Full Thrust Sa'Vasku Gallery

Not sure why these never got put up when I was doing painted galleries for the other Full Thrust factions years ago, but better late than never.  My Sa'Vasku collection was never very large, being restricted to a medium-sized raiding/interdiction fleet, so this gallery will be a less complete showcase for the range than the others with only five ship classes represented.  You can find the complete range here at Ground Zero Games' web store and their official stats in Fleet Book 2.

The complete force.

Shyy'Tha'Varr-class heavy strikeships with their spines slightly re-positioned - roughly equivalent to human battlecruiser classes

Var'Thee'Sha-class strikeships, roughly equal in mass to human escort cruisers

Vra'Kiir'Sha-class strikeships with minor added detailing, again roughly equivalent to escort cruisers in terms of mass

Fo'Vur'Ath-class destroyer equivalents

Custom battle damaged "drifting hulk" Shyy'Tha'Varr-class along with a Thy'Sa'Teth-class drone podship, roughly equivalent to a human escort carrier

Trinity Battleground Figure Gallery

Today's post is a bit of history from back in 1997, a partial gallery of painted figures for White Wolf's short-lived Trinity: Battleground miniatures game.  The figs were sculpted by Bob Naismith, and are fairly hard to come by these days thanks to the game's brief lifespan and limited production run.  My own collection of them was never complete by a long shot and these were all sold off almost a decade ago, but posting what images I do have might help collectors get a better idea of what they looked like.  You can find more complete (but unpainted) listings of the range at the Lost Minis wiki.

These figs are from the "Support Squad Dragon" pack, a set of five identical sculpts of close combat troops with armored cestuses.  They were painted up for the Supersystem minis game, with the one guy being a "Legion-class psionic" who created and army of "prismatic energy" duplicates of himself to do the fighting for him.  I lucked into rather a lot of these models in one big purchase when Alliance Distribution was liquidating the line following its cancellation.  Think I was paying under $2 a pack back around 2000 or 2001.

The large green beastie is the aberrant Gommora, who was sold both in blister packs cast in metal and in the core game cast in resin.  The pink one is (I think) Naushka (who was cast in metal and packaged with another aberrant called Drummach), and the little critters are Trogs, a support squad that was sold in packs of three in theory - pretty sure I had  acouple that contained 4 or 5 at random).

And yes, Naushka (or possibly Dummach) has a hole completely through its chest.  It's pretty freaky.

The large four-armed aberrant is Nazul, who was cast in both resin (in the starter box) and metal (as a solo blister).  His pal is Drummach (or possibly Naushka) from their shared blister pack, and there's another couple of sets of Trogs.

Drummach (or possibly Naushka) narrowly escaped re-purposing into astrofauna back in my Full Thrust days.  Makes a good space monster if you trim the base tab, do some drilling and stick it on a flight base.  Still rather regret not doing the conversion, but I've never found another copy of the model despite years of hunting.

Aside from still more Trogs, I believe the other three aberrants are Keeper, Sang and Luka, but I have no idea who's who.  They were sold in a single three-figure blister pack toward the end of the game's distribution, and are kind of ridiculously hard to find.  They're definitely not unreleased (I got mine in the store I was managing at the time and it came in from Alliance normally) but quite rare.

Scale shots with an old Vor: the Maelstrom neo-Soviet rad-trooper, who's pretty much as average a 28mm scale fig as it gets.  Bases are 25mm throughout.

Hope whoever bought these is still getting some use out of them.  They aren't the fanciest paint jobs I've ever done, but the sculpts are too quirky to be left on a shelf forever - or worse, wind up in a landfill.

Dropfleet Commander Kitbash: Fuel Tanker

Quick post to show off a kitbashed fuel tanker using some spare parts from the Dropfleet Commander range.  About 2.25"/6cm long and uses parts from two Shaltari cruiser sprues.  Very simple build and not the best paint job I've ever done, but I rather like the look.

Mounted on a 1" hex base, which are getting pretty rare at this point.  Apparently the last mold for making them finally died sometime during the COVID shutdown and have yet to be replaced, which makes me wonder if they'll ever be coming back.  They've been around for close to fifty years and not having them available any more feels kind of weird, although they were never my favorite style of flight base and there are certainly plenty of other options still on the market.

Privateer Press Cephalyx Monstrosities

Three Cephalyx monstrosities from Privateer Press's War Machine range.

Big chunk plastic models on 50mm bases.  Frostgrave wizard for scale - as you can see, they're huge.

The models share a common body, with the forearms and heads and some weapon parts differentiating them.  If you weren't using them for War Machine, the various arms could be mixed and matched however you desire - they all fit the same way, although the net launcher arm will only fit on the left side so its cable reel will connect properly.

This is the defensive Warden, with twin gripping claws.  A bit weak against heavy armor but also the most inexpensive monstrosity in the game.

The Subduer has a large blade and a net launcher, the only ranged weapon monstrosities carry.  Slightly more expensive than the Warden, hits harder, and has some nasty positioning tricks.

The Wrecker is the hardest hitting of its kind, and the most expensive in game.  It's quite strong against any target, and has a particularly nasty sweep attack.

Their size and "tormented test subject" look would make them good proxies for Dark Eldar grotesques over in Warhammer 40K, but they'd need to be stuck on 40mm bases instead of their normal 50mm ones.  Alternately, they could be left as-is and used as Chaos Spawn proxies.

Full Thrust: Foes of the Zedoss Monarchy

A small addition to my Zedoss Monarchy project from a few years, specifically adding a couple of capital ships to the Grand Combined Fleet of the Revolution forces.  The ships are kitbashed out of spare parts from the Dropfleet Commander Shaltari range.

Uskaro Gomee-class Battle Disc

The uskaro are a mysterious coalition of mutually symbiotic species from far beyond the borders of the former Zedoss Commonality.  They have ties to the ideni nomads and have provided several ships to the Revolution fleet at their request.  Their battle discs are large and powerful vessels with extremely advanced technology, easily a match for Monarchy 2nd raters.
