winter holidays

i'm hosting the new two-week challenge at tag tuesday and given the date, i've chosen "winter holidays" as my theme. the month of December alone has multiple holidays everything from Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day to Bill of Rights Day to more familiar holidays like Solstice, Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa. at least that is what my research revealed! please feel free to create a tag on whatever December/winter holiday you choose! here are some tags celebrating Christmas.

the first three tags feature images and papers from gecko galz. on the fourth, the background is gecko galz and the nutcracker images came from plum soul studio.

i hope you will make time to pick your favorite winter holiday and play along!

love to all.

tag tuesday christmas in july

our beloved design team member at tag tuesday, pinky, has decided to encourage us/torture us with the new two week theme of "christmas in july." for those who love to get a head start on holiday creating, "you're welcome" (LOL!) and if you are like me, just struggle along and join us in the challenge!

once i started playing around with some of my holiday images i found something that made me feel a bit inspired, so here is my first tag.

i suppose it is not a tag in the traditional sense (?) but the cardboard sheet music i found in my holiday box of goodies was calling out to be a tag base. i believe the image is from gecko galz.

i hope you find something in your stash that inspires you to create! please join us! i'll be back in a few days with more...

love to all.

tags of christmas

i hope you've been checking out the gecko galz customer challenge blog -- every day this month there is a beautiful new tag celebrating the winter holidays.  today i have a christmas tag for you.

supplies: gecko galz blue christmas collage sheet; gecko galz blue christmas paper pack; reindeer brad from eyelet outlet; rickrack and ribbon; sentiment diecut; tag base.

instructions: i covered my tag base with paper from the blue christmas set and distressed the edges.  i fussy cut the tree and santa from the collage sheet and glued them down along with the die cut sentiment.  i added the rick rack and ribbon and the reindeer brad.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

how to play along with our "dashing through the snow" customer challenge: make your holiday tag -- but you must use at least one item by gecko galz.  if you sign up for the monthly gecko galz newsletter you'll get a free collage sheet every month.  sign up at the blog here, on the top left. there are also wonderful freebies at the gecko galz pinterest page. and there are always wonderful deals at the etsy shop -- and if you are a newsletter subscriber you'll also get notice of the special one buck wednesday deals! for this challenge your deadline to link up is december 29.

i'm also linking this to the "christmas memories" challenge at tag tuesday.  visiting santa and decorated trees are definitely in my happy memory collection!

love to all.

winter wonderland!

it is a winter wonderland -- some places anyway, just icy cold out my way.  anyway the december customer challenge at gecko galz is winter wonderland and i'm sharing a collaged card with lots of gecko galz images to provide some inspiration for you to join the challenge.

the background paper is from gecko galz  and the images are from several collage sheets -- "christmas icons I," "christmas icons II," "december magic," and "holiday ladies."  the only non gecko galz items are the snowflake border and lace.

link up a creation dealing with winter -- it does not have to pertain to a holiday, and make sure there is at least one image from gecko galz.  best wishes!

i'll also be linking this up to the 12 days of christmas linky party for unruly paper arts.  12 days of christmas crafting joy!

love to all.
