Gifted Gorgeousness for my Daughter

I finally finished the blanket for my daughter.
I don't think we will use this type of yarn again. It was too thick and uncomfortable to crochet.
The cat liked helping me tie in the extra yarn.

New Blanket

I realized that I never showed you the blanket I am crocheting for my daughter!
Here is the beginning:
Above is the yarn she chose. I tried to crochet it with the hook in the second photo, but it did not work at all! So Amazon to the rescue with a HUGE crochet hook.
Then I quickly realized I did not have enough yarn so I ordered more and waited for it to come in. This is where it is now:

I can crochet a row a night, but after that I am done. It hurts my hands to hold so I am slowly working on it. It must be done by September 20th. Maybe?

Ugly Blanket Finish

This stitched up fast! I do love how the yarn feels and everyone who has touched it loves the weight of it.
I should measure it, but it is long and cozy. Now I have 3 days to get my daughter's blanket done. Yikes!

Ugly Blanket

My daughter wants a blanket for her dorm. She is a little particular so I knew I would have to do a practice blanket. I found this yarn on clearance at Michael's and found enough to make a HUGE blanket for my husband.
The stripes are coming out strange as it is meant to be made into a baby blanket.
The colors are also a little strange. I wish the baby blue wasn't in there, but oh well. It is warm and will be huge!
