Art Inspires Art

 
One of my students put a lot of extra time and effort into his paper mache dragon.  It was so much fun to watch the progression of the project. He was very proud of it.
 
I love it when students take off with an idea and make it become a reality. I enjoyed it so much, it inspired me to do a watercolor painting of his creature to give to him.

Dragon's Eyes - UP CLOSE!

Students continued their exploration of watercolor media by using watercolor pencils to complete their close ups of a dragon's eye.  This project tied in with the legend of the Koi fish.

Dragon Eye Up Close!


We created our own versions of a close up of a dragon eye.  Students chose from a few different reference pictures that were printed to use for inspiration. After they competed their pencil drawings they were able to explore using watercolor pencils as the finishing medium.  I hope to post some of their finished pieces later.
