Am I showing my age if I confess that the Snow Writer pen from Marvy Uchida makes me think of the Low Rider song????? Pitiful, I know.....
Anyway, the pen is fantastic! Simply apply it anywhere you want the effect of snow, heat it and watch it puff up like magic! For Tuesday's learn at lunch demo, we'll create this card front using Copic Marker Refills to create the background. We'll then stamp this image (Memory Box) and add snow!!!! I added a hint of glitter on the snow to make it really shimmer, but the effect is just as nice if you are "glitter-phobic". You can decide! Stop in any time between 12 & 2 on Tuesday, and let's play!!!

Details, details!
This week's FREE make-and-take card is very difficult to photograph well. The reflection of the Black Glossy paper (even with the flash off) hides the subtle metallic shimmer we created with Marvy Metallic pens. The accents we added with Distress Stickles so exactly match the notecard color that it almost appears we punched lacy holes - but this is much easier than that! And, notice how the Extra Giga Scalloped Oval punch is framed perfectly by the background stamp by Flourishes. It's like everyone just played nice together, even though there are 6 different companies represented in this card. I LOVE it when a plan comes together! Stop in Thursday anytime between 10 and 8 and make one for yourself!

Mmmmm, shiny!
Some of my friends and family have accused me of being part-magpie because I am so easily distracted by shiny things. So, it's no wonder I was so taken with the Marvy Metallic pens that we used on the bamboo tiles in the Open House. I thought, "if a little bit of metallic shine is good, how much better would a LOT of metallic shine be?" I think this card speaks for itself! Join Jenn on Tuesday from 12-2 as she shows you the versatility of these pens - I think she used them on the ribbon, too. Fun! (and did I mention "shiny"?)

For your punching pleasure
I'm sort of a neat freak, so punching small items, only to get glue all over the place to adhere them, is not one of my favorite crafting activities. That is why I was completely enamoured by the new self-adhesive punch paper that just arrived. It's thin enough for most punches (including the new embossing punches by Marvy), and neat and tidy to work with. Wait until you see how it works with the new EK Success chain punches. Wow! It comes in a huge variety of colors, and it has a white core. When you use embossing punches, you can "scruff" off the color of the embossed part to make the design really pop! Come give it a punch and see what you think at our FREE Learn at Lunch demo on Tuesday from 12-2.

Hooo's Confused?
My apologies for missing yesterday's demo post! I've been traveling every weekend this month, and teaching once a week here in between, and I've kind of lost track of my days. Hopefully now I'm back on track! Tomorrow's FREE make-and-take features a new clear set from My Favorite Things. In addition, we're using the new Marvy Markers formulated specifically for clear stamps. If you haven't played with these yet, you really need to stop in and check them out. They do make a difference in getting a nice, even coverage on your clear stamps! In other news, I'm leaving tomorrow for my last trip of the month - headed to my favorite trade show of the year up in the Boston area. I'll be back next week with lots of new ideas and things to blog about, so check back then!

Inking your Clear Stamps
Have you ever had a hard time inking up your clear stamps? Sometimes, the ink seems to bubble up or just sit on the top, making an even coverage next to impossible. Marvy has created a new line of markers to help solve this problem. Right now, they are only available in sets of 6 colors, but for most stamps, you'll want to use either brown or black to stamp the outline and then color in the image with pencils, etc. as needed. If you take the markers out of the set and toss them into your "marker drawer", you can still tell which ones are for clear stamps by their lids - they are a transparent color ("clear") so you'll know they are for clear stamps (although you can certainly color with them all the time, if you choose). Join Jenn this Tuesday from 12-2 for a FREE opportunity to play with these markers and see what you think.

Thursday Make and Take
Hooo's having a birthday? Owl bet this card will make their day! I could keep going, but I won't. You'll thank me later. Anyway, this week's FREE make-and-take features these adorable owls from Gina K.
Speaking of nesting (get it???), we received the new lever punches from Marvy - the XTRA Gigas. These are their largest nesting punches yet and work great for cards or scrapbook pages. They are available in 8 shapes. Come see!
