Today

Today TLo asked loudly (at the crowded skating rink), “Mom, how old are you?”

To which TBO replied (in a bellow), “She’s 53.”

Thanks.  No.  Really.  Thanks.

Time for some music.  Unfortunately, watching this video makes me feel… about 53.

Good grief.  Baby-faces.  Remember when you were that young?  It’s slipping away from me.  But then, apparently I’m 7 years younger than my own mother.  I probably have some kind of dementia.

  1. Ian's not even PRETENDING to play that guitar!

Kids these days! When we were in Europe, some very sweet, young Belgian girl who spent a couple days with us wondered if our drummer was the SON of our guitar player and his wife! ???!!! Never mind that they look NOTHING alike, logically Japanese traveling together (in a rock band) must be a family unit. ?!?! (there's an eight year difference, by the way)

  3. LMAO!

When Syo was in kindergarten, at the end of the yea they did "interviews" with each kid for their kindergarten yearbook. One of the questions asked was "How old do you think Mme (the teacher, probably in her late 40s or early 50s) is?"

Guesses ranged from 13 to 80.

I'm just happy to have reached an age where people are no longer surprised by the fact that I have kids---just by how old my kids are. /sigh.
