Kerst lijkt alweer lang geleden.
Vandaag heb ik mij weer in de kluskleren gehesen en heb onderstaande kasten in de grondverf gezet. Ed's broertje heeft zichzelf weer eens overtroffen en prachtige boekenkasten om de schuifdeuren gemaakt. Het maakt onze keuken en kamer zo gezellig en geluid wordt tot bijna nul gereduceerd (wat heel handig kan zijn bijvoorbeeld 's morgens, als sommigen van ons al druk doende beneden zijn en anderen nog in bed liggen).
Het bracht het afgelopen jaar weer vers in mijn geheugen en ik kan met aan zekerheid grenzende stelligheid zeggen dat ik nog steeds niet echt heel erg van dit soort klussen hou. Maar het eindresultaat lonkt en helpt mij om het toch zo gauw mogelijk af te hebben, (dat en de top 2000 natuurlijk): Oh, om eindelijk de boekendozen uit te kunnen pakken en weer loopruimte om ons bed te hebben... Het is daar nu nog krapper dan het was, omdat Ed al een tijdje bezig is met het omtoveren van onze slaapzolder tot een tweekamerverdieping voor ons en de baby.
April nadert, genoeg te doen tot die tijd.

Christmas seems already such a long time ago.
Today I redressed in my old painting clothes and grounded the cupboards  below. Ed's brother outdid himself again by creating these bookcases and installing them in between our living room and kitchen. It creates such a cosy whole and if we close the doors, noise is almost reduced to zero (which is really great in the morning, when some of us are busy down stairs while others are still in bed).
It brought back the memories of last year, and I can almost certainly say that I still don't like this kind of DIY-ing very much. But the end result is such a motivation to get this job done: oh, to be able to finally unpack the book boxes standing around our bed. Wow! In the mean time Eduard is transforming our sleeping attic to a two-room-floor, for us and the baby. When he's done, I can just keep on painting and decorating there. 
April is approaching, hopefully we'll be finished in time.
