I'm linking to their parties today!!!

Like I said yesterday,
I didn't get to do as much garage saleing (yes, that is how I spell it) and thrifting as I wanted to.

Still though I got to hit up about 5 garage sales Saturday and ran by Goodwill yesterday afternoon.

Spice Rack - $2

I tried to talk the lady down to $1 but she refused! I'd never met someone so set on the price of a small ticket item. She was a cute old lady so I bought the piece anyway.

I really love it although I'm not totally sold on its location. What do you think about it propped up on the counter? Should I paint it? If so, I'm thinking a variation of kelly green!

Books - $2.00 (total)

I am trying to find some good child-friendly history/science books with great pictures that I can put in frames in Ethan's room. He's way into the History Channel and the Discovery Channel so that's the theme I'm going with in his room.

Indoor plant book - $ .75

Last but not least {cause it's my FAVORITE} a book about indoor plants.

It is absolutely beautiful!
You can tell somebody really loved it, the binding is very loose but the pages are still in place. Judging by the dates on the inside, this was first published in 1970 and I scored the 1975 reprint of it. Still... it fits perfectly on my sofa table.

Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to get in some quality thrifting/garage saleing time!

~~ I just found another thrifting link party at Apron Thrift Girl's place! Run by there and show her some love! ~~

Three great classic books and Bunco - $8

(kinda pricey but they were REALLY sweet people, I just couldn't talk 'em down)

Artichoke - $3

This is my FAVORITE find of the day!

A large world map from 1965 to hang in Ethan's room - $2.00

**Editor's Note: Just googled this map! I found a paper version (new) for $49.95. Mine isn't new and has been glued to partical board but still - it's a STEAL!

I went Goodwilling again...

I think Goodwill got word that I was going to write them a scathing letter about their lamp prices and did the right thing and lowered their prices.

I'm intimidating that way, I suppose.

I saw this puppy while looking for some vintage Christmas stuff...

You like?

I tell ya, it fits my living room much better than what was there before.

Look at how much it cost... $5.00!!

(sorry about the poor picture quality...
I'm not a photographer and couldn't figure out
how to get the shot without using my camera's aquarium setting.)

Slowly but surely, our home is coming together.

Goodwilling

I've been Goodwilling again!

This time I didn't come away with anything...

...but, 14 year old Amanda would have left with this stack of CDs! Can you believe they had All-4-One, Alanis Morissette, Jamiroquai, Robyn, La Bouche, and Blackstreet for only $3 each!?

I would have been all over those back in the day!

Speaking of, I would have been all over the Doc's too!

Did you ever wear Dr. Martin sandals? They were the rage in NW Arkansas!

This demands an explanation. Why would Goodwill try to sell this?! What on earth is it?!

I almost bought this. It was $1.

I have neither a canary nor record player...so, for once, good judgement took the better of me and I passed it up.

Last but not least, I present to you evidence of the ridiculously priced lamps at my Goodwill. If you can see the very blurry price tag, it says $15.00 with a GIANT immovable sticker next to it.
