Dream Debutante Dress - I love the idea of picking out a deb dress.
In fact, you so inspired me, I created a whole board on Pinterest. VIEW HERE Fantasy-wise, I think I’m going to go with
this one:
I like how sleek and modern it is, and the contrast orange/red piping goes well with the LEVEL 2 cover.

Notes from a YA Debutante
Usborne is throwing me a launch party for
the UK edition of LEVEL 2 in London on January 10, 2013, and I really do want
to wear a white dress. Let’s see if I can find one IRL!
Sarah (Posh Deluxe) of Forever Young Adult has
this great idea for a party where authors come dressed up like the models on
their book covers. I think I could pull off the high ponytail, but probably not
the tube dress.
Fun fashion fact from LEVEL 2: In LEVEL 2,
Felicia wears a white shift like all the other drones. In her memories, she wears more normal
clothes – jeans and a sweater; a yellow sundress. There is one outfit that is
different in the UK edition because my UK editor felt the outfit I chose for
Felicia wasn’t in style in the UK.
But my favorite character to dress in LEVEL
2 was Mira, one of the rebels in LEVEL 2. I got my inspiration for her crazy
outfits from my trip to Reykjavik, Iceland. Think shredded ballgown over a pair
of skinny jeans.

Bookie's Note: Lenore you have honestly taken picking a dream debutante dress to a whole new level! The ones you've pinned are absolutely beautiful and I agree white with the orange piping matched the cover of Level Two perfectly! Best of luck with finding an actual debutante dress! :P
Make sure to come back tomorrow for the second half of Lenore's feature! We have some juicy secrets lined up and a fantastic giveaway!
Badass Bookie xx
Love the sound of Level 2 and Lenore is lovely, I can't wait to read her debut and get to know her a little but better :) Will be sure to swing by tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great post! And congrats to Lenore on the upcoming release! I was lucky to get a ARC of Level 2 and I *luvd* it!!!!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to meet Lenore in January at her book launch. I'm so excited to read Level 2 as well :D
ReplyDeleteI feel like that cut would not be flattering to my arms, but I love how well you would match Level 2!
ReplyDeleteThanks everyone! And Christina - that's why I am doing a major arm toning workout (in my dreams, lol)
ReplyDeleteVery chic dress!
ReplyDeleteI loved the dress 3rd from the left in the top row! Not too formal/floaty in my opinion!
So jealous that Lenore has been to over 60 countries. I'm also super excited for Level 2 :)
I can't wait for this book! And that's taking debut dresses to the second level (excuse the pun!) Nice quirk about the dresses too. Now I'm going to have to buy both editions to see the differences!
ReplyDeleteOoh nice dress! It's very bold and stylish... I like it! :) It matches the cover perfectly and I can't wait to see the different characters and clothing used in the novel. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, that dress matches the cover perfectly!
ReplyDeleteAnd I love the snippet about the US/UK edition differences - it's always fascinating to compare and discover differences apart from the spelling.
Such a beautiful dress. I am doing my debutante ball next year and have just bought my debutante dress. I cant wait till the big night now :)
ReplyDeleteRegards,
Merryn Stanton
The dress looks really futuristic! I love it!
ReplyDeleteThe idea for a party where authors come dressed up like the models on their book covers is actually something to look forward to. And that dress is very Level 2-ish! :D
ReplyDeleteI saw Lenore's board a while ago and am so happy she chose that dress! It was one of the two I liked and thought looked very "Level 2-esque."
ReplyDeleteWe should make it our mission to find Lenore this dress above!
ReplyDeleteGreat little inside peek :)
I'd love to be able to pull off a shredded gown over skinny jeans. Great post Lenore!
ReplyDeleteLenore I'm envious...60 countries!!! Congrats on your debuting book ;)
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Liked how the dress matched Level 2's cover! :) I think it's the perfect fit. BUT since I'm enjoying these deb dress picks...I'm heading over to Lenore's Pinterest to see more.
ReplyDeleteI really liked that you found a dress to match the cover of your book. It looks great! As do the other dresses on the pinterest board.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everyone else that it's really cool you picked a dress to go with your cover. It certainly is beautiful,I just shy away from those kinds of dresses since there's no way I'm pulling off the tube look. LOL
ReplyDeleteCongrats on getting your book published, I can't wait to read it.
I am so excited to read Level 2! Love the dress!
ReplyDeleteI'm liking the whole shredded ballgown over skinny jeans..I now know where I should go looking for more fun fashion ideas, Iceland : )
ReplyDeleteYes, that dress totally matches the cover! Recently I read about how certain phrases were changed to match the local slangs between the US/Aus versions of the book. It's interesting to know that even clothing items get changed. o.o
ReplyDeleteI love the dress and the shoes! Lol, I can't figure out which one I'd want more :)
ReplyDeleteMy deb dress (not that they would ever be dumb enough to let my clumsy, snorting butt be a deb) would be so not deb-like. They might have picked me, but they would kick me out once they saw the dress!
ReplyDeletei loved the 2nd dress its lovely... :)
