My Projects: Maple Leaf Turban

I have a new knitting project on the needles!  You may remember the Mid-Week Inspiration last week on Turbans, well let's just say I was inspired to make one of my own.

My Projects Maple Leaf Turban

I've long been a fan of Diane Serviss' work and her Etsy shop Pixiebell. I bought the digital download of this lovely turban pattern from her shop. Finally, I am trying my hand on one of her patterns!

I am using the super soft Cascade Yarns Magnum in color Koala Bear. This is the first time I have used a super bulky yarn. Needles- size 13.

Here's the start of it! So far so good. I'm going to attach a maple leaf brooch that belonged to my Mother to it. Winter fabulous!

My Vintage Vanity: Blue Floral Purse

I recently picked up this pretty Mid-Century shoulder bag at Foyer in Brooklyn. It has a creamy linen with blue floral, of course covered in plastic! With a plastic chain shoulder strap and a bakelite top clasp!

I love the floral print!

What do you think? Do you have anything similar?

Vintage Finds of the Week: Parasols

Inspired from all of the pretty parasols at last Sunday's Jazz Age Lawn Party (like the one pictured above) I think I'm in need of one. And while I don't leave the house wihtout sunblock, parasols provide sun protection and make a stylish summer accessory! For my vintage finds of the week, I have discovered a few noteworthy ones on Etsy.

Vintage Finds of the Week: Snow Bunny Ski Accessories

Even though I grew up in Northern New England with Quebecois blood, I do not ski. But I have always loved the chicness of being fabulous in the lodge. So why not look the part on the city streets? Here are my vintage snow bunny finds of the week!

Vintage Finds of the Week: Red Purses

A red purse is a wardrobe essential. I had a vintage red leather clutch years ago which I regrettably sold. Ever since then I've been pining away for one. So I was delighted when I won the auction on eBay from Twilight Time for the purse above for $15.50! I love it and wore it out for the first time Saturday night. I now feel complete.
Now, I can't have all the fun.... here are two other finds for you!
