Th 12 Kits of Occasions A Whimsical Garden

It's the last day of the month and you know what that means right? It's time for The 12 Kits of Occasions! The 12 Kits of Occasions is a group of 12 friends who all love to paper craft. Every month we take turns making a kit for the rest of the group. We all receive the same kit with the same items. On the last day of the month we reveal what we each made with the kit. It's fun to see how we used the product in different ways. Sometimes the projects are similar and sometimes they are very different.

It's another beautiful kit this month.. this time it's by Hostess: Lisa Elton from My Paper Tales.

I've enjoyed getting to know each of the ladies in this team a little better every month. They're the best support group because we have so much in common.

Lisa's style always fascinates me. Her projects have a soft feminine look. She gravitates to pastels, and I love the details she adds - a perfectly placed bit of bling to satisfy my inner diva!

Rainbow Bold Butterfly

TGIF! I think it's going to be a great weekend. The weather here is beautiful today. The sun isn't shining, but its in the lower 50's and thats A-ok with me. 

I thought I'd play along with CAS(E) this Sketch today. I was inspired by the clean stripe design and that beautiful butterfly stealing the show! 

I made a clean color block card from stripes of colorful card stock. 

The sentiment is from Pretty Pink Posh Encouraging Greetings stamp set. I stamped it directly on the card stock base. 

The large Pretty Pink Posh Bold Butterfly is cut from white card stock and really stands out against the rainbow of stripes.

The finishing touch is a sprinkle of jewels because a little bit of bling is always welcome! Wishing you a great weekend!

Tag You're It! Coffee Break

SO what do you see? I love color so the first thing I spot is the orange and blue plates! I'm loving that fluffy whipped cream topping too! Here's what I made..

I inked up a Sugar Pea Designs Gift Tag Sugar Cut with Spiced Marmalade Distress ink and then stamped the sentiment with Versafine Onyx Black ink. Then I splattered it with water and some white ink before embellishing the tag with the Sugar Pea Designs Coffee To Go Cup.

I cut the cup from blue card stock to pick up on the blue in the photo. The cup top is cut from vellum, and Yep! had to have some whipped cream! Too hard to resist!

Color Throwdown - Magnolia Hello

Hello friends ! I hope you're having a great day! The weather has been gorgeous today so I spent some time outside. I was so excited to see the bulbs I planted in the fall starting to peek through the soil. I am so anxious to see them bloom! 

The sky is turning dark though.. and I think rain is on it's way so time to head inside! I went web surfing a few challenges and settled on this one at Color Throwdown. I don't usually play color challenges - I guess my mind just doesn't work that way.. but the photo on this one caught my attention.

I knew the Pretty Pink Posh Magnolia Flowers would be perfect for the pink, green and cream challenge. Magnolia's always remind me of spring in the South. If you have never seen these flowers in person you wouldn't believe how large they are - bigger than your hands cupped together. A beautiful sight to behold. 

I created a background of die cut Stitched Borders cut from rustic cream paper. The stitches from the cut borders and flecks of fiber in the paper give it lots of texture. 

Next I adhered two Pink Scallop Ovals to the center of the panel, and a slightly darker die cut "hello" from the Hello Friend Script die

I colored and cut the Magnolia Flowers and adhered them to the card. The flowers are colored with Copic E40 and R00 for a slight blush on the cream petals. The flowers are adhered with adhesive foam tape, and the leaves are adhered to the base of the card. 

The final touch is a sprinkle of Pink Blush and Watermelon Jewels to add a little more color and some sparkle and shine.
