Fast Friday

Happy Friday Bo Bunny Fans!

How long does it take you to create a scrapbook page? Some of us can whip up a layout in the blink of an eye.  Some of us take hours and hours, maybe even days to complete one layout. With that being said, we challenged our designers to create a layout in ONE HOUR or less.  Yes, you read that correctly...ONE HOUR!  And they did it!  It was quite a struggle for some of them, and those that really struggled shared some great tips on how to speed up your process.  Let's see what they created!

First up we have a super artsy layout created by Mahlin.  She does admit that the gesso (the white paint) took some time to dry, but while it was drying she punched out her circle embellishments and created her frame and title pieces.

This bright and summery layout by Luzma was kept clean and simple using pre-made embellishments and border stickers.  This allowed her to create her gorgeous handmade flowers and still complete this layout on time.

Designer Tips: So I challenged myself to actually do this layout in a half hour....didn't make it....BUT I did manage it in under an hour! Here are my tips for doing a quick layout:
~ I started by choosing an old l/o of mine that I liked the design of and chose to copy the design (I find a lot of my scrapping time is spent on creating the page design and positioning my embellishments. Working off an old l/o helps cut off loads of time.
~ On my original l/o I did a lot of machine stitching, for this one I simply used a brown and black pen to imitate the stitched lines.
~ I often make my own blooms for my layouts, in this case I used ready made but you can also create your own in colors that you often use and keep them ready to go in a jar.
~ Gather together all your components for your layout and have them ready to go, it's easier if you stick to one collection's papers and embellies if you really want to work quickly.
~ Be organized. If you pull a pen or scissors etc. from your tool jar, put them back when you finish with them, I can't tell you how much time I waste looking for my tools under scraps of papers and embellishments!
~ I often save the backing to flourish stickers/chipboard and use them as masks, I keep them in a handy little zip-lock back within easy reach.

Christiane created a clean and simple layout using a fabulous block style. It would be so easy to add more photos to this design too!

Utilizing your Bo Bunny Die-cuts

We all love die cuts, especially Bo Bunny Die Cuts! They add shape, motion and interest to almost any layout or project. Today Bo Bunny's designers are showcasing their projects created with a variety of Bo Bunny examples and creative ideas to help you utilize your Bo Bunny Die Cuts.

The first layout was created by Chistiane MullerChristiane used the die cut from the Zoology collection and mixed it with 3 other collections to create this gorgeous layout. Chistiane's panoramic photos also give you the feeling of motion and the title gives the impression of movement.
Project Title:Time Flies
Designer:Christiane Muller
Bo Bunny Supply List:
Patterned Paper: Timepiece,Gabrielle Cameo
Die Cuts: Zoology Die Cut Paper
Stickers: Learning Curve Combo Stickers, Zoology Combo Stickers, Gabrielle Dimensional Stickers, Timepiece Dimensional Stickers

Next up is the ever talented Irene Tan.  Irene's layout was created using the Liberty Independence Die Cut and the Cambridge Crown Die Cut .  This scalloped circular die cut will give motion to any layout.  The circular shape has your eye following the details around the layout until you've completed the circle and seen every detail. Again, Irene combined several different Bo Bunny collections and circular embellishments to add consistency, interest and variety to her layout and photo.
The details.
Irene weaved  Double Dot Ribbon through the Denim Rope Trim from the Learning Curve Collection to  create her own trim.  She embellished the end of the trim with one of the Trinkets from the Liberty Collection.  It's a great way to mix your favorite Bo Bunny collections and create a new way to use your trims.
Project Title:6, 7, 8, 9
Designer: Irene Tan
Bo Bunny Supply List:
Patterned Paper: Liberty
Stickers: Liberty Dimensional Stickers, Liberty Combo Sticker, Family Ties Card Stock Stickers
Noteworthy: Liberty

The next layout was created by Debbie Sherman and was also created with the Liberty Independence die cut. The statment of the photo and  layout is to remember that our freedom is not free.  The die cut and flourishes once again keeps your eye moving around the photo and layout in a circular motion.  It allows you to see the details while still keeping focus on the photo and the message.
Project Title:Land of the Free
Designer: Debbie Sherman
Bo Bunny Supply List:
Patterned Paper: Independence Die Cut, Stripe, Old Glory, Dot,
Stickers: Liberty Combo Stickers
Brads: Liberty

Jolanda Meurs created this layout entitled "My Star" as proof that you don't have to live in the USA to utilize the Liberty  Collection.  Jolanda says, "I wanted to show that the Liberty line is also great to use for other items than the 4 of July. We do not celebrate that in the Netherlands." She used the Liberty Independence Die Cut perfectly to highlight her little guy as her little star.  She used the chipboard star embellishments to keep the theme of the layout going. Again the eye is moving in  motion with the scalloped die cut and flouishes.
Project Title: My Star

And our final designer for today is Gabrielle Pollaco. Gabi used a die cut from the Mammarazi collection and combined it with Zoology! Bo Bunny does such a great job coordinating collections, past and present! The way Gabi overlaid the patchwork and photos on this keep your eyes moving from one photo to the next.
The embellishments are so cute and match up perfectly with her photo of the two sweet girls!
The jeweled centers on the flowers are the perfect added detail!
Project Title: Zoo
Designer: Gabrielle Pollaco
Bo Bunny Supply List:
