In the Mail: Shop Miss Ella

When I laid eyes on all the illustrations and items from Shop Miss Ella I knew I had found something really special. It's not every day you find something that manages to combine pretty much everything you've ever dreamed about!

Here were my favorite colors, styles and textures I love, cats and woodland creatures, Alice in Wonderland, and even crafts like sewing and knitting. All wrapped up into beautifully illustrated items that I could wear, hang, send or use.

So I quickly ordered some of my favorite things. I was so excited to receive them in the mail! Everything was beautiful and of great quality, I loved the pink gift bags for the brooches and there was even a cat sketch on the parcel itself.

Ella is doing such a spectacular job filling her Etsy with lots of different items! Notebooks, mirrors, mugs, buttons, patches, prints and jewelry. And she always seems to be working on something new entirely. And although I highly recommend you check out the entire shop, here is a glimpse of the cool stuff you can currently find at Shop Miss Ella.

If you're as smitten as I am, I also urge you to follow this lady on facebook. It's where pictures of new items show up first, but also were you can see sketches, as well as Ella's amazing personal sewing projects! Think illustrated cat dresses;)

Nephtali

Nephtali is a beautiful video for the Paris Ballet that shows what happened when Glen Keane went to sketch a ballet dancer. It's a short but gorgeous video that's part "making of", part animated story/dance performance. Enjoy!

You can follow Glen Keane's projects on facebook if you'd like to see more of his work.

Wishlist

More books?! Yes, but they're total eye candy as well. I am so extremely in love with the Rifle Paper Co. & Penguin "In Bloom" editions of some girls' classics. They have released the perfect set of four and I hope to one day own them all!

I'm just so stoked! Everything about them is beautiful! The covers, the end papers... even the spines are gorgeous! And I'd love to read them too. And I'm already secretly keeping my fingers crossed that they'll do even more books.

I also love that they are hardcovers, but that they do not have a dust jacket. And the best thing is… they're not even expensive! $16.00 a piece. Very doable for these treasures, right? Also, they even come with matching bookmarks!

Amazing Art: ilovedoodle

When I came across ilovedoodle on Etsy it looked really familiar. Then I spotted this elephant print and it hit me, Threadless does a lot of ilovedoodle prints on t-shirts, and I was always very much drawn to those designs.

Anyway, the entire shop is filled with the most adorable and clever finds. And a lot of them just make you really excited about life or all warm and fuzzy. I really recommend you check out the entire shop, but here are some of my favorites.

By the way, if you are completely new to Etsy, you can use this link and we'll both get €5 of our purchase.

Owl Things Considered

My own gorgeous new clock was actually installed today. -It is perfect and I'll show you soon!- But I also saw Oana Befort's amazing clocks in her Society6 shop. They're so pretty and you can pick white, black or natural rims and hands.

Amazing Art: Yelena Bryksenkova

Yelena Bryksenkova's illustrations are full of beautiful patterns and colors, yet somehow the women in them always make the pieces look very calm. Anyway, it turns out Yelena not only has an Etsy, but a lovely blog as well. Enjoy!

The Popsicle Project

My friend Julia from Hornrimmed Girl has just finished a lovely project! If your current climate is anything like mine, popsicles may be the furthest thing from your mind right now... but I have to admit that even in cold weather, the look of them still makes me smile.

I love how she included lots of different popsicles from lots of different countries. There are some that immediately bring back childhood memories and others I want to try quite desperately.

Like the one below! Doesn't it look delicous? And I love how it's so realistic, yet still clearly an illustration.

So, what do you think? A very yummy project, right? Check this link for more popsicles and for a wallpaper of "the Nogg".

If you're hoping to get a print of this collection of popsicles -or of just one- let us know below. Because Julia is still on the fence about selling these posters on Etsy. But with enough demand, she'll make it happen.

And don't forget to check out Julia's blog for movie reviews, design updates and whatever else is on her mind or camera.

Wishlist: Meg Hunt for Threadless

You're probably aware of my fondness for Threadless by now. They never fail to release amazing prints. And one of their latest collaborations -the Meg Hunt collection- really blew my mind.

Her style is so cool! It's vintage-looking, it's otherworldly. I just adore it!

She makes fantasy creatures, but also real animals, and a fair share of owls as well. And her color palettes are fantastic!

Every design is available as a t-shirt, of course, but some also come as iPhone cases.
Click here to see the rest of Meg Hunt's collection. Or go to Threadless to browse around a bit.

Amazing Art: Inna Kapustenko

The illustrations of Inna Kupestenko are phenomenal. When I first saw them I sensed there was a fairy tale behind every single piece. So I was not surprised to find out she was actually also working on illustrations for books. Anyway, I'm sure you'll love these pieces!

Spotted

Whenever it's cold I tend to be extra thankful to have an amazing cat in my life. She makes winter a lot easier! However, today I'm showing you some icy cold cats.

Isn't this a great shirt? It's pretty, it's quirky and it would match all my summer skirts!

And I'm head over heels with this brooch too!

This little kitty might not be practical whatsoever, but it sure is adorable.

Not with my budget, and probably not doable with yours either, but a girl can dream, right? Love this pendant.

And if you want to add some ice cold kitties to your clothing, you can too. Just sew this patch on.

I love both the illustration and the puns. Would look great in my new kitchen by the way.

And on a final note...
