow would work with the geometric look I had going on, so I grabbed my white twine and started wrapping a left over piece I had. Then added a small bow…now onto the sentiment. My first attempt at the sentiment it was grey and I heat embossed it with clear embossing powder, but once I had glued it onto the card it didn't pop again. And I used some pretty heavy duty adhesive so she wasn't coming off..so I took another die cut hello inked it black then did the same thing with the clear heat embossing and glued it on over. This card is also for the this weeks Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge. But when it was all put together I looked it over and thought it needed some more embossing to it! So I took out the single triangle stamp from the set and picked a few random ones to clear emboss over! Its a very subtle detail but I love when it sparkles in the daylight.

I hope you enjoy todays card! Thanks so much for stopping by

Sending love

I receive my July Simon Says card kit this week and I couldn't wait to dig in and share with you what I made…This is the first card I finished for this weeks Clean and Simple sketch. I also have some other projects on my desk in my craft studio awaiting me!! So stay tuned!!

For the bottom half of the card I drew a line with pencil where I wanted to separate the paper,  and then versa marked the envelopes on used white embossing powder and heated it up. After I was done getting all the envelopes on there I masked off with some washi tape where I drew the line. I pulled out some distress ink sponged it on with my distress tool. Once that was done I went over it with some old Stampin Up! shimmer paint I found (the sun shifted on me so hard to see that in the pic) mixed with water and dabbed on over the distress ink. Once it was dry I removed the tape, added my sentiment some rhinestones and was done!

Thats all for today! Thanks so much for stopping by!!!

butterfly collection

Have been home a few days now from another trip! When I returned my new Simon Says Stamp card kit for June was awaiting me!! So I pulled it out and created a couple of cards with it!! This first card here is actually my second attempt…I added a few more colours of ink to it and used one size of the rose instead of 2 like the bottom card!! I love how the colours flow into one another!

This card is this week Clean and Simple card, you can see I did a softer pallet with less colours. At first I wasn't a fan but it grew on me so I went with it!!

For both the cards I heat embossed the rose patter on the water colour card stock. First card is just one size and the FTL card has both rose sizes on it. After I heat embossed it I rubbed distress ink onto my craft matt and sprayed it with water then added the card front to it. The first card I twisted it around a bit where as the second card I just laid it down and left it that way. Did both just to see what I liked better! They are both nice but for different reasons I guess! Once the paper was dry I took a scrap piece of paper and a hot iron to remove the embossed areas. First time for me using this technique…I enjoyed it seeing as I wasn't to sure how to stamp the sentiment directly onto to the card front instead of having it be a banner of some sort!

These water colour techniques are so fun to do and give such a fun look to a card with very minimal effort!!

Hope you enjoy! Thanks so much fro stopping by!

all boy

I received my May Simon Says Stamp card kit on Friday and decided to pull it out and play!! I'm not the best at masculine cards as I much prefer flowers but this kit makes you dig deep for that masculine creation!! I used this weeks Clean and Simple sketch to get the creativity flowing!!

In this card kit came a distress ink (which is the only thing I didn't use from the kit, used a green distress ink from my stash) and the blender tool. I know I'm behind the 8 ball on this one but its seriously my new favourite tool!!! Go now and get one!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by!

splatter fun

This week I finally had some time to make a couple cards! I watched Papertrey Inks Make it Monday video and was inspired!! I pulled out some colours and went to town!!! My first creation using this technique was this card below...

I grabbed some bright colours…On the make it monday video they used a die cut inlay. A technique I have not yet tried so I put it to good use! Love how it turned out!! So much fun to  make!

Supplies:
Paper: melon mambo, white
Ink: calyso coral, melon mambo, rose red
Stamps: wonderful words birthday mini
Accessories: birthday die, paint brush and water, sponge daubers

Next up I made this card….

This weeks Clean and Simple sketch screamed out to me! Love this layout…a go to for me! I decided to flip in on its side tho, still using the make it monday technique. However with the water droplets on this card I did at random by putting water on the brush and flicking it as opposed to being purposeful to where I was adding the water. This beautiful colour combo comes from this weeks Colour Me…!  challenge, they blended together so nicely (after a few tries of course)..The sentiment was heat embossed in white then I stamped the feather behind the three window boxes which goes along side the CAS-ual Friday challenge. Then I popped up the coloured paper to five some dimension. So many quick details to give it that pretty look!!!

Supplies:
Paper: white
Ink: bermuda bay, coastal cabana, pacific point, tempting turquoise, versa mark
Stamps: fancy feathers
Accessories: white embossing powder, square punch, paint brush with water

Hope you enjoy and thanks so much for stopping by!

Here are a couple of variations I made for it…

And the second card I realized I had bought the purple paper a couple months ago and hadn't opened it yet…a good excuse for both creations I think!!

FTL 256

Well I'm back after a very busy summer away! Its so nice to be home sweet home....and an almost done craft space??? Oh yes!! I sat in there for a couple hours yesterday amongst the chaos of it all! Now to paint some of the furniture pieces that need to go in there then organize organize organize!! But I must say its good to not me crafting at a table in my master bedroom anymore! Think my husband is more happy about that than me as my table was on his side of of the bed....he often found beautiful paper scraps all over the place!!!

So the first card I'm going to post for you is my Clean and Simple card for this weeks challenge! I've sure missed contributing so its nice to be back!!!

For this card I was stamping with some friends and we had made some shimmer mist! Hard to tell in the picture but I sprayed some on the black (it has a greenish hugh to it) and just some classic white shimmery on the white paper! This was one of the techniques from the Papertrey Ink Stamp-a-faire weekend!

Well thats all for today!! Hope you all had a great summer and if your kids aren't yet back to school a great back to school for them too!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

On your Birthday

Finally, after a busy weekend, birthday parties and sick kids I was able to do this weeks Clean and Simple Sketch. I had envisioned a different card than the one I created...but I'm sure that happens to many of you crafters out there.

I had originally used the matching dies and had all the banners cut out...but decided against it! Liked the stamped on paper look better!!
Have a great week everyone!
