Here on Earth we are supposed to gain knowledge right? Well I think being a mother has taught me more than anything. I decided to do a weekly post called "What I've Learned Wednesdays" and share some little tidbits on what I've learned.
I was asked to speak in church last week and in my ward we have Sacrament Meeting last. So during primary I had 3 different friends ask if I needed help with my kids. Oh no of course not, my kids are pretty good during church and Brandon isn't speaking with me, they'll be fine. HA! Well for the first part of the meeting every thing was fine. It was actually kinda nice to sit upfront and not be wrangling children. I could just sit there and look down at my little family all cute and sweet. Well Sage saw me up on the stand and didn't think it was very nice of me to not be holding her, and it is nap time. But she was fine. About half way through my talk Sage just couldn't stand that I was up front without her so Brandon took her out. Okay, no biggy my other three are still holding up. I finish my talk (yahoo!) and sit down. We then get to enjoy a nice musical and then the final talk. Next thing you know I see Drey's head bobbing back and forth on their row and I HEAR him saying "Cody, Cody horse, dog," and laughing. So I am thinking do I get up and go down there, can you just do that? Then I think well maybe no one is noticing. Yeah right, I see the people in the row in front and in back looking at them. I still see Dreyden's head running back and forth. Well just then a single sister in the row behind him, (who is his nursery teacher) leans over and grabs Drey. Does he like this? No he does the limp noodle and tries to get free. So she is standing up with him and I am thinking oh good she is going to take him out in the hall to Brandon. Nope! She moves up to the row with Bailey and Cody. Drey breaks free and runs for his life over to Bailey. Now I am up front thinking, "Do I make eye contact? Do I pretend like this is not happening? Do I laugh?" Well only a little while longer we can make it. Dreyden was pretty quiet for the rest of the meeting.
So what did I learn from this? Say no when you are asked to speak in Sacrament! Just kidding, I learned that it is okay to say "yes" when someone offers you help!
