Summer Whimsy

  • I had no idea this piece would be an abstract.
  • The fun of the colors and details took over and this is what showed up on the paper.
  • Some of the fun is experiencing the part of me come to life that vanished when someone told me:
  • Trees aren't pink
  • mountains are not that pointy
  • this is how to draw a flower

In those moments of someone thinking they knew what I was suppose to do with my art,  my innocence and freedom vanished. I am loving getting it back. It has a feeling of vitality and endless possibilities.

( I am not sure how I got those dots to the left of my words... so i am not sure how to remove them)

Flower Fairy

Everywhere she went
rays of light danced and flickered

a painting from the course I am taking with Pävai Eerola
I am enjoying her lessons and the multitude of layers that go into them.

Abstract Realm

While laying low this week
And in between chores
I drew
Layers and layers of colored pencils
Hours and hours of drawing, and it is a small piece.
5.5x6"
Really fun to feel into it as it came to life, what is my spirit expressing?
So different for me, I think.
Maybe I needed some color in our deeply gray winter wonderland…...

Lovely weekend and beyond to you

Little Gal

hello all,

I use to draw and paint faces often.

Decided it would be enjoyable to do a few this week.

Felt so good to do art.

This little gal decided to live in our world as art ;-)

sketching and embellishing upon what I see

a lovely dancer upon a rock
moving to the rhythm of the flowing waters

The Gift

Tis the season of gift giving

generosity

care

thoughtfulness and so much more

really it is what we make of it

and

inspires how to embrace all the days to come

~

May the sparkles of winter's snowflakes

touch your heart

a most pristine gift

Lovely holidays to you~

Inktober #1

It is that time of year, Inktober.

An ink drawing a day is done by artists all over the world.

I will be happy if I do one a week, but maybe I will get into more of an art groove and surprise myself.

It felt so good to do art again.
The gaps between pieces are too big for my liking ;-)

Here we have a little yogini,
doing her blissful thing in nature.

Sylvan Wreath

The autumn king of the northwest woods

Lay down his crown to rest and dream upon the pebble strewn mossy carpet of forest floor

Opening his heart to the permeation of birdsong

He came under the spell of the charms
Charms dangling within the branches of leaves

Made by the wood witch of the northwest woods

Fungi Fantasy Landscape

it is so nice
how i can count on
fantasy fungi drawing/painting
to be enjoyable

~

I have put hours of time into the following piece:

I can't find my way to the end of it.
There is (imitation) gold leaf, texture, layers of shading, work on details in hair and background.
She was enjoyable, but.....

does that ever happen to you?
in anything you do?

Reflection

quietly
deeply
she sat
until the light of the candle's flame
reminded her of her own light
~

i came across a sketch i did a while back:

I let it inspire this painting
what the first photo does not show is that there is an iridescent
gold  aura around the fairy and the candles flame, oh well
~

thank you for a wonderful month Alaya!

Musical of the Universe

born
with music in the pores of her skin
within her bones
&
even the threads of her hair
are held the songs of the universe

The Unfolding of a Drawing

first there is a feeling
an idea
an inner image
sometimes the shape of a face
the width of her eyes
or perhaps the thought of a walking stick

then a sketch begins to come to life

another wanderer
with her walking stick
protective hat
and energy auras that travel with her
offering insight
wisdom
and kinship
she walks in the ways of the elders
~
(sorry the final image is blurry)

recently,
asked if any of her readers would like a cloth bookmark
made by her

yes, i said
look what arrived in the mail:

it looks even more wonderful in person!
my tai chi teacher once gave me feedback:
look up

Thank you Annie!

Election's Eve

as a dear friend replaced my plumbing today
i found myself drawing a Buddist monk

in meditation
~
i thought about our country
the USA
our election tomorrow

my heart leans towards all hearts
may we consider the best path
for all life
on planet earth
 ~
may we consider paths that support life
of trees
 of flowers
 fungi
and critters
all people

may peace and health and love
reign on earth

with love,
Tammie

Depth of Quiet

the depth of quiet
eternal
rich
sublime
~
*

so interesting to draw/paint her
as above, a meditative expression

and

then to lay her this way:

she slept amongst the flowers
feeling the soil as her flesh
resting in the embrace of eternity
nourished in stillness sublime
