A Still Quiet Place landscape painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

A Still Quiet Place landscape painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
I am at that place. A place of wondering what if... What if I paint something else. I can't begin to tell you how much I enjoyed this. First I painted in the calm soothing color then I went back and added the bright contrast. It was so relaxing and made me smile as I painted it. I hope you enjoy. 10x10, oil on gallery wrapped canvas.

Boat painting 2 boat painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

Boat painting 2 boat painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
Yet another painting done at Lake Martin. I painted these boats over a few days. It was so windy that we couldn't fish or do much else but it did not stop me from painting.

When The Air Is Cool landscape painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan

When The Air Is Cool landscape painting by Alabama Artist Angela Sullivan
The original painting is not quite this dark but close. 8x10 oil on canvas panel. I don't really know why I don't usually paint landscapes. I think just because it is an unfamiliar area for me. I hope you are patient with me if you are a follower as I branch out to another venue. Yes, yes I will soon paint still life again.

Close To The Beach

Close To The Beach
Boats are so interesting as they float gingerly upon the calm summer water.
They leave reflections of all kinds which make them much more appealing.
I just love them don't you?

Misty Lake

Misty Lake
Somewhere out there is a hidden lake where the water trickles down the
path of least resistance kinda like some peoples lives. That is the easy path.
I must admit somedays I do follow that path just because some days I am lazy but then
others I fight against the current. I stand up for what I believe and scream loudly in
protest against things that are wrong. I miss the days where morales were held sacred
and the people who held them high were thought of as good instead of bad.
Makes me wonder where we are headed.

Place of Solitude

Place of Solitude
Away in the woods someone sleeps but not for long. The little boat
awaits the long fishing day ahead. Surely this day will bring the big catch.
Somewhere deep in the dark water a monster is lurking but with the cast
of the right lure he won't be able to resist. At dusk the little boat will be
returned here to its place of solitude.

Ripples

Ripples
In the middle of the garden, nestled among the flowers is a
place of tranquility and peace. Only a chosen few even know
it exist. On a midsummer's day with the blowing of a gentle
breeze you can see the ripples on the waters surface
while below is tadpoles and minnows just doing what they do.

Fishing Buddies

Fishing Buddies
I can remember a time not so long ago when I went fishing with my best friend Benny who is also my husband. We would go down to the lake in our little boat with fishing poles and cold drinks in hand. Our bait was live crickets. I would stick my hand down in the cricket cage and they would climb my fingers with their scratchy little legs. I would bait them on the hook and if we were lucky would go home with supper.
There is no better place or time than spending the evening fishing with
your best friend down on the lake.
