... I've been puzzling over the open wreath and what to stitch there but have yet to settle on anything...

My next stitching project is something I acquired as an Exclusive Kit from a 

Facebook Sampler Group I belong to...

"Mary Ann Aldred Sampler" from Needle Work Press

The kit came with a piece of linen - Vintage Country Mocha 40ct - I just did not like this piece of linen, I tried to stitch on it and it's so stiff and unyielding that I just frogged the bit I had done, folded it back up, and dug out a piece I do like - LL Vintage Pear 40ct and now I'm happy as a clam.   I am using the floss that came in the kit all Classic Colorworks.  I am loving this piece as it has a super de duper border - and I am a sucker for a great border!!!

A Little Stitchin' and CAKE!!

 Gentle friends, I've turned the corner so to speak on MQ.... here's a snaperoo...

.. sorry about the craptastique snap but you get the idea... now, since I'm looking at a finish on the horizon I've picked out my next project... a sampler that is all kitted up and ready to go... this piece will, I think will push me to a finish at the end of the summer and then I'll get to stitching the Fall sampler I've decided to do this year... come hell or high water.  It's been floating near the top of the "to-be-stitched" heap for so long that this is the year I want to geter' done! But, that will have to wait until the late summer.

A good friend of ours had a birthday over the weekend and his wife inadvertently ordered two cakes...

... so we got a chocolate cake from Black Jet Bakery!!  Happy Birthday, Tom!!!!!

"Downton Abbney" film... 

 I'm a sucker for this franchise and loved the film... and will probably love anything else they release regarding the Crawley Clan!!!

A Little Stitchin'

 Gentle Friends, stitching away on the lovely Miss Quertier... and loving it to pieces!!  Here's a snaperoo...

... since I am not doing a "repro" stitch I am really liking the dark blue, green, and purple of the silk floss that I chose - let's hear it for stash!!  I often wonder when I just arbitrarily buy lovely overdyed floss either silk or cotton when or if I'll ever use it in a project.  I have quite a few skeins of stuff I've bought over the years that languish in the pile... oh well those are projects for the future.

A fun little stitch that seemed to work up quickly and now it's on to another sampler... I think I'm going to keep on stitching from stash for the next two projects.  The next piece I'm stitching came straight from my stash pile...  and was pulled entirely from stash.... I've had this chart sort of hovering in the background for years.  I always enjoy stitching Quaker pieces so here's a snap...

The 2 main silk colors I am using are Gloriana "Seaweed" and Silk 'N Colors "Tapestry Green"

I am also going to spot stitch in some Gloriana "Dried Pink Roses" and Elizabethan Green" - The sampler was originally stitched in all Black... but I'm not trying for a repro look and I choose my own path and colors.....
