Officially opened in 2006, Sydney Wildlife World is a zoo in the city of Sydney, located on the shores of Darling Harbour and is attached to Sydney Aquarium.
The Sydney Wildlife World is unusual for a zoo in that it is entirely enclosed and air-conditioned. So, its like going to the aquarium to see kangaroos and koalas.
The reported AUD$45 million development features over 6000 native animals in several exhibition floors. Exhibits include Flutter Bys (Butterflies), …
… Scales and Tails (Reptiles), …
… Spineless Wonders (Invertebrates), …
… Nocturnal After Dark (Nocturnal animals), …
… Walking on Air (Flight Canyon), …
… Red Heart (Semi-Arid Grasslands), …
… High and Dry (Wallaby), …
… Lush Canopy (Rainforest), ..
and Gum Tree Gully (Koala Sanctuary).
I guess an indoor zoo with animals behind glass is a new concept that will take over the traditional zoos in the near future in every city.
