A Gift to Me!

Last month I taught at the Region Workshop for EGA and I had a few ladies from my guild help me as I taught. One gal asked to borrow some magazines on crazy quilting, which I gladly did. This is what she made me as a thank you gift:

It is a pin cushion with a little scissor pocket on the back. So cute! Thanks Pat E.!
I am counting this as my Gifted Gorgeousness post for this month.  Jo      puts this SAL on and all you have to do is shoe horn the idea of "gift" in the post. Lots of fun!

Gifted Gorgeousness for October

I looked at the calendar and realized that I missed Gifted Gorgeousness for October! My bad. What is Gifted Gorgeousness? It is a Stitch-a-Long hosted by Jo at Serendipitous stitching . If you received it as a gift, are giving it as a gift or can shoehorn it into the category of gift, you can use it as a project.
I am slowly but surely working on this piece:
Maybe it will be done by spring. It would make a lovely postcard....

Gifted Gorgeousness for my Daughter

I finally finished the blanket for my daughter.
I don't think we will use this type of yarn again. It was too thick and uncomfortable to crochet.
The cat liked helping me tie in the extra yarn.
Jo at    Serendipitous Stitching   hosts Gifted Gorgeousness for anything that is stitchy related and is a gift, was gifted to you or has the word gift in it.

Gifted Gorgeousness for August

Jo over at       Serendipitous Stitching  has a monthly SAL where we show things that we received as gifts, are giving as gifts or that fit into the gift category...
I have been trying to work on this butterfly as I think it would make a lovely postcard.
I must remember to avoid stitching over one...At least if I want it to be an "easy, take-a-long " project.

Gifted Gorgeousnes June and International Hermit and Stitch Weekend

I have been working on this block in the evening instead of starting a new Mill Hill bead kit. This will be a gift for my daughter, if I ever finish it!
I have plenty left to do on this block and it will eventually be part of a crazy quilt.
Jo over at       Serendipitous Stitching   hosts this SAL. We are supposed to post progress on things we have been given or are going to give as gifts. It is a great excuse to  work on all those gifted projects.
I am thinking about gifting one of these Quaker Balls to my husband's aunt. She is in her 90's and I need to get started! But do I have the right fabric? NO!
The pattern is by Amaryllis Artworks. I have a friend who stitched one and it is lovely.
One last thing: I joined the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend. Full explanation is  HERE  .
I will be stitching on Reptiles as it is my weekend rotation piece.
I will also be working on Uncle Sam's Hat.

April Gifted Gorgeousness

I found this piece and thought it would be a nice change from my Mill Hill kits. It is Butterfly by Alesandra Adelaide. This is where I left it last in 2012, I do believe:
Scary! Here is is today:
I am using a floss that I dyed and a scrap of fabric using one thread over one. Hopefully the fabric is large enough!

Gifted Gorgeousness is hosted by Serendipitous Stitching. It is a Stitch-a-Long that is for pieces that you have seen gifted, you are going to gift or can find a way to shoe horn into the fun. I think I will give the stitched piece away. (When it gets stitched!)

Today is Gifted Gorgeousness!

I had hoped to finish the last Magi, but it was not to be. But I have been stitching on a piece that I will eventually give away!
But before I go any further Jo at Serendipitous Stitching
has this lovely stitch-a-long where you post things you have received as gifts, are stitching as gifts or has even the slightest thing to do with gifts! We all receive such lovely things from each other and it is fun to see what others are stitching.
Here is my piece:
A little too Halloweenie for me to keep, but I have several members of my family who would be happy to have this one or one of the others I have in my stash. And they are very bright and a fast stitch.
I am super busy the next few days and am having a difficult time finding stitching time for my large projects. Anyone else in my same boat? What do you do about it?

Gifted Gorgeousness and TUSAL

Jo over at Serendipitous Stitching hosts this stitch a long. You are supposed to stitch things that are gifts-either gifted to your or you are gifting to someone else. I stretched it as Balthasar is bringing a gift to the Christ Child. That counts, right?
I have managed to do some beading, but I need a new Mill Hill project to carry along when I need a small project.
Today is also TUSAL by Daffy Cat
You share your orts from the month. It is totally useless, but fun to see what everyone else is doing. Crazy, I know. Here is my jar:
