Been WAY too long!!!

Hey everyone,

So it has been way too long since I have posted anything. My blogging fell off of the face of the earth by I haven't. I have been really busying working and haven't had a lot of time for crafting. It's been one of my goals to get back in to it this year. It brings me soooo much joy and I need to carve out time to do what fills my heart. We moved back at the end of April and I actually have some of my supplies pulled out.

So this morning I worked on a few different cards. I am submitting this card for the Frame It challenge over at Incy Wincy Designs.  http://incywincydesigns.blogspot.ca

It was just a quick bit of time but here is one of the cards that I came up with :

I love how this card turned out. It is a Whipper Snapper image and some old MME paper. I used my Tombow watercolour markers to color the image. What do you think? I would love to know.

Take care
Alexis

Happy Birthday

Happy Monday, too!!
Today after work I sat down at the craft table and this is what I came up with :
I used the current sketch over at the My Mind's Eye blog.
I turned the sketch on it's side.
I used a combination of Fine and Dandy & Stella and Rose patterned paper.
The challenge is to also use an "April Showers" theme.

Whenever I think of "April Showers" my mind always finishes that thought off with "Brings May Flowers". My birthday and my daughters birthday are in May - so I went with a birthday card.

There is also a wonderful childhood memories challenge going on over at Paper Sundaes. The challenge is sponsored by Mo Manning - one of my all time favorite artists - so I knew I had to play along.

I remeber having a blue party dress when I was a little girl. I always wanted to wear it but my mom always said that it was for Special Occassions only. I would wake up extra early on school days - quickly slip it on, in hopes that my mom wouldn't notice. She always did!! And I always ended up having to change. So funny that I remember that. What a great memory.

Anyways, enough reminiscing about old times...
I did take a snap shot of the copics used :

Snap shot of the sentiment - love rub-ons

and I added dimension to the balloons with diamond glaze :

Well, I should run and get dinner ready.
Have a great day!!

Mojo Monday Creation

Hello fellow crafters!!

I have a card to show you today that I love. This is the first time that I have inked up this little cutie from Whippersnapper and the first time that I have used this paper from MME called Fine and Dandy.
Love getting to use new products! Yeah!!
And I even managed to incorporate the current sketch over at the Mojo Monday Blog!!
So, the reasoning for my card is obviously not so good. The lady that I work with; fell on Christmas Eve and broke her hip. OUCH!! And I am going to visit her today. I wanted to make a special card to show her how much she will be missed at work, while she is off. I know she'll love it and I hope she has a speedy recovery because we already miss her a lot!!

Hope you like...

My Mind's Eye

Hey Everyone,

It's been a while. There's 3 main factors for that :
1. working full time now, ugg!!
2. home life has been crazy busy, end of the school year, cars issues ect.
3. my dad had borrowed my camera and so I wasn't able to take any photos recently

But I'm hoping to be able to get into a more regualr posting schedual. HOPEFULLY. But I shall not hold my breath as I don't want to be disappointed in myself.

I still have been working on different creative projects and classes. I will be posting those over the next few days.

But for today I am going to show you one of my favourite cards as a late. I created this cutey using the adorale So Sophie papers from My Minds Eye (love them) and the new Bye Bye Boy stamps from Stampin' Bella.

I colored the image using my Copic markers.
Close-up of the coloring :
And don't cha just luv this sentiment. I adore the Dr.Suess book, so when I saw it - I had to have it.

This book has become a bit of a tradition as I grew up. All of us kids, my brothers and sisters and I, all received this book as a graduation gift. It's a pretty good and inspiring story. It makes me smile everytime I think of it. I think I will keep the tradition going and gift this book to my daughter when she graduates.

My Mind's Eye Blog is having a contest to use this sketch and the idea of "I remember..."
and I am going to submit this card. I'll keep my fingers crossed for the big prize - 3 whole lines. Ooo - I would love to do some creating with more MME papers.

Anyways, that's all I have time for tonight. Take Care.
