Last Inktober piece

On Samhain he stepped into the woods to visit the tall cup fungi.
Low and behold, a tiny fairy was there, tossing spores into the air.

It was fun to let Inktober inspire art.
I hope I am in a rhythm now and will continue creating.

I hope you all enjoyed Halloween
and
are embracing the shorter days
colder weather
and lovely autumn light

Wood Witch, Blessed Samhain and Happy Halloween to You!

the sylvan dwellers be charmed
a land where life thrives
all have the gift of living
in the flow
of life
 from the essence of where
breath is born

all be kin
trees, critters, land, air and she
for the wood witch
thrives in harmony

~
this is the last day of inkTober
it has been a fun daily challenge for me
to breathe life into a new drawing a day

it might be time to pick up the paints and color

Wishing you all a lovely Samhain, Beltane
and
Halloween!

Blessings of Samhain to You

though autumn filled her days
and nights
she became a nest of new life for Samhain

~

a bit of information about Samhain:

*this year it is celebrated from
sunset on October 31 to sunset on November 1, almost halfway between the autumn equinox and the winter solstice.

*It is one of the four Gaelic seasonal festivals, along with Imbolc, Beltane, and Lughnasadh.

*It's considered a liminal time, when the veil between life and death grows thin.

*Samhain is pronounced "sah-win" or "sow-in."

*it is one of the original festivals behind the holiday we know as Halloween

*As it was believed that faeries, witches, and demons roamed the earth on Samhain, food and drink were customarily set out to placate them. Later on, people began dressing up as these creatures and claiming the goodies for themselves, sometimes performing antics or tricks in exchange for food and drink.

Swinging to Her Own Tune

there's a witch hanging from the moon

sitting on her broom

swinging swaying to her own tune

looking down on the earth

across the universe

she spies a bird in flight

is filled with delight

noting that is

another way to fly

across the sky
walking in the forest
the other day
i looked up to see this
Great Grey Owl
looking into my eyes

Wishing you a wonderful
Samhain
and
Halloween

Celebrating Samhain ~ Summer's End

born with a heart of knowing
remained due to upbringing
between
owls hoots and wolves singing
wisdom of bears and birds tweeting
call of the wind and water flowing
witch full of natures knowing
veils between seen and unseen now thinning
wisdom available reminds of hearts knowing
tis the season of internal remembering
~

Wishing you a wonderful Halloween
and Samhain Celebration!

also, in the actual piece of art, her hair is not orange,
