Hands crochet

The crochet doll needed some good rest, there was lot happening in her life this week.
Little by little, she was sending out new hands.
There was some problems with the yarns leftovers,
it was almost solved out, but not without any pain.

So, as the weekend was already here, she asked to take some time off from being crocheted.

Crocheting new doll

I had so many shoes, slippers and handbags to sew since I am back from Belgium, that I thought I am becoming a shoe by my self or maybe a slipper, not handbag, I have less orders of them LOL.
Ok, but now finally I have some free time to crochet this doll, I am so glad, I missed it so much.

Buba

While I am already back home, my doll who is now became part of my art work -"Buba", is yet in Belgium.
She is sitting there, covered by blanket, on a shelf of a dressing room, in front of her at the other side of the cell there is a photo portrait of her, and some of her garments hanged on the hooks.
The word "Buba" mean - a doll and a puppet in Hebrew, there is only one word to describe both of them.
This word is also being used for describing something small and cute, human or objects. Well behavior, well functioning, disciplined and good looking are some of it's associations too.
It is a common nickname for little girls, but with the same meaning it is also a nickname for grown up women as compliment or teasing.
"Buba" was part of a group exhibition-"Suddenly Last Summer" taking place in an old children medical center which is going to be demolished at the end of this summer, it was organised by the Belgian art organisation-"art 27".

When a doll get a heart?

Yesterday I taught my six-eight years old students how to stitch hands into the already stuffed body of the socks dolls they are creating.
When I began my explanation they immediately said that it is going to hurt the doll, I promised to do it as gentle as I can in order to not cause any pain, and asked them to do the same when stitching hands into their own dolls.
They weren't satisfied by it, so I said it is like a surgery, and she was put to sleep before, most of them agreed it would be better, but there were few who yet kept on claiming I am hurting the doll. I just wanted to finish my explanation and let them stitch by their own, so I loudly said: "I promised all of you she is not being hurt by me, if she did was it would inform us". One of the boys immediately answered that the doll have no mouth to scream, and no eyes to cry, one of the girls told him that the doll don't have any heart too so it can't feel when it hurt.
This opened a whole new conversation weather the stuffing is like blood or like heart, there was a controversy in the class about this issue, till other girl solved it by announcing that dolls get an heart only when they are been done.

Lost

I really wished I haven’t had to write this post, I feel so nervous and angry so I must share it.
This story began at this post, I sent this doll to an exhibition at the Berliner "Lilo und dicke dinger" some designer mother and child clothes boutique.
Eva Math, the owner, contacted me through Etsy, she invited me to send one of my dolls to an exhibition of dolls and puppet she was organizing.
I was glad with the invitation, she sent so many contact information, which convinced me that it is OK, we exchanged few mails and she seemed to be very nice and interesting woman, so everything seemed trust able.
I sent her one of my favorite dolls, it was before the end of October (the exhibition was going to be opened at mid November, enough time to arrive).
Till mid November I haven’t heard a word from Mrs. Eva Math, I mailed her, but no answer, I tried to look for details about the exhibition at the Internet ,but nothing . After another unanswered mail, I phoned, she told me that my doll arrived too late and she will send it back. OK I was waiting.
It was already January when I haven’t received any sign, I mailed but no answer. A week later I phoned: she was sorry and promised to send it till the beginning of February.
Last week it was already March and I haven’t received nothing yet, I phoned again, and guess what - all of her phone numbers are disconnected, and her shop site seems to be offline.

I was so angry, I can’t understand what her motivation is, why she can’t just send it back?
Most of all I am blaming myself for trusting people so blindly, for being so naive, I feel so stupid!
The only thing I can do now is hoping.
I received some surprising mails in the past relating to things I shared here, so maybe...
If you are happen to know this Mrs. Eva Math from "Lilo und dicke dinger" chodowieckistr 12 10405 in Berlin, I would be so thankful if you could tell me something that will help me to contact her
This doll very precious for me, she is one of my most unique dolls, I would never succeed to do something similar, I just want her back.
