Just Us Girls Challenge #767 Mood Board Week

Lucky me! I'm guest designer this month at Just Us Girls Challenge! They always have beautiful inspiration, fun challenges and a terrific design team! The challenge this week is this beautiful inspiration mood board!

I spy a bunny, lamb, butterfly, florals, a heart and lots of GREEN! It's all about SPRING!
I thought I'd play with some Altenew today! I love their gorgeous layered realistic florals. These are the Build a Tulip. I cut the dies in shades of green with a touch of white.

I don't typically do monochrome designs, so it was a challenge for me to keep the background green. To get the most contrast I chose a different shade of very light green - it's more pistachio than lime.
I added a sprinkle of gold gems and a gold glitter die cut sentiment to add a bit of sparkle to the design.
I hope you find some time to play along with me at Just Us Girls. I think you'll be glad you did! Who knows? You might just be next months guest designer!

Fusion Thanks Strawberries

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great day! A new challenge begins today at Fusion Card Challenge! It's a great place to play and you'll love this challenge because there are three ways to play.. you can play along with the sketch, be inspired by the photo, or FUSE them together and play with BOTH!
I'm typically drawn to the inspiration photo.. the inspiration photo this time is Thank You Strawberries. How yummy do these chocolate dipped strawberries look? I spy monochromatic red with a touch of white and brown if you're looking for a color challenge. If you're not loving the photo, don't forget.. there are other ways to play along!
1. The inspiration photo2. The sketch
3. Color challenge
4. Fuse them all together (you clever one!)

It's your choice, but I sure hope that you choose to play!
My card starts with an color block background.. soft blush covers the majority of the card and a 1" espresso border along the top and bottom of the card. I added a panel of Poppystamps Penelope Pinpoint Frame.
I added Lawn Fawn Stitched Scalloped Borders cut from white and light brown to pick up on the chocolate in the design. The scallop border reminds me of the little round paper candy cups from the confectioner store.
The sentiment is from an older Lawn Fawn stamp set called Hello Friend. I masked the sentiment and stamped it on an Altenew Featured Sentiments die cut. The Strawberry Patch berries and bitty Spring Sprig Flowers are from Lawn Fawn.
Now it's your turn! I can't wait to see how you interpret the inspiration photo OR the sketch. Maybe you need a little more inspiration? Check out designs from the rest of the team. Just click on their names below to jump to their blogs.

I hope I see you at Fusion Card Challenge! It's a great place to play and make new friends! I'm always inspired by the team as well as the linked up designs!

Fusion Poppy Door

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great day! If you're looking for a new challenge you'll find another winner at Fusion Card Challenge . You'll love this challenge because there are three ways to play.. you can play along with the sketch, be inspired by the photo, or FUSE them together and play with BOTH!

This time I spy a big door with pretty poppies painted on it! What a big welcome home! I love florals so this one is easy for me. If you're not inspired by the inspiration photo you're welcome to play along with the sketch. And.... if you're feeling really clever you can FUSE them
 together.
When I think "flowers" I always think Altenew. They have the most beautiful, realistic flowers that are always eye candy. I think it's all the layers of colorful shades that bring the images to life.
If you love flowers too you'll want to check out their "Craft A Flower" series. They're absolutely beautiful. These are the Poppies. I chose reds in four shades, die cut and stacked.
The florals are layered on a white Cozy Flannel Cover with a soft grey cardstock panel underneath. I wanted the background in these shades to look like the white door on the inspiration.

Fusion Card Challenge - Flowers!

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great day! If you're looking for a new challenge you'll find another winner at Fusion Card Challenge. You'll love this challenge because there are three ways to play.. you can play along with the sketch, be inspired by the photo, or FUSE them together and play with BOTH!

My first look is always at the photo.. this time we have a clean looking photo.. beautiful floral arrangement, vase, and wood accents with the blocks and brush. What do I really see? LOTS OF NEUTRALS with a pop of peach and gold. You know me.. not a big fan of neutrals.. I'm addicted to color so I'm focusing on those pretty flowers. Not loving the photo? That's ok.. just play along with the sketch!

I've been a big fan of Altenew's layered florals for a very long time. No one makes prettier floral stamps than Altenew. Their ink sets are still innovative for stamping on layers of color. But there's no stamps here. These flowers look familiar, but they're new. These are the Jumbo Garden Picks. They're a larger version of the original Garden Picks.
Another big difference (in my opinion) is that these are EASIER to work with. The set includes everything to make 4 different layered flowers. You're cutting all the layer one of each flower at one time, all the layer two dies at one time etc. so building the flowers is a snap.
I layered my pretty flowers on a Dotted Swirls Debossing Cover panel. The pierced panel gives a extra layer of rich elegance without distracting from the florals.

Now it's your turn! Now it's your turn! Are you ready to play? I wonder how you will interpret the photo! Maybe you need a little more inspiration? Check out designs from the rest of the team. Just click on their names below to jump to their blogs.

I hope I see you at Fusion Card Challenge! I cant wait to see what you make!

Fusion Card Challenge - Thankful

Hi friends! I hope you're having a great day! If you're looking for a new challenge you'll find another winner at Fusion Card Challenge. You'll love this challenge because there are three ways to play.. you can play along with the sketch, be inspired by the photo, or FUSE them together and play with BOTH!

The challenge this time is called Thankful! I'm typically drawn to the inspiration photos, but I'll be honest.. I don't see enough color this time! I see some embroidery, white florals, and LOTS OF NEUTRALS. If you're not feeling the photo, that's ok.. just play along with the sketch.
I love a challenge! I took a little longer than I wanted putting this together.. but that's ok.. I'm really happy with how it turned out! The background is the Altenew Shutter Cover. I was happy it's slightly smaller than an A2 size card. This allowed for a little room for a darker espresso colored matt. These layers remind me of the framed photos in the background of the inspiration pic.
I started by making some 3D Roses from Altenew. This is three layer die cut. The hardest part for me was keeping them white LOL! I cut them from white watercolor paper and inked only the middle layer with some Distress Oxide in Old Paper.
I inked the leaves in Distress Oxide also in Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn and Pine Needles. The sprinkle of sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh in Bronze to match the metallic in the photo.
