Cursed City: Glaurio Ven Alten

Hi all.

We have finally finished every model in the Cursed City box tonight!

Glaurio Ven Alten is finished (as we near the end of the game). Glaurio has not seen action as part of the main Quest, but I am looking forward to using him in the expansions which we will hopefully see by the end of the year.

Loved painting this one, and the head torch magnifying glasses were a great help

Warhammer Quest: Cursed City made to order

Hi all

As you may well be aware, Cursed City is back and made to order (for now). So if you haven’t got it yet you can head over to Games Workshop and secure yourself a copy.

This game sold out online in less than 10 minutes last time, and left a lot of collectors disappointed (shows how popular the game was). Fortunately Games Workshop have decided to do another batch and continue with the expansions (which I for one can’t wait for).

Lauren and I are only 6 missions from the end now, and have fortunately not lost a single hero yet. Good thing is once completed, we can play through with the kids from start to finish too when they are about a year or two older.

Models have been a joy to paint (only 1 hero left to finish which should be this week).

It’s almost been a year since our first game with unpainted models. Kids did understand the rules very well back then too.

Cursed City: Radukar the Wolf completed

Hi all, with Cursed City rerelease round the corner we have made a further push to complete our foes.

Radukar the Wolf was quite an intimidating model to paint for me. I really can’t get fur right half of the time so just tend to hate painting them.

I do love a red cloak after purchasing a wet palette.

So now we just have 1 friendly to complete until all models are done :)

Cursed City: Ulfenwatch

Hi all

So I have finished my Ulfenwatch.

So I undercoated them black.
The Armour is Drybrushed up with Lupercal Green, followed by semi edge / chipping highlighting of 1:1 Lupercal green and Dawnstone.

Shield is simply Runelord Brass, followed by a agrax earthshade wash, then a thin wash of Nihilakh Oxide, with a further sporadic agrax Earthshade wash with a light drybrush of Runelord Brass again.

Robes and cloak were Gal Vorbak, layered up with 1:1 GalVorbak/Word Bearer, followed by a further Word Bearer red edge highlight.

Great models to paint and assemble.

Cursed City: 2x games in

Hi all

I have managed to have two games and a tutorialso far of this great game. We played the Tutorials first and these were very simple. Really helped us understand the game quickly.

The first proper mission (a hunt) was next. Lauren and I played it for 4 hours as we got used to the rules. We managed to win as the hostiles level was 0 (as we were beginners).  It was good fighting some of the bosses, and the game has a slight Zombicide feel to it which is good.

I then played my second game with my 6 year old this morning. He really grasped the rules quickly and it held his attention for the whole 2 hours (he is normally quite fidgety lol).

Really enjoying the game so far and can imagine getting all the expansions too!

Cursed City: Unboxing

Hi all

Just a quick boat to share our unboxing video.

Now we will be getting onto the painting of these beautiful minis :)

Cursed City: Assembly Guide

The Cursed City assembly guide.

Just look at this. I honestly believe there should be an award given to Brutogg’s designer. He is so talented to have it so all the multiple limbs go together so well without the need for glue!

Errata

But it now!! Such a great box.

Cursed City: The 60 models assembled.

Hi all

We are very fortunate to have been sent a review copy of Cursed City.

We have been assembling the models over the last three nights and reading the background and it is brilliant. I think GW really have pulled it out of the bag with this game.

The heroes:
(The Kharadron actually comes with an errata in the box), we did notice at least one other numerical order on the assembly guide though.

So the boxed game is as deep as the Blood Bowl box which shocked me.

Models like the Skeletons and zombies actually have been designed very cleverly. Imagine for back and rear arm model 1 and model 2, the frontages of these can be swapped round with either 1 or 2 to make two very different models (same with the backs of the zombies).

The Vampire models are great too.

The Wolf and hi Ogor guard:
Mysterious objectives. I really like the felines!!

The Chamberlain and his host!

We will be putting up our unboxing video later tonight :)
