The Crypt of DOOM!!

Well, one of my many goals for the last year or so has finally come to fruition, I've been promising myself I'd open and online shop and thanks to Etsy I can finally cross that off my list.

Right now there is just the one item, but I hope to post things from time to time, like the Squid Apron, some guitars and other paintings.

So please feel free to stop by The Crypt of DOOM!! and see what's taking place from time to time.

Oh,and in case you were curious, the AWESOME photographs of the apron could not have been achieved with out the help of my good friend the Ambitious Misfit and Nicole the model. Here's one of my personal favorites from the shoot. . . I just love the expression on her face!

Fruits Go Go

So from August 2nd thru the 17th, I'm going to be participating in a gallery show organized by Caro. It's going to be at Monkeyhouse Toys and Gallery in Silverlake, CA and titled "Fruits Go Go". I wish I can say I'm doing something amazing, fantabulous, and new, but quite honestly an old piece of mine is finally getting it's time in the spotlight. "2D Fruity", the very 1st custom guitar I did with my BF, Mr. CMF, will finally get to be seen by the world, or at least people in Silverlake, Ca. (Although I do hope to have enough time to maybe do one more little piece before then, as I do truly love those crazy kids fashion ideas. They truly are a source of inspiration.)

If the flier is anything to judge the show by (which it usually is), it should be a bright and cheery show full of fun stuff. So if your in the LA area and bored, and have a lot of patience to try to find parking in Silverlake, please do come by and see all the nifty stuff.

P.S. When I say patience, I actually mean about 20 Valium in your system. It's a beautiful place, but I wouldn't wanna park there. ;)

Update!!

Well, being the HUGE dork that I am, when I found that Vynal Pulse did a small write up on the "Fruits GoGo" show, I just HAD to post a link. Not only did they take a picture of the guitar for their site, but my attractive back side made it into two shots. Go me!! :P

Incognito

Saturday, August 11th, 2007, out at Gallery Nucleus is the opening evening for the "Ninja Show"

My boyfriend and I just finished our second custom guitar, which will be making it's debut that night. We're really excited to have the opportunity to have our "little projects together" get such a great opportunity to be viewed by, what's undeniably going to be a LOT of people.

Caterpillar Roll

So, yet another year in my life has passed and through out the course of this year I have learned a few important things. The most important one being NEVER, EVER feed a 14-year-old female a ton of sugar followed by a frappachino from Starbucks. It spells disaster.

A Caterpillar Roll of Doom for your viewing pleasure. Potato Farm Girl took me out to a sushi dinner for my B-day. Enough said.

Now off to enjoy the bestest b-day gift (for me) EVER!! 18 hours of CSI viewing goodness, here I come!!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Well, things have been pretty damn crazy here in Booger-land. Good news is that I FINALLY have my first day off in 3 weeks and the project at work is in Beta Testing right now and should be up for all of Neopia to enjoy on the 18th.

But since I don't like talkin' about work much on my bloggy blog, and lovely Viacom security rules prevent me from telling too many goodies to psycho Neopets fans, I'll move on to personal work.

Tonight, actually, I'll have a painting in ISM Magazine's April Gallery show "Friends of ISM" down in Costa Mesa, CA. I'm really excited to have the opportunity to be in another show, and even more excited to be in my first show out side of Gallery Nucleus.

With work being as crazy as it has been recently, and not recieving the invite into the ISM show until a week before the show deadline, I had to submit and older piece. But both the piece and I are very happy to have it be seen outside of my kitchen. :D

In case you're wondering, it's name is ultra super complex. . . "Gummies" and it's 12" x 12" streched canvas with acrylic. So if you can make it down to the OC, or ya live in the OC and you're very, very bored, you can come check out my painting.

Finally, I'm overjoyed to post this little ditty.

About two weeks ago we finally got "Two-Dee Fruity" put together and stringed. I don't think Carlos bothered to tune it, but just having it back together and having the first complete "Purplehearts" guitar made is very exciting. We've already got the next two planned and now that work's slowing down I can get back to having fun with the guitars.

Two-dee Fruity (part 1, sorta)

Well, as you can see from the last two previous posts, I've been workin' on this for a while.

My boyfriend and I started talking about something we could do together. Call it bonding time, call it a melding of the minds, call it whatever you like, but we decided it would be fun to make custom guitars.

My boyfriend is a really talented guitar player and is constantly obsessing about getting new ones and customizing his old ones. So, partially to appease him and partially because it sounded like a really fun idea, the two of us decided that he'd do all the hardware work and "prepping of the surfaces" and I'd just "do my thing".

Obviously, this is our first one, and due to our total lack of originality, we decided we should call this one "Two-dee Fruity" (partially because she's a "fruits" girl and partially because my boyfriend said that it should be in honor of the fact that she's a "2-D" design, we're nerds).

Stay tuned for "Two-dee Fruity (part 2)" where I actually post the guitar all put back together again. :D
