Sounds like a great first week for you guys! We use the Core A Bible program from Sonlight. The Bible stories are a little advanced for my Emma, but I try to read the story and let them follow along in one of the other children's Bibles we have. We LOVE the Sing the Word CD though. It has 26 verses, one starting with each letter of the alphabet, and both kids sing their verse of the week all day long. We start our morning with circle time, Emma says a "thank you prayer" and then we do stretches, sing a couple songs, do a "closing" prayer and then do our Bible story followed by the CD. It seems to be working so far :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great first week - and with a baby too :) way to go girl!
ReplyDeleteWe are reading through A Child's First Bible, and we are just starting our GrapeVine Studies workbooks. Have you tried them yet? Your child draws the Bible Stories as you work through them - it's perfect for my artsy girl. here's a link: http://www.grapevinestudies.com/?AffId=28
Happy first week of school! I'm glad it went well for you. Those prayers from our little ones are so precious! You caught a sweet photo, too:) Have you heard of "Big Thoughts for Little People"(ABC's to help you grow) and "Giant Steps for Little People"The Sermon on the Mount and the Ten Commandments) by Kenneth N. Taylor? We used those and they were great for us. I'm sure you'll find something that is a perfect fit for you guys. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeletecongrats on finishing a great first week! i find that all of us function much better on a schedule or routine - it lets me know where i can be flexible and allow for impromptu trips to the park, etc. while still finding room to get it all done.
ReplyDelete:D Awesome picture of Caleb. And YAY! I'm so happy to see your report. Keep pressing on!
ReplyDeletePerfect inspiration :) and what attention to detail! I admire and congratulate.
