The 12 Kits of Occasions - Best Summer Ever

It's the last day of the month and you know what that means right? It's time for The 12 Kits of Occasions! The 12 Kits of Occasions is a group of 12 friends who all love to paper craft. Every month we take turns making a kit for the rest of the group. We all receive the same kit with the same items. On the last day of the month we reveal what we each made with the kit. It's fun to see how we used the product in different ways. Sometimes the projects are similar and sometimes they are very different.

Our hostess with the mostest this month is Marybeth Lopez from Marybeth's Time For Paper! She put together a "Best Summer Ever" kit filled with sunshine! There are pretty papers from Echo Park, Stamped images from The Greetery, Concord & 9th and Altenew.. and Die cuts from Poppystamps!

Marybeth's style is clean and classy and there's always a touch of glimmer. She gets all the credit for hooking me on crisp stitched die cuts and SEQUINS! I'm blessed to call her friend! She's an angel in my life.

Momenta Thanks A Bunch Mason Jar

Thanks so much for stopping by! Today I'm playing with the Momenta Thanks A Bunch Die. This die is so pretty! A mason jar filled with a bouquet of florals, and there's even a message written on the jar! 

I cut the die from watercolor paper and painted it with watercolors. When it was dry I layered it over a second die cut from white card stock. I added a few white inlay pieces to help define the different florals and give the die cut a cleaner look. 

The assembled die cut is adhered to a panel that was inked with distress ink, and then inked again in a darker shade using the Momenta Chevron Adhesive Stencil. I love that the stencil has a repositionable sticky coating so the stencil stays in place and the inking is always clean.

Spread Your Wings and Fly!

Summer is in full swing and there is nothing I'm loving more than sitting outside with a cool drink just watching the world go by! I love catching sight of wildlife in the yard especially pretty butterflies. They're symbolic of beauty, transformation, and freedom. 

The Pretty Little Studio Bohemian Dreams Collection is just like the butterfly.. beautiful inspiration! My card today is pretty in pink with lots of pretty embellishments.

The "Stellar" background paper is topped with a journaling card from the Groovy 3x4" pack. I flipped the card so that the "Wild Heart" sentiment is actually at the top and covered with a flower. 

And Oh My! are there flowers in this collection! You'll find lots to choose from - and foliage too! in the Lazy Daisy pack! You can arrange until your heart is content! The pink butterfly, "love" and days of the week strip are from the Dreamy pack. Everything is coordinated to work together so making is easy.

Freshly Made Sketches - Beautiful Butterfly

I hope you're having a great weekend! Summer means there's lots to do and places to go! It's been pretty hot here, so I've been taking a break with some crafty time inside enjoying the AC with Miss Moriko under my feet. 

I love a sketch challenge and can't resist when I see one as CAS as this one at Freshly Made Sketches! 

I took the design quite literally creating a striped rainbow and adding a butterfly (ok it's set at a different angle) from Pretty Pink Posh Beautiful Butterflies.

The set has a large sentiment included with it, but I wanted to keep it small. For a CAS card it seems all about balance. I chose this sentiment from the Encouraging Greetings Set. 

A little bling is always welcome. I added a sprinkle of rainbow jewels for just the right amount of shine.

This card is going to my daughter who seems a little overwhelmed with life lately. I just want her to know that I'm thinking about her and it's all just temporary.

Jillibean Soup CAS Shaker Cards

Who can resist a shaker card? There’s something absolutely captivating about the mix of eye candy and the delight one experiences when receiving one. 

No one makes creating a shaker easier than Jillibean Soup. They’re Shape Shaker Program offer cards and envelopes pre cut with shaker shapes, plastic inserts that fit the die cut openings perfectly as well as stamps with coordinating images. They even have shaker fillers to please everyone on your list! 

I’m sharing three CAS shaker cards today – each card has been colored with distress ink so all that’s left is for you to embellish. The first features the Shaker Card Butterfly with the Butterfly Insert and filled with an assortment of Shaker Beads.

To create this rainbow back ground I used sticky tape to block off each section before inking it with distress ink. The butterfly from the Thankful Clear Stamp set is stamped inside the opening before being topped with the shaker insert.

The insert is easy to apply. Just open the card front, insert the plastic insert inside the opening, fill it with the eye candy of your choice, remove the protective tape from the opening and then close the card over the insert. 

My second card was made with the Shaker Card Star and Star Insert. I created a background of clouds by creating a mask and inking it approximately every half inch on the card front. 

Sticky tape protects the card back that I want to keep clean. Next, I stamped stars in yellow, a string for the star balloon, and a sentiment from Balloon Party.

The shaker is filled with more stars and amber beads from the Jewel Warm Mix, and I added wood veneer stars from the Shaker Fill Wood Veneer pack to the front of the card.

My third card features a distress ink galaxy sky perfect for dreaming! I embellished it with a unicorn, rainbows and a sentiment from the Magical Unicorn clear stamp set.
