Fa La La La Christmas Card with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here today and I welcome you to my first Christmas in August post.
The new BoBunny adorable Christmas collections are here!
So today I made an interactive and very fancy card and there is a full video tutorial too, so you can recreate my card if you like it. I used this Christmas in the Village collection and I am really in love with this collections lovely graphics and non- traditional Christmas colors.
My card this time has no Mixed Media add- ons, it's easy to make, and fits each and every crafter.
This is how it looks when standing as a regular card:

But wait- you are going to be amazed!
Let's open the topper :

 And now it's full opened!

Usually this kind of a card is made without  all bottom layers; the pop- up part is the actual card where you write the greetings.
I made it in a bit more layered style: the pop- up part is just the card topper/front and then there are a few more cardstock layers and the actual light blue card where you add your greetings/sentiments/ thoughts or whatever you wish.
So here you can see all the layers on this standing card:

And if you want to try to make this  kind of card- HERE is a video tutorial for you to use.
Just a word about it: in the video the final part was mis- glued upside down and there were no way to change it in the video. But the final project was re- done and the pop- up part is glued in the correct direction.
As the video is mostly to teach the mechanism of this card the inside ornaments direction is not the issue and you can see the finished re- done project without any mistakes.

Christmas: Artistic Trading Coins with Irit

 Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit from Irit Shalom Designs is here today with my first project made with the most adorable and newest Yuletide Carol collection.
This is a totally traditional Christmas collection- colors, designs and sayings .
But I decided to make totally new and not so traditional Artistic Trading Coins set.

Let me explain you a bit about Artistic Trading coins first.
Most of us met and made ATC- Artistic Trading Cards- the small cards that fit the baseball cards plastic pockets.
Some of us even made Artistic Trading Cubes- 3'' cubes embellished from all 4 sides and on the top that can be folded and mailed in the envelope.
Artistic Trading Coins are the new thing that became trendy  during last few months and actually it's 2.5'' cardstock/chipboard/paper/ wooden circle that is pretty flat as we need to swap them and to mail them inside the envelope.
So here are my take of this new trend using this adorable Christmas collection.
I made 6 coins in the same colors and in the same designs.
Each and every " coin" has two cardstock circle layers and then Combo stickers, layered chipboards and Noteworthy die cuts from the very same collections were added on the top.
Some of the coins were embellished with BoBunny die cut from dies, brads, jewels or buttons.
Yet they are still very flat and you can mail them inside the regular envelope.
The first one here has a die cut candle, die cut cardstock layer and some jewels one it.

The second coin was embellished with gold heat embossed wooden shapes, Noteworthy die cuts and jewels.

This coin was covered with Gold glitter paste on the edges.

The next one has a die cut layer made from the collection cardstock.

The next one is very similar to the second piece, but still totally different.

The last one is the fanciest one as there are heart die cut, stickers, brad and even button on it.

And if swaps are not your cup of tea- just add some strings on the back of the coins and you would have 6 adorable hand made Christmas tree ornaments.

Thanksgiving: Give Thanks Decor Piece with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here today and I am going to share my Thanksgiving altered project made with the new BoBunny collection, Floral Spice!

There are many different types of decorations for Thanksgiving, but I decided to make a decor piece for the mantel. Living in Israel, the fireplace is the least used thing in our life, so I just made a nice decoration for the home and placed it on my shelf. You can alter this project and use it wherever works for you in your home!

I was hesitant to see if Floral Spice would work for a Thanksgiving them project but yes, it worked!

I tried to make this simple, affordable and something that any crafter can make with just one BoBunny collection without die cutting, stamping or Mixed Media add- ons.

The background was made with two pieces of cardstock; the upper  circle  edges were covered with BoBunny Gold Glitter paste.
Then some more layers were added using Combo Stickers, cardstock hand cuts, a couple of Layered Chipboards etc.
Two flower clusters were made with a lot of hand cut paper flowers from one single cardstock piece and layered with American Crafts foam dots.
The circled saying was made with Thickers from another new and adorable collection- Something Splendid.
The Floral Spice  collection has it's own lovely Thickers, but the color was too dark to be seen over my decoration hoop and I decided to use gold for the brighter color.

I added some gold glitter paste dots over the paper flowers and around the hoop.
Product list:
 BoBunny:
Floral Spice collection 12'' cardstock- Floral Spice, Owls, Intrigue, Take Flight, Memories
Floral Spice Combo Stickers
Floral Spice Layered chipboards
Something Splendid Thikers
Gold Glitter Paste

American Crafts:
Sticky thumb glue  runner
Sticky thumb adhesive foam dots

I hope that you like my Thanksgiving decor piece!
Thanks for being here with me today and see you in a week with my first Christmas project!

Using Stickers: Mini Book in a Box with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here and today  am going to share my Girls Only mini album in the handmade box that was created with the new and most gorgeous BoBunny Something Splendid paper collection.

Something Splendid collection is vintage style girly collection with friendship orientation and as a such it's a perfect one for girlfriends albums, layouts, cards or tags.
So  as this week the DT members were challenged to make projects using stickers I made this mini album in the box using this paper collection, lots of this collection stickers, layered chipboards and some other BoBunny and American crafts products.

I tried to make this box pretty flat, so the recipient  can carry it in the handbag.
I used the collection tag cardstock as my reference for the size. There are 8 tags in this cardstock and the size of the box fits the tag mini album that is inside the box.
I didn't add the photos (should be on the back of each tag and trimmed to size), as this is a present for my own girl and she will add the photos of here own girlfriends later.
The front was embellished with cardstock pieces and then a few Combo stickers were added on the " seen" side on the front. The flap was embellished with layered chipboards and one single blue flower was added over the chipboard piece.

The opened flap was embellish with more Combo stickers and I even used the side leftovers as some sticker strips.

The top was embellished with one more layered chipboards and it actually looks like a book cover.

And now the tags that were connected with a simple binder ring into a mini album. As you can see I added some gold transfer sayings over some of them and some Combo stickers over the others.
Each tag was matted over American Crafts black textured cardstock; the same cardstock was used as the base of my handmade box.

And now some more of the tags for you to see:

And just to say: this project is easy to make and you don't need any fancy  or expensive tools to make it in just two hours. Just buy Something Splendid BoBunny collection and you are done!

Welcome Fall: Thanks Layout with Irit

 Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit is here today and this time I am going to share a layout made as a gift for the nursery staff .
My third and most adorable grandson Lior spent a year and a half in this wonderful place and he is moving to the " big boys" kindergarten.
So my daughter asked if I can do a craft gift with some photos she made during the last months.
Yes, I sure can, even when the photos are totally out of my scrapping range (bad backgrounds, poor quality photos are not my usual scrappy mojo).
But then, with BoBunny cutest ever Little Wonders collection I made a nice multiphoto layout and as for the staff? They are not scrappers, so they just adored it even with the blurry photos.

I arranged this layout over the wooden 12*12'' stand and there is an option to hang it on the wall too.
This is a totally classic scrapbook layout in a totally classic  style: cardstocks, few photos, title, sub- title, few paper embellishments and a lot of smiles.
I think, and you can connect with it if you feel the same way, that the classic and non Mixed Media scrapbooking is still the best.
When you have a pretty scrapbooking collection with some stickers, dies and photos you don't need to hide the smallest possible photo  under dozens of paint and mediums layers.
Make your photos the stars of your layout!
Make people smiles the joy of your creations!
Go back to classic scrapbooking as we did for ages and this will be the best gift ever!

And now some close- ups to this page:

Cards: All About ATC with Irit

Hello my dear crafty friends!
Irit from Irit Shalom's Designs is here today and I am going to share with you all about ATC.
As you all most probably know ATC was first  Artistic Trading cards item-baseball card size small artistic project that was traded and kept in the baseball cards plastic pocket. And this was sore for two decades.
Then the crafters around the world felt bored and decided that C can be changed to ... cube.
So Artistic Trading Cubes were born: small 3'' squared cube made  from one single cardstock piece and embellished on 5 sides. It also can be folded and mailed for swapping.
Then about 6 months ago the brain stormed artists decided that C can be also for Coins. And so Artistic Trading Coins were born: 2.5'' circled art pieces that are embellished, stamps, misted, painted and whatever and can be mailed and traded.
So today I am going to share all three ATC kinds that were made with one single BoBunny collection named Sunshine Bliss and all of them are  in this correct ATCs size and ready for swap.

This is my collection of two coins, two cards and one cube.
Also I used stencils, glitter paste and stamps these are not really Mixed Media art pieces, but more scrapbooking style collaged ones.
And this is the glory of BoBunny products: you can make classic projects with them or to move to Mixed Media art. It just depends on your style and your own skills.
So here are the first " born" of ATC- Trading cards.

Both cards are made in the same way: American Crafts black cardstock base. Then Sunshine Bliss die cut rectangle. Over the rectangle BoBunny stencil with Black glitter paste was used and then Noteworthy die cut pieces and Combo stickers were added to finish the card.
ATC must be pretty flat art piece as you are going to mail it in the flat envelope, so I stopped on this level of layers. Some background stamps were used around the upper layers to add more artistic interest to the card.

The next are Coins: same way of crafting and pretty much same style and look.

And here are the flat pieces all together:

And now the last C for the Cube.

The cube should not be glued so you can fold it and to ship it. I glued it as I wanted better photos from a few sides.

So here are some close- ups to some sides and to the embellished top:

So I hope that you understood all kinds of ATC projects and maybe would try to make some of your own with BoBunny delicious paper collections!
