Free Mini Class!

I posted this over at Miss Art’s Papercrafting School on Friday.  It’s a free video showing how I made this layered background with vintage sewing patterns (which, by the way, you can get in the Miss Art’s store now!)  Click on the photo to view the video.

Three FREE Classes

The headmistress (that’s me!  LOL) at Miss Art's would like to invite you to our biggest free class event yet!  Beginning on Friday,  March 23rd, you will have 3 days to check out three of our most popular classes for free, no subscription needed.

Three of our 201 class have nearly completed their 12 months of availability, and each of these amazing classes deserves a farewell party!  The Secret Garden with Stacy Cohen, B. You! with Heidi Kelley, and All About Me with Bethany Kartchner have all been around for nearly a year, and will soon be removed from our class schedule to make room for some amazing new classes.  That means that this weekend is your chance to check them out one last time, for FREE!  If you've been thinking about joining our student body, consider this your campus tour, led by three amazing teachers. When you visit us on Friday, head to the "Classes" page to view this weekend's free classes.  We'll see you there!

Anyone want to take a FREE Class?

Has Halloween left you covered in sweet wrappers, partially duct tapped to your child's abandoned costume with a bank account balance that's more trick than treat? If your feeling more hallow than happy let Miss Art's headmaster treat you to a fantastic, but time sensitive offer. For this weekend only, (November 4 - 6th) enjoy a tuition free class designed to renew your creativity, and go easy on your wallet.  You can even snack on the candy "taxes" you've stolen from the kiddos while taking the class.  Beginning on Friday, November 4th, you will have 3 days to check out one of our most popular classes for free, no subscription needed. In “Layered Layouts”, you will accompany our inspired resident architect, Julie Winks, as she explains the essential underpinnings of daringly designed layouts. We hope to see you in the class room and if you enjoy our class that you'll be kind enough to leave an apple or a comment for the teacher.

Come Create a Creative Carry-All!

My newest class at Miss Art's Papercrafting School in now available!  You can take this class for just $5, or check out the other subscription levels for other options, and more classes.  :)  Here's a little peek at the class:

Class Description:

Do you tote a phone that browses your favorite blog while it irons your clothes? Do you carry a device with more books on it than the Library of Congress? Our fast paced tech savvy world allows us to easily take everything with us, which begs the question “is the manner in which we leave things behind keeping pace?” In her 201 class “Creative Carry-All,” Alyssa McGrew will teach you how to make scrapbook that allows you to journal as you journey through life. Fourteen videos focus on creating a chipboard covered, elastic closed, and screw bound living log that fits easily in most purses. Alyssa will share her secrets for using Photoshop to make patterned paper and custom silhouettes from pictures of your loved ones. Three different book cover styles are demoed, as well as, binding your Creative Carry-All, making pocket pages, mini file folders and stamped ribbon. Leaving a legacy of seized moments will become instantly easier on 10/1/11

See you in class!

It's FREE class weekend!

Eeek!  It's so much fun to be able to tell me faithful readers about things that you are gonna love, especially when they are FREE!  This weekend starting tomorrow (or, really, about 10 pm EST tonight!), you can take one of the most popular Miss Art's classes for free!

"The kids are heading back to school and you should to! The headmistress at Miss Art's knows that new backpacks, school supplies and first day apparel can reduce a crafters budget to milk money, so for this weekend only she is offering you a tuition free class. Beginning on Friday, August 26th, you will have 3 days to check out one of our most popular classes for free, no subscription needed. In "The Secret Garden," the talented Stacy Cohen teaches you how to create a shadowbox efffect on your layouts by adding dimension through layering and creating beautiful floral clusters. Stacy even earns a little Extra Credit by providing you a step-by-step demonstration on how she creates her trademark crocheted page accents. We hope to see you in the class room and if you enjoy our class that you'll be kind enough to leave an apple or a comment for the teacher.

So what do you need to do?  Click , HERE to head straight to the "Preview Classes" to see both a few sample lessons (available all the time) and the "Secret Garden" this week only.

Here's what some of our students have said about Stacy Cohen and her "Secret Garden" layout class:

My Classes!

Just popping in to let you know that I have 2 classes currently running at Miss Art's Papercrafting School!
Sweet Snafus with Heidi Kelley:
If you have children, you know how important a sense of humor can be in maintaining your sanity. Little helpers can often be a little too helpful. Whether you just walked into your crafting space to discover your little man making a pinata from a newly completed layout, or happened upon your princess concocting fairy soup with your glitter, Sweet Snafus is a 201 class which will help you smile while you make the most of some common papercrafting mishaps. Crumpled paper, spilled paint, gluing gone awry and frustrated cries of anguish don’t stand a chance with Heidi Kelley and Alyssa Mcgrew teaching you how to turn oops into amazing in 12 easy-to-follow videos
 And Cluster Muster:
Embellishments can be a listless and standoffish bunch. If you spend hours trying to get pearls, buttons, fussy cuts and ribbon to overcome first date jitters you need a material matchmaker.  “Cluster Muster,” a 101 class taught by Alyssa McGrew, takes the first kiss awkwardness out of pairing up embellishments. In 4 easy to follow videos, Alyssa teaches you how to create clusters that will showcase your photos and your artistic perspective. Whether you want them to proclaim your page title boldly, or to subtly frame a photo “Cluster Muster” will have your embellishments playing nice in no time.
I hope you can join me for these fun classes!  Just click here.
