Okay fine. I will post something else. I have just enjoyed rolling around in the victory mud with Barack for the last 10 days (oh wait -- that doesn't sound right)...

What I meant was it warms my little Democratic heart to see his picture front and center when I log in. And to everyone who didn't vote for him:

"It's going to be okay."

For reals, y'all. For reals.

P.S. What's the deal with Uggs? I'll tell you what the deal is -- they are fugly as all get out. Maybe if I lived in Utah or Idaho I would feel differently...but then again, I'd still have eyes, so probably not.

What do you mean what is the deal with Uggs? Those were "in" a few years ago. Are they back in? I don't really keep up with the trends these days, but you are right, they are NOT attractive. Especially not on someone with short stubby legs like myself.

Heck if I know, but I still saw them EVERYWHERE last year when we were in Utah and Idaho. And now my ultra cool college age sister said she wants Uggs for Christmas. She was kidding, because they're like $200 -- at least I THINK she was kidding, 'cuz (snort!) WE'RE STILL IN THE ARMY PEOPLE!

Crud, this is Nicole, not Boone.

wow! people still wear Fuggs?
we're still over here wearing flipflops here in November... (OK, sorry, I just had to throw in that "nanananana!! shot over your way)

My favorite is the trend down here in Texas. I saw this in the summer mind you. Uggs with SHORT mini skirts???? UGLY! Ya aren't those a little too hot (temp wise) to be wearing in the summer in Houston? I guess some people will do anything for an awesome trend like uggs!

I am happy to say that the Uggs haven't seemed to catch on here in Europe. Yet another reason for you to join us here.... (I'll wear you down eventually, mwahahahaha!)

Yeah, I've been seeing Uggs with leggings and micro-mini's on all the teenagers as they walk past our house to school. Very classy.
With that said, um, I like Uggs. I don't own them because I'd have to buy an entirely new wardrobe to keep up with the hipness of them. But one day...

I'm glad you clarified that it was Nicole talking, not Boone...because I never claimed to want Uggs....even though I am college aged and very cool.

As a former high school teacher, I can attest that Uggs are indeed still very trendy. And the mini-skirt with leggings and Uggs trend is very much alive in PA, too. I think they look very silly, but I have to admit they do look kind of comfy, don't they? Very soft and fluffy...like slippers for outside!

All I know is that Grandpa still wears UGGS and that alone would keep me from ever wearing them. They are still popular, mostly because people out here seem to need massive validation (and by that I mean validation by the masses) before they will do something.

And... good thing we moved and you posted like a bazillion new posts since last I checked. Best way to spend my evening NOT getting around to certain superhero capes. Even better that your Anniversary post was so well written that now I'm SNOTTING. Thanks a lot.

Anyone who has seen me since I got married can attest to the fact that the last thing I care about or am aware of is fashion and trends, but I must confess I sport a pair of hand-me down UGGS any Sunday that it is really snowy and I don't feel like wearing panty-hose. Granted, my long skirts hide most of the boot but boy are my legs all snug and cozy. Oh ya.

I don't think it was THAT well written -- I think you are like 53 weeks pregnant and maybe a teensy bit emotional:) Just a tad though.

Biff:

See, here's the part where you have lived in the freaking arctic areas of the U.S. while I have been sweating like a pig in the south. It's annoying to me to wear socks at this point. Maybe when I live somewhere cold I will sort of "get it", but I am crossing my fingers that they will finally have died at that point.

But I guess if you have spent $200 on slippers you'll keep on wearing them and insisting they are trendy. Yuck. I choose to be frumpy(er).

G'pa: I know you are reading this (even though you never comment)and you get a pass, because you are so cool in every other way that your UGGS kind of add to your charm. Or something:)

nice Nicole, you managed to diss your sisters AND your grandpa in one post, but I think I can beat you. I've systematically alienated my entire immediate family on my blog.

Dawn said...

Here is Texas they skip the leggins. Just the micro mini skirts and uggs. It is the summer....so they wouldn't want to get hot with the leggins....

I didn't diss my g'pa or my sisters Emi! I just questioned the aesthetic appeal of a particular style of footwear that some of them apparently own. UGGS are ugly, the people wearing then are not (necessarily).

I don't see why anyone thinks they are "stylish", but then again, I don't see why anyone thinks "Palin 2012" is a good idea...soooo...yeah...

To each their own -- peace to all UGGS lovers and haters alike (told you I was liberal:)

touché. to each his/her own (of course, I am the proud mother of a boy who's the owner of a couple pairs of pimped out crocs, so who am I to talk?)

hey, have you noticed I always seem to stop the post conversation? wow. I'm so awesome like that. people always leave when I show up and butt into a convo.

Your widget isn't keeping up with my blog. Not that I put anything up there that you haven't heard me whine about already, but...

Nicole. Email me. You and I need to have an e-discussion about last night's teen-fueled, angst-ridden, chastity-fest that we both went and saw at the Breaking Dawn...um, I mean, break OF dawn.
