TS Monday - Anything but a card!

***Scroll down to see my MFT Teaser day 6 post***

Hello again and Happy Monday!!! This week on the Totally Stampalicious blog, we are challenging you to create anything BUT a card! Perfect time to make a cute little something for Easter, right?! I decided to go the birthday route and use one of the super cute penguins from the Party Penguins newly released set. I just adore them! I have to admit, I can NOT throw away a good container! Anything that looks like it has any hope of being repurposed, I keep! This was an almond container that I've had for, oh, I'm not sure how long! I simply added some designer paper, colorful ribbons and a sentiment on top and DONE!

Here's a pic of the top which was cut out using nesties. The sentiment is from the Sweet Birthday kids Bugaboo set.

Thanks for stopping by!!! Have a great week!

CASEing myself

Hi all! Today over on SCS, the challenge is to pick one of your own cards and CASE it! I went waaayyy back to March 2008 and picked THIS CARD. I kept the layout because I love it! I used some old SU dp because I just received the pleated baja ribbon and cardstock. The cupcake and sentiment are from the Tag You're It stamp set by MFT. I stamped the chocolate part of the cupcake using 2nd generation stamping so that the sentiment would be visible since I used chocolate ink for both. I used nesties for the sentiment and added die-namic borders to two of the other layers.

The chocolate layer behind the sentiment was distressed. And see those tiny brads?! I bought a pack of these pastel brads about a month ago and was thrilled that they matched the baja! SCORE! ;)

Thanks for stopping by and see you tomorrow for a new TS Monday challenge!

TS Monday - Snow time!

*** This is my 2nd post of the day ~ the MFT Teaser post is below***

Well, hello again! I'm back for the Totally Stamp
alicious blog challenge which is to use snow on your project. I had to ink up these cuties, Deacon and Ava HoHo. The "HOHO" is paper pieced and everything else was colored with copics. I added some liquid applique to the little snowflakes around them. I also used a Martha Stewart snowflake to the center of my loopy bloom dienamic. The sentiment is from the Deacon Elf set.

I loved the December SFYTT sketch, so had to try it out! Thanks for taking a peek and don't forget the AWESOME sale going on at Totally Stampalicious!!!

TS Monday - 3D projects

Hiiiii! How's everyone?! By the time you're reading this, hopefully I'm well on my way to recouping from our middle son's baseball tournament! Getting up at 5:45 am for a baseball game on a Sunday just isn't right... {we had to get up that early to allow him time to get ready, eat and get to the field 45 min. before game time... yea, good times} On to my project...
The Totally Stampalicious challenge this week is a 3D project. I HAD to make this Christmas Shopping List Holder after I saw THIS POST by the mega talented, Jessie Rone. So fun and sooo easy! Before you ask, don't you love my wonky stitching?! Yep, totally on purpose... again! The straight stitching on the bottom layer is faux {let's be real, folks...} I decided to use the newly released Margaret December because she kind of looks how I'm going to feel after all the Christmas shopping I need to do, ha! She's colored with copics and has accents of silver gel pen. I popped her up on a nestie and added some bling. The sentiment is included with her set. Did I mention we have a TOTALLY awesome sale going on that involves FREE STAMPS?!?!? Read all about it HERE...

On the inside left is more dp and a pocket to hold your receipts. On the right is a notepad for all those naughty and nice lists. :)

Thanks for taking a peek and be sure to check out what the rest of the crew has for you! {links are on the right--->}

An Easter card

Hi!!! Here's an Easter card I made using a new PI, who I think is sold out at the moment - just tried looking for her on the site and couldn't find her! Anywho, I paper pieced her dress and colored everything else with copics. Used some dp I've had a while (yay!) and ruffled some ribbon around the edges. Nesties, sponging and brads finish it up. I made this using a sketch from MFT and for Flourishes release challenge.

Thanks for stopping by!

All is quiet...

On the home front... boys are at Mawmaw's and hubby is defending our country (active duty Air Force!). So what am I doing??? BLOGGING!!! Ha! Had to share a card I made yesterday. Ain't she just so darn cute?! So happy to have my first MFT Pure Innocence stamp set! And that sentiment? Yep, stamped it out with the Banner Day Alphabet set that I won during MFT's release day party. *Love* the font! The sketch is from Jen Del Muro's SFYTT. This sweet girl is colored with copics and, of course, I had to paper piece her little purse. She was colored first, so when I came across this dp, oh, it could not have been more perfect!
Alright, well, I suppose I should do something productive around here! Thanks for peeking in!

Trio of challenges card!

Yes, people, I stamped AGAIN! Still busy, even though it's summer time, with baseball and the boys MAKING me take them to the pool, hehe! We've also been working on getting the house organized and prepping for a yard sale.
So, what are the challenges you ask??? Well, first is this weeks' CAS (Clean and Simple) challenge on SCS to use something that flies on your card. This is the first time I've used my SU bird punch and yes, it's too cool! Second is this weeks' color challenge on SCS ~ barely banana, mellow moss and real red. I barely (ha!) have any banana cardstock left and was more than happy to use up some moss that's been sitting for ages. I bought this new embossing folder a few weeks ago and, of course, am just now getting around to using it. Love the cool, modern feel to it. The third challenge is Mercy's sketch challenge (link to her blog is on the right). So, yes, basically, I didn't have to do too much thinking on this card, but I'm trying to find my groove again and it helps me if I do some challenges till I find my flow, kwim??? The only stamping is the little "hello" which is from a Flourishes set.
As always, thanks for stopping by!!!!

Summer time, summer time, yay for summer time!

Yes, school's out and I'm thrilled to have some stamping time again!!!! I don't remember the last time mojo and I sat down together, so I thought I'd start up with a couple of challenges to get the ol' juices flowing. This card uses the sketch challenge on Splitcoast for this week and also the Flourishes blog challenge, which you can check out HERE: http://www.flourishes.org/2010/06/sunshine-blue-skies-challenge/. The flowers are cut out and are up on dimensionals. I broke out some old SU dp (ok, so not that old, but still...) and used a border punch for the white strips. The scalloped oval was done using Spellbinders nesties and I also sponged around the embossed area for depth. I did the "wave" affect for the sentiment and finished it off w/ a button and some gingham I've had forever. My goal is to use what I have, well, now, except for stamp sets ~~ always need more of those *wink*! I just have so much paper and schtuff, know what I mean?!!! Thanks for stopping by!!!!

What have you done this summer?

I don't know about you, but I've been soaking up a little bit sun lately. We've had a little break from baseball (Hallelujah!!!) and have enjoyed taking it easy. We'll be heading out of town for a few days, but not to worry ~ I'll have some auto posts set up for the rest of the week ;}. On to the card~
I colored Charlie, or is it Charlene, w/ copic and SU markers. The grass was done w/ a copic, then I drew lines on it (so it looked 'grassier') w/ my olive SU marker. The sky was done by sponging using turquoise ink. This also uses some of the new SU In Color cardstock (love that some of them match this new Basic Grey dp called Lemonade!). Hope you like it and OH!!! Go check out what the CDS Design Team is up to ~ August Sneak Peeks!!!!!!! Too cute!!!!!!!!

2nd day of Elzybells UK Summer release!!

Well, whatcha think???? I wanted to show how one little stamp and a sweet sentiment could make a *supah cute* card sure to put a smile on someone's face!!! I think I accomplished that goal and hopefully you agree! That Sunflower is a new rubber single image being released on Thursday. I stamped it repeatedly and colored it with... can ya guess?? Nope, not copics! All SU markers! I used summer sun, pumpkin and cocoa. Now, this sentiment is actually 2 separate stamps that come in a new sentiment set called, Swirly Greetings. I guarantee that this will be your new *Go-To* set for many sentiments! It has 2 different fonts and covers many occasions from retirement and wedding to anniversary and graduation!!!!! It is AWESOME!!! To finish off the card, I used a corduroy button (that I've been hoarding for many months...) w/ a little hemp bow tied through it and brads on the corners. This is a 4.5 x 4.5 card, btw. Thanks so much for stopping by ~ hope ya liked it!!! Don't forget that the rest of the 'Belles have some gorgeous goodies for you to drool over, as well!

My first Charlie card

Ain't he cute? I was fortunate enough to get this sweet set from a very generous friend and I *adore* it!!! I made this for the Clear Dollar Stamps Guest Designer Challenge, which you can read about here: http://clearlyistamp.typepad.com/my_weblog/

I've had this designer paper, which I believe is from Crate Paper, FOREVER! Once I decided to keep the flowers white, this dp immediately came to mind and once I found it amongst all the other thousands of sheets of dp I have (please tell me I'm not alone on that one!), I knew it was perfect. The flowers on the smaller circles were stamped on white and cut out, then added to the blue circles. Charlie and the grass were colored w/ copics. The sky was watercolored and I used an SU marker for the flower centers. Such a fun layout! Thanks for stopping by!

Spring Elzy sneak peeks ~ Day 3!!

Ok, first, let me apologize for the late post! Now, here's my sneakie peekie for today! This one uses Parateddy! He looks like he's having a blast, doesn't he?! I, obviously, paper pieced his blankie. He's colored w/ a copic. This sentiment would be great for Easter, also. I pierced around the white layer and also pierced through the holes that were punched out using my new EK border punch. Hope you've enjoyed all the peeks and please go check out what the rest of the DT did!!!
It is gawgeous out today, so we're taking the kiddos fishing!! Have a wonderful Sunday!!!

Another Elzy challenge!

This week were were to decorate the inside of the card and also make a matching envelope. Such a cool idea! I've not caught on to the whole thing of decorating the inside of my cards, but I think it's a cool idea and may do this more often. It's a neat way to use the coordinating stamps in your sets. The single flower stamp on the envelope is the same stamp I used on the inside, except that I just stamped it in saffron so it didn't take away from the sentiment. Here's a link to check out what the rest of the DT did --- ELZYBELL challenge!!! Here's a close up of the main image:

Thanks for stopping by and please stop by tomorrow 'cuz it's SNEAK PEEK TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

Pink passion tulips w/ chocolate!

Sounds funny, huh? I forgot to mention the kiwi! Gorgeous color combo, right?! I love this little set and had yet to ink up this stamp and w/ the spring teaser weather we've had on and off, I thought I'd go w/ a *springy* card. The image is colored w/ SU markers, except for part of the basket, which I watercolored. It's layered behind the chocolate panel and the pink passion layer is up on pop dots. I cut out the circles w/ my nesties. This is a 4 1/4 square card, btw. I added some piercing and brads, plus I sponged around the edges of the pink passion.
Sorry to be so short, but I have to get ready for work! Thanks for stopping by!

Single layer Elzy challenge

Yep, time for another Elzybell fortnightly challenge! This time, Paula picked the challenge ~ to make a single layer card. I thought I'd do something besides a white card base, so I used pale plum. The teddy is colored in w/ markers and I paper pieced his pillow w/ some retired SU dp. I used my circle nesties to emboss him and pierced around the outer edge. For the bottom, I used the threading water (or is it treading??) scallop border punch from Fiskars. You know, the one that punches the little hole in each scallop? Well, I centered my $1 heart punch I'd gotten from Michael's over the hole so that now there's a little heart in each scallop. Love it when a plan comes together!! ha! It's the little things, right?! To sort of highlight each heart, I added a gem to the center on the inside of the card. Whatcha think??
Go to the Elzybell blog to see what the rest of the DT did ~ who'd have thought single layer cards could be so stinkin' adorable??!!!! Thanks for stopping by!
