The Zanotta Quaderna table is available at Architonic ...and it comes in several options. I think I need to add this to the coffee table list...

7 The Living Room Cure / The Great Sofa Search

Ok. It is seriously time to narrow things down. Yesterday was Bonus Day...Yeah! This week I have been back and forth trying to make decisions, but I keep changing my mind. I was thinking you guys could help...Although I have made it clear that I am looking for a new sofa, I am also in the market for a new coffee table, a rug, and an entertainment center. The sofa and table are my first priority, the other two will probably wait for now but I want to plan for them now.

I have narrowed the sofa search down to the Room and Board Jasper in Dela Charcoal and the Conran Shop 59th Street Sofa in Stowe Truffle. I had made the decision to get the Jasper, but the 59th Street is on sale 30% off...that is a lot. The Jasper is $1300 {w/o shipping} and will take 6 weeks to get. The 59th Street is $2080 {w/o shipping}, possibly less I am waiting to here from my new friend at the Conran Shop. It is available in a grey linen which is exactly what I wanted and can get here in 2 weeks. Now, there is still a decent price difference to consider. And we all know more expensive doesn't necessarily mean better. What do you think?

Now on the coffee table, I am 90% sure I am going with a similar custom table from Room Service. All week I have been back and forth between it and Blu Dot's Strut Coffee Table. Here we are talking $700 vs. $400. Custom vs not {but still well designed}. Now here is where my dilemma comes in. I want to incorporate a wood element and a white lacquered element into the room in the coffee table and the entertainment center. I am highly considering MASH Studio's LAX entertainment shelf {below}. It has a white door, but the Strut only comes in Ivory {well and blue, green, and pink but I don't like those. If it came in yellow we wouldn't be having this conversation.} So, I am afraid the two won't look good together. I think I am going to go with the Room Service table.

The entertainment center is the part of the equation that I am having the hardest time with. I am looking for something 60"-70" long and around 24" tall, with some closed and some open storage, that looks modern and costs less than $1000. MASH Studio's LAX entertainment shelf fits the bill, but I am having a hard time finding other good options. How do you feel above the above mentioned coffee table with the LAX? Can anyone think of any other good options?

3 Living Room Inspiration from Room Service

Remember this amazing living room and most perfect ever coffee table? A year later, I am still obsessed with the coffee table, which was custom made my Room Service in Los Angeles. Budget willing, I think I am going to have one made for our living room too. So, I was checking out their website and found all these fantastic items. I am loving the Martin Sofas. That black and white chair could definitely find a home in my living room...and the yellow one too!

8 Happy New Year! and 500th Post!

Happy New Year Friends! I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday. This is my official 500th post...I am super excited. I started this blog on a whim, but I am so thankful I did. It has really been a source of joy and inspiration for me, and I hope for you too. I am so thankful for all of the friends I have made through it, and I hope to further explore and expand this year!

Now, on to my New Year's Resolutions:
{I feel like I have to post them here so I will be accountable for them.}

This is going to be a big year for me.
1. I will finish taking the ARE exams and get licenced. Due to being super busy at work and well sometimes lazy I have only taken {and passed!} one exam so far. But this year, it is top priority and I am getting it done!
2. I will continue my upward path at work. {I've been doing quite well lately!}
3. I will get my finances in order. Not that they are awful, I just need to payoff some credit cards. So by the end of the year I will be debt free! {well, except for my big student loan- that one is never going away}
4. In order to do this, I will create {almost done} and follow a budget.
5. As indicated in the fabulous graphic above: I have everything I need. So I am giving myself a challenge. NO shopping until May. None. We will see how this goes, but I am kind of excited about it. I definitely spend money as a means of therapy, and I need to break that habit.
6. In May, when I get my yearly bonus, I will buy us a new sofa and coffee table as my reward for hard work.
7. Despite all the hard work I will be doing, I will take time to work on my personal fitness. Santa brought me a Wii and Fit Board, so hopefully this will help.
8. I will continue to grow the blog...I think it is time for some ad space! Any advice on this??

0 Bi-Wing Table @ Feel More Human

The Bi-Wing Table from Feel More Human was featured on AT last week...I think the design is really unique. It is made from a single sheet of aluminum and without any hardware or adhesives. It can be used indoors or outside and is 100% recyclable. I really like the clean lines and two shelves. As with all well designed coffee tables, it is quite expensive...but also really well designed.

2 Apartment Therapy Cure Spring 08 {To-Do List}

Ok, here is my goal list and floor plan for the Spring Cure...

Living Room
- A new coffee table...luckily this Cure extends through Bonus Check season, so this might actually be a possibility this time
- A rug to go under said coffee table
- A new couch cover...I'm thinking about making this myself...or maybe a new couch??
{this is unlikely due to budget constraints, but one day} I have a temporary cover over the original cover- they both need to go...

- Address the DVD storage issue...its bad when th bf actually asks me to go by something... {it doesn't look so bad in the picture, but the DVD's are stacked three rows deep right now and there are more hidden behind the TV}
-Deal with the awkward wall next to the TV where the return air and thermostat are located.
-Paint!?? I would love to paint some accent walls/areas...but I do rent...not that that stopped me from painting the bedroom...



Desk Area
-Create display area behind computer...fabric covered cork? or maybe homosote a la Shiso Mama?
-Lighting
-Freshen the objects on the shelves above the computer

Kitchen
-Curtain
-Lighting

Bathroom-Light Switch Project...I already have the supplies for this project..its an hour long project...




Bedroom

-New Duvet {check}
-New curtains now that the ones from the Fall Cure don't match my new Dwell bedding...{Honestly, as excited as I was about them during the Fall Cure, they just aren't working somehow...I might try to repurpose them as the couch cover?}



Play Room
-Hem curtains that I put up during the Play Room Cure {I've decided I like them.}

Closet
-Storage via shelving...the current shelves and our extra sheets, blankets, and towels are in a big pile in the floor... we had a little mishap...

Misc.
-Get a new vacuum cleaner...as of Sunday ours is officially dead. {My birthday is in two weeks, if any family members are reading this, all I want is a Dyson Vacuum Cleaner!!!}

Ok, I've mentioned before that I am searching for the perfect new coffee table...Well I just found it in Stephanie's fabulous living room on Apartment Therapy...



She had it custom made at Room Service? Now looking at their prices, I can tell this is going to be out of my budget...has anyone seen anything similar anywhere???

0 MASH Studios LAX Furniture

I realized that MASH Studios has created other fantastic furniture in the LAX line that coordinates with the coffee table that I blogged about last week. This Entertainment Shelf would be perfect for our new flat screen...and actually the Wall Mounted Shelf hung above the TV would solve some problems for us...the wall behind the TV looks so blank now that the tall entertainment center is gone. I also love the Wall Mounted Desk. The whole line is available at Design Public...hmm maybe when I get my bonus...

1 Furniture Dreams

We are in desperate need of a new coffee table...Ours is the perfect size and height, but wobbly and not terrible attractive...Every time Courtney's kids come over I cross my fingers that they will lean on it just right and it will crumble into the floor so I can justify a new one (This is one of th bf's items if you can't tell...)

Anyway, until now I haven't found a table that I really liked that meets our needs...we eat sitting on the floor, so it the table has to be an appropriate height in order to be conducive...moreover it needs to be simple and beautiful with clean modern lines...

Eh voila...the LAX Coffee Table from Mash Studios available through Design Public...I love it...it combines an organic element of the wood with the modern powder coated aluminum, has simple lines, and is a nice size...now if only it didn't have a $710 price tag..

But since I'm dreaming anyway...I'll also take one of these Colorful Cabinets by Finn Juhl...

The pics of this room are just too awful to post...This was the compromise room with the bf- it's "his room", I just sleep there. So, I try my best to not complain about its state. I never spend any time in here except when I'm asleep. The futon that I moved into the room from the living room during the Spring Cure is completely covered with throw pillows that I don't use and his clothes that he has decided no longer need to go in his closet. I have yet to empty the outbox from the spring cure, my fault, not because I'm having a hard time letting the items go, but because of logistics. He works nights, I work days so it's hard to coordinate when to work in this room....LUCKILY he will be out of the country for 10 days during this cure...I'll take advantage of the situation...
