Nothing but the Truth

12 days since he entered this world. Wow. It feels like much longer. The first week is really the hardest. I am full of hormones, full of ups and downs. I am Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. One moment sweet, the next moody and angry. It's time to get out into the sunshine I think. I've been cooped up inside for too long. Right now my son has carried in a chestfull of toilet paper. His dad is going to be sooooo upset at him. It doesn't make me happier either. The baby is on my lap snoozing after a good breastfeed. Thankfully I have this part under control. It's not as painful to feed anymore and he's putting on weight so yay for me and him. We're having rice paper rolls for lunch. I can't wait cos it's yummy and mum gave me a jar of her chilli dipping sauce. It's the next best thing to slice bread. Speaking of slice bread I am thinking of buying a bread maker. Should I? We go through a loaf and a half a week on slice bread. If I made our own we could save mone...

Our newest little member.

Baby Elijah arrived in the wee hours of the morning on the 8th June after a much anticipated labour. A day before his due date, mind you but a quick labour was very promising. At 4.20am he was pushed out and I have enjoyed every second after that (not so much before, lol) No stitches for mummy even for this big 4.04kg baby! The heaviest of my now complete brood of babies. He is doing very well and I feel pretty good as well. We are completely over the moon and getting on with... life. Thanks for dropping by.

Turning Pages

This little darling turned 4 recently. She embraced the world 4 years ago a day before the Father's Day weekend. I remember just wanting her out so I could rest but I never got any! Right now just watching her flourish into a little being feels pretty good and this mothering business is settling in my bones. I love that the cardigan matches her dress and it fits her now since being so-called blocked. She tells everyone that "Mummy knitted this and she dyed it" My heart glows each time I hear the words coming out of her mouth. Speaking of parenting I won a book pack from The Bub Hub by simply writing up a review. I'm so incredibly thrilled! I hope there might be some really good reading coming my way. This Father's Day weekend was a pretty emotional one. We all went to the cemetary and shed tears for a little angel with her parents. We all went to the airport and I cried when saying farewell to parents-in-law. I think after becoming a mother I am so much more ...

Blissful Blessings

Over the weekend we celebrated a great blessing. Baby J had her christening and in her true style she was fussing most of the way through it. She did manage to stay quiet while the priest walked her around the altar. My kids don't do well during their christenings. There's just too much fuss going on for their own liking. We don't get many good photo's either. However, I managed to snatch some really lovely ones during quiet time. The gorgeous headband is a creation of Grace Designs . Rosalind worked with me to design the prettiest headband which made her look all too beautiful. My sister in law found her a christening dress so I didn't need to make her one. Which was rather fortunate as I was sick before and left a lot of things to the last minute. We had a cheeky priest who was quite funny and good with Baby J. She cried when the water was poured on her head. I took this snap with the camera held high as I could not get close enough. There were many other cameras ...

Slowly but surely

This week I took joy in seeing the beauty of nature. These are the tops off strawberries and they were so beautiful I had to take a snap shot. I had some other capsicum top lovelies too but they are uploaded by nephews who have loaned my camera on another machine. Grrrrrrrrr. Are you all busy making your Christmas presents? I made a start on the Amy Butler Sling today. Don't know when it will get done but I will aim to have it done by mid next week??? Things have been crazy around here. I've seen three dr's about Little J as she has constant unsettled periods in the late afternoon/evening. It's driving us mad. Everything seems so much worse when there is crying. They all don't think it's reflux and the last dr just said "She's colicky" That's it. Colic. I've decided not to fight against the wills of God and just take each day as it comes. I shall be a stronger person for it, yes? She's on Infacol and I might try Infants Friend as ma...

She's here

Jacqueline arrived at 5.59pm on the 12th October 2009. It was an intense but fast labour with only grazing as I had her standing up. We couldn't be any happier and glad to be home already. Little Miss and Little Man are adjusting quite well although they do tend to wake each other at night. We are resting at home and enjoying the time of 'firsts' with her. Not much else happening on the home front. Minimal cleaning, nil sewing, nil crafting and no thanks to things that are busy. It's a time to take things slowly and enjoy the peacefulness while it lasts ; ) Hugs and kisses from us.

It's been a while

Photo by Luke Burgess I'm so sorry I haven't been on-line for a while. You see, I have been sick with a throat infection. I've been extremely tired and I have some news... I'm so crafty I'm brewing a bun in the oven! I'm kind of excited but mostly, exhausted! Plus with the sickness I am also not allowed to take any medication. It is truly a dilemma but one that us 'mum' have to presevere through without whining. Hubby has been really great and looking after the little ones while I am trying to look after myself and the newest little one. So, with that being said I'm sure I'll be sewing up some maternity patterns for myself, along with some cute baby stuff too. Ahh, time for a nanna nap. Take care my dear friends. I promise that I will be back soon.

In Perspective

It's 2009. Wow. Time has flown. As I look back I realise what a great year 2008 was. It did have it's ups and downs. But here are the things that made it great. 1. My first son . Well he was born three days before 2008 but still a new life. The birth was miraculous and beautiful. 2. Found Blog World. There was a time when I was beginning to sink. Two little bubs were crying in my ears each. I logged on and searched for Easter Egg wrapping. I stumbled upon Karen Cheng's Snippets of Life . I was blown away, inspired, happy, and the rest is history. 3. My first girl turned two. She's so vivacious and cracks me up each time she talks. She now conquers three to four word sentences. Drives me a bit insane but is such a joy in my life. 4. My husband. He always helps out with the kids and is really supportive. We hardly ever fight about anything. When we do it's little things and we get over it. He makes sure that I am okay so that he knows the kids will be okay. Hence, I ...

Happy 1st Birthday

29th Dec 2007 A new life A blessing :: Happy Birthday Michael! :: One whole year ago I pushed you out without any pain medication. As I lay there with my eyes closed I envisioned a flower opening. The midwife wanted to give me an episiotomy. What? Already? After the first one with Little Miss I really didn't want another one this time around so I gathered up my energy and pushed really hard. After 20minutes of pushing you came out as quiet as a mouse. I held you on my chest and said "Hello little one" Now you're not so little and you find many things funny. You laugh at Peek-a-Boo . You have a light brown patch on the back of your head along with four teeth. You've even taken your first step unassisted. So, here's to many more years of cuddles, fun, laughter, and LOVE. ~Happy Birthday My Son ~

Animal Farm

So, so, so sorry that I haven't had time to show you anything new. I really want to create but well... it's the little things that get in the way. On a recent trip to the farm we had lots of fun. I even had some adult conversation. It was very refreshing to say the least. I should get out more. We don't have kangaroos or koalas in our backyard, honestly. You have to travel out into bushland to see any. Continuing with our love of wood cut-outs Little rabbits Ouch, I'm posting while he's pulling my hair and she's laying on me. I'll have to sew during nap time. I will really will try to get something made by tomorrow afternoon. Promise.

While we were offline

The swing top. In the tree On the carousel In mummy's sling Well I was sick last week, hence no time to post or sew something new. Also, our internet limit was blown halfway thru the month so that hindered me even more. I'm fine now but Little Miss has Impetigo on her fingers, toe, actually all the places she scratched. She has eczema (darn asian skin) but it got worse and I'm pretty sure Little boy passed it onto her. He's all clear now but she has sores on her fingers, knees (go figure) and a fat ugly one on her toe. It takes me some time to rub the cream on them and bandage them and she just sits there patiently waiting for me to finish. Such a little darl. We visited Wildlife World in Sydney. It's next to the Aquarium. I liked it but I prefer the Aquarium better. There she is peeking out from one of the fake tree trunks. Of course she did have a hissy fit once I tried to remove her from there. I think she cried for like, 10mins after that. I am learning to i...

Reading

I thought I'd enlighten you readers on what a few of the books that I'm forever dragging out now that I'm a full-time SAHM. Also, that's my boy. He's sprouting his second tooth and he giggles until he has hiccups. 1. Destitute Gourmet: The title perfectly defines how I cook. Dinner stresses me just thinking about it and I end up making up something on the spot. Lucky for me my hubs likes most of the food I eat quote: 'I don't like it when you put chick peas in food' I've only ever made one or two things from this book so it's not really saving my sanity at the moment. 3/5 stars 2. Supernanny by Jo Frost: I love this book. Very simple and ingenius. I'm using the Naughty Step on my daughter although it frightens the hell out of me just thinking about using it. There's loads of information and my trouble is just trying to remember it all. She covers a whole lot of issues from newborn to toddler so it's well worth the read. 4.5 stars 3. ...
