A Car Show or Blog Photos

T-Neck: Ann Taylor; Pants: J.Crew (gift); Pumps: Manolo Blahnik (gift);
Necklace: Ann Taylor; Bracelet: J.Crew (gift);
Shade: MARC by Marc Jacobs; Lip Color: MAC Dark Side

Sorry for the background in today's photos! It looks like a car lot around our house these days! There was horrible lighting everywhere we went and we were pressed for time to get the pics taken. Next time the backdrop will be better!

I adore these pants! They are a cross between a man's tie, lounging pants, and a fine tapestry. Because the cut of the pant is so slim, I wanted to keep everything as simple and streamlined as possible. A basic black t-neck keeps it sleek, the pumps keep it classy, and the statement necklace does just that, it makes a statement!

Dream to Reality - Chanel Jacket

I will probably never own a piece of Chanel anything other than my signature Chanel #5 scent! Oh wait, I own several eyeshadow quads, nail polishes and lipsticks. So, I guess I do own some sort of Chanel. But honestly, my heart is set on someday owning the quintessential quilted handbag with chain shoulder strap. Would I love for it to be new? Yes, but beggers can't be choosers. A nice vintage bag would be nice as well! HA!

 However, I would love to own a piece of clothing as well. My friend Kay has a gorgeous orange blazer that she got on eBay and I am so jealous! It fits her like a glove and is timeless! And a blazer is a true work-horse garment in any womans closet. I love this black and white Chanel blazer that Rachel Zoe is wearing! It's so chic. I love that she has paired it with a simple black top and jeans. Again, timeless!

When I saw this piece from Ann Taylor, I immediately thought Chanel! It is so similar in design! And I love that it's a sweater jacket! Even better! Coming in it at $129.00, this is a classic piece that won't break the bank and will be worn for years with everything from jeans to over dresses to paired with skirts as featured here! Totally worth the investment, especially if I can't have the real thing!

Happy Friday All! XOXO

New Age - New Accessories

As of last night, I am now an iPhone carrying member! My sweet hubby purchased an iPhone 5 and I am in love. And not just with my husband! I love this new phone. I am not a techy person, but I love new gadgets. And, what I love more than anything is an excuse to shop! So, because I now own an iPhone, I can finally shop for a case!

I've envied the darling phone cases for years. I carried an HTC Evo previously and there were never carrying cases for that phone. Or ones that were readily available. Or ones that were cute. And there are so many cute versions to choose from for the iPhone that I'm not sure I can purchase just one! Here are a few of my favorites, but I warn you, it changes all the time!

Kate Spade provides some of the cutest and kitschist cases I've seen! I honestly can't decide which one(s) to get! I love stripes and these two are as simple and classic as they come. I am loving the glitter on the right!

 I love NY, so anything with a reminder of this fabulous city, is at the top of my list! (Side note, I also love this scarf!)

Chevron stripes are a new favorite and I love the eyes! Seriously, which one do I get?

Nordstrom carries an array of phone cases, and some of them are simply adorable! Animal prints, as in actual animals on clothing, is a huge trend! I love the fox, but the owl is so sweet!

Again, just another reminder of my favorite city!

This one from Petunia is so simple yet so chic!

Honestly, I'm not sure I can decide! Which one(s) do you favor? Are a simplistic gal or one that loves a zany print? Let me know your thoughts!

Hope you're having a fabulous day!

Mad for Mod - Part II

Dress: Banana Republic; Shoes: Nicole Miller; Necklace/Bracelet: Silpada; Sunnies: Prada

Back in March I blogged about one of my Mad Men for Banana Republic dresses. Here is the other one! I've been waiting for summer to finally hit the Midwest as I've could been dying to wear it! As soon as the temps hit the high 80s, this dress was off the hanger and we were hitting the town. Okay, I only wore it to work, but I could wear it for a night out on the town!

What I love about the dress is how easy it is. You just simply put it on and add accessories! That's my kind of piece! No fuss! Just simple clean lines. And, I've said it before, you can't go wrong by adding a shift dress to your closet! A timeless, classic dress that will take you from day to night and from casual to dressy!

April Showers - Part One

Suit: Ann Taylor (similar/similar); Top: INC; Shoes: ShoeDazzle (similar);
Necklace: Banana Republic (old); Sunnies: Prada (gift)

For this girl, April is bringing a month of baby showers! I would much rather have baby showers than actual rain showers, although we are having plenty of the latter as well. This past weekend's shower had a sweet theme. The couple isn't finding out the sex of the baby and I love that they are so retro. For the record, we didn't find out either. The theme was "Blue or Pink, what do you think?" Can you guess what I'm thinking?

I picked out this look the night before not knowing that we were to also dress in the color we thought. Subliminal thinking? No, I just really wanted to wear my new peplum top! I love the rich cobalt and the lace is so on-trend. A gift from my mom and she is so in the know! The suit is an age old suit from Ann Taylor that has truly stood the test of time. A definite investment, ladies! It's a crisp look for summer but the pieces have so many options alone.

Stay tuned for next week's installment of April Showers Part Two!

Classic Black and White

Top: Ann Taylor; Jeans: Target:
Shoes: Sam Edelman; Coat: Banana Republic Outlet;
Shades:  Tom Ford; Ring: Banana Republic (old);
Lip Color: MAC Dark Side

There is nothing like black and white. Simple, classic, clean and chic. That's exactly what I think of this look. To keep it clean, pull hair back in a classic knot and add simple pieces of jewelry. Make it chic with over-sized shades and the "it" lip color for fall.

Three-Peat

Coat: Ann Taylor; T-Neck: Ann Taylor;
Pants: Ann Taylor; Shoes: Guess via DSW;
Necklace: Talbots; Earrings: DIY;

It is a three-peat for this Ann Taylor topper! A piece like this is a wardrobe classic. What I love about this look is that it's simply pulled together by pearls and a bun! No fuss!

And, the coat can truly be a mix of dressy or casual.I haven't paired it with jeans, but I'm thinking skinnies with tall boots will be a must!

Navy and Lace

Coat: Ann Taylor; Top: Ann Taylor;
 Belt: Ann Taylor; Pants: Ann Taylor;
Shoes: Manolo Blahnik (gift); Jewelry: Silpada;
Sunnies: Prada (gift)

I purchased these pants several months ago and just haven't worn them. I can't tell you why, I just haven't. I think part me thought they might be too tight, which isn't the case, but that's how my mind works at times. I had different plans for these pants when getting dressed. I really wanted to pair them with a black cardigan and cami, but the cardigan was super short! I just felt the need for some coverage. I found comfort, and coverage, with the topper!

 I added a belt because my top has a lot of volume, something I didn't need with the volume of the coat. And since the belt is black, I thought my patent Mary Jane's would be a perfection addition. News flash: I never pair navy shoes with navy pants, skirts or dresses! Actually, I don't even own a pair...wait a minute...I do own a pair of navy shoes, but I would never pair them with a navy bottom! You can't ever get the navy's to match and who wants to be matchy-matchy anyway!
