Here Comes the Shine!

There is nothing better, on the day after the sun goes dark, than a little SHINE!  It's hard to capture in a photo, but we will be working with the Pilot Metallic Pens (in both gold and silver) to add some texture to a Color Burst background.

One of the things I love about these pens is how quickly they dry.  Unlike Krylon Gold Leafing pens, these dry almost instantly.

Believe it or not, this background panel was created with a single color of Distress Oxide Ink.  You can see various shades of blue and even some purple, but I only used one ink pad.  Intrigued?!?!

Delicate Shimmer

Join Angela this Tuesday any time between 12 & 2 for the FREE Learn-at-lunch demo.  She will show you some new techniques for stenciling with Gelatos.  They go on easier than virtually any other medium, they are water soluble but can be used on regular cardstock, and they are permanent once dry which makes layering a dream!  In addition, she'll show you how to add some shimmer on the cheap - with foil!  And best of all, there's no "drying time".  Fun!  See you there.

Subtle Collage

Join Angela this Tuesday between 12 & 2 for some fun with collage!  Angela has introduced you to Iridescent Creative Medium Gel in the past, and so she wanted to see what else it could do.  In this FREE Learn at Lunch demo, you'll get the opportunity to play with the gel on patterned paper, and we'll use the dried design as a resist for a Gelato and Distress Ink wash. 

Angela will also have other samples to share, including how vibrant the gels are on black cardstock, and examples of how fun they are to use on gelli plates!  Intrigued?  Stop by and nourish your brain with some learning at lunch!!!!

Ink Pads you CAN Resist (but you shouldn't :-))

This card has so much depth, it looks like each layer has been popped up!  While you could pop the layers for even more dimension (it would be a challenge to mail), you don't have to with the ingenious way these new dies from Memory Box have been designed.

The Nitty Gritty!

Join Angela this Tuesday any time between 12 & 2 and try the Ranger Distress Grit-Paste.  This wonderfully creamy paste maintains its texture after it dries without becoming brittle!  You'll learn how the paste "accepts" different Distress products to add color.  And, you'll get to play with the brand new Tim Holtz mini stencils.  So much fun and full of free-liciousness!

Embellish with Enamel Accents

This Tuesday, Angela will show you all kinds of tips and techniques for working with Enamel Accents - and she'll show you something she discovered that may actually have originated with her (gotta love happy accidents!)

You'll learn how to make good "round" dots, how to keep the paint from "exploding" when you squeeze it and how to keep the tip from clogging - and more!!!  Who knew there were so many things to discover?!?!

Painting with Pens

Dyan Reaveley released two paint pens quite some time ago - white and black.  These fine tip pens are fabulous for journaling and doodling.  She has just released a 6-pack of colors, and Angela can't get enough!  The coverage of acrylic paint with the detail of a fine point pen - awesome!!!

I.O. Beautiful Backgrounds

Impression Obsession released a bunch of new Cover-a-Card backgrounds at the recent trade show.  We get lots of questions about ways to use them - so stop in Tuesday between 12 & 2 and try a couple of different ways (although, there are literally dozens of options).  Angela will be showing you techniques with Color Burst watercolor powders and Pan Pastels.  You'll get to try a background with both - and you can take your backgrounds home and create cards on your own!  See you there!

Versatile Vellum

Handy Little Tool!

This Tuesday's FREE Learn at Lunch demo features a handy little tool that you may never think about - the Perforator.  Angela is all about tools (and inks and stamps and .....) that have multiple uses, and the perforating tool is no exception!  We will use it to make a card AND gift rolled into one (a card that has a removable bookmark), but Angela will also show you how to use it to create evenly spaced "stitch marks" to frame your images.  Love it!
