Ondeh-ondeh, my style!

记忆中的ondeh-ondeh(左)和现实中的ondeh-ondeh(右)

对我来说,做糕点比写食谱容易;
每次要写食谱头脑里就会出现‘混杂’的语言,所以很少写食谱。
对在多语言环境下长大的人,不是样样语言都掌握的好,也可以说是自己没有用功的结果!

材料A:
250 gm gula Melaka or gula Jawa, finely chopped
4 Tb. of sugar
8 Tb. of water
1 packet of shredded/grated coconut
1/2 tsp. of salt
5-6 pandan leaves
1 T plain flour + 2 T water

方法:
1. 先把椰丝炒香,待用。
2. Blend pandan leaves with water, sieve, then add in gula jawa and sugar. Boil and sieve.
3. Pour coconut in, add in salt and mix well.
4. Add in flour mixture, mix well and off fire. Cool it.
材料B:
200 gm steamed mashed sweet potato
500 gm glutinous rice flour
2 T pandan juice
some pandan paste
enough water

方法:
Mix all the ingredients, make a soft dough and roll in them into small balls.
Bring a pot of water to boil. Cook the glutinous rice balls in the boiling water.
When the rice balls float to the surface, remove them with a slotted spoon and shake off the excess water.
Mix or coat the rice balls with the cooked shredded coconut. Serve immediately.

韩式”菜心“ Chayote in Korean Style

1st Recipe for 2010:
Ingredient A: Cut into cube or slices,
Chayote, Onion, Green or Red Chilli (here I use Jalapeno),
Optional: Carrot, Celery, etc. Your choice! (Basically any "crispy" or crunchy vegetable can do)

Ingredient B: Seasoning sauce
1 cup light soy sauce
1 cup water
1 cup vinegar
half cup sugar (I use brown sugar)

Rolling boil B and pour it into A. Let it cool.
Ready to eat in 2-3 days. You can also store it in the fridge.
