193-195/365somethings2018

Who says that art supplies need to be expensive??
Below is a snapshot of some art supplies I bought at Action,
a shop comparable to the dollarstore for my American friends.
I only paid something like €5 for 6 bottles of inkspray and 8 paintmarkers 😁

One of the major advantage of cheap supplies
is the sense of freedom they give,
I am not afraid to use them
or experiment with them

dragonflies

Hello,
I'm back from a relaxing holiday in Greece, batteries fully recharged, the only downside I have after a while not crafting is finding my mojo back. This is my first piece I made in a couple of weeks

This is my calendar entry for June at The Craft Barn where we needed to use lavender and dragonflies.
I started by stamping dragonflies randomly on my page and heatembossing it in white. Next I sprayed with aftermidnight Dylusions spray

The white lines were not supposed to happen, those are the edge of my acrylic block, oops, but I actually like the effect. I searched for a quote with dragonflies and found this one:
May you touch dragonflies and stars, dance with fairies and talk to the moon.
Now I knew which direction this page needed to go, so I added gold star stickers, stamped a fairy couple and stamped and cut the moon out of a sun stamp and gave her red glossy lips. Because the blue was not really lavender I made a tag using a tag from clothes, painted it lavender, stamped a frame and wrote the quote in it and added a lavender bow, so I can also enter this for the weekly Craft Barn Challenge.

change

It’s so inspiring each time to see all the other great designs in the Q&L Challenge over at the Craft Barn (click here to see for yourself) and to receive honest and motivating comments.
Thanks to all who take the time to visit my blogspot and leave a comment, truly appreciated.

For challenge #7 we were given the words change and/or truth, I came across this quote: "if nothing changes there would be no butterflies"
No doubt possible that that was the quote for me.

Recently I bought these coasters

I didn't buy them to put glasses on however, but to use them as stencils.
And this works very well indeed.

I added some stamping, also using the coasters this time as a stamp.
Last week me and my 4-year old son did some stamping with corks, and I discovered I liked the texture, so I made these acrylic flowers with them.
Added a flock of butterflies and then I just needed to add the quote, I had cleaned of the coasters after spraying on a piece of scrap and believe it or not but the petals were just the right amount for the words of the quote. As finishing touch a button in the centre  of the flower and done.

sunset city skyline

I started this page last night and am overwhelmed with the result so far.
So much that I need to go to the art supply store and get me a rectangular shaped canvas to put this on, that's how much I like it.

I'm guessing this is gonna be one of those pages of procrastination :-)

Birthday calendar - September

For the month September I used a technique that is so simple but gives magnificent results.
Just spray some different colors sprayink  ( I used some of my homemade shimmerpaints: paint/water/perfect pearls by Ranger) on a piece of cardstock

lay a piece of cling film over it and wrinkle it

Peal of the cling film and dab of the excess paint with kitchenpaper ( repeat the process if necessary):

I just love how it looks like marble.

Just LOVE those butterflies!!!
