Since Randy Moss is going to be a free agent, I've heard rumors that the Dallas Cowboys are going to be interested in signing him. He came to the New England Patriots in hopes of getting a Super Bowl Ring, but he is still waiting for his first ring. Likewise, Terrell Owens never won a Super Bowl Ring either. How could the two greatest receivers in football, possibly in history, still not have Super Bowl Rings? It makes sense to combine the two.

Manny Ramirez Will Leave The Boston Red Sox If They Don't Resign Him
Boston's slugging left-fielder is entering the final season of his eight-year, $160 million contract that has team options for 2009 and 2010 of $20 million each.
There's no rush to pick up the option or extend his contract, and Ramirez has no intention of asking the team to do either.
"It's up to them to say, 'OK, we're going to take [the option]. It's not up to me to go into the office and demand a four-year deal, whatever," he said. "No, I'm going come here to play the game, finish my year. If they want me to come back, I'll come back."
GM | HR | RBI | R | OBP | AVG |
127 | 20 | 86 | 79 | .385 | .292 |
General manager Theo Epstein also wants to wait.
"We're focused on 2008," Epstein said. "Manny's contract provides for the first of his options to be decided upon at the end of the year and there's a time for that, but it's certainly after the season. And we're looking forward to Manny continuing to work hard and have a great year."
Ramirez had asked to be traded after the 2005 and 2006 seasons. But this offseason passed peacefully, without so much as a peep of dissatisfaction from him.
What changed?
"You start growing up and mature," the 35-year-old Ramirez said.
Now he doesn't want to play anywhere else.
"I want to finish my career here," he said, "but it's up to them. So if that doesn't happen, hey, I'll go and play somewhere else. I know I still can play. What else can I say? It's up to them. I'm not the one who writes the checks."
Right, very mature Manny.
Having Manny Ramirez on your team is the equivalent of having a Terrell Owens or Ron Artest on your team. What you have here is a superstar who allows his skills on the field or court to effect his attitude off the field or court.

The NFC Defeats The AFC In The 2008 Pro Bowl
Making up for early sloppiness, Terrell Owens caught two touchdowns passes, including a 6-yarder from Tampa Bay's Jeff Garcia for the winning points in the NFC's comeback 42-30 victory over the AFC on Sunday.
Adrian Peterson made this Pro Bowl look easy. He ran for 2 touchdowns and 129 yards (second most in Pro Bowl history) to take home the MVP award. When he is at his best, the numbers he puts up are ridiculous. The New England Patriots better not get a hold of him.
Neither side held back the tricks, to the delight of the sellout crowd of 50,044 at Aloha Stadium. There was a fake punt, a throwback kickoff return and a handful of fourth-down gambles.
One of those was a 34-yard pass to Owens from fellow Cowboy Tony Romo that sparked the comeback. Before that huge play, Owens had a pair of ugly drops that drew boos.
He quickly turned them into cheers. Who could stay mad at Tony Romo and Terrell Owens?

As you can see, the Packers are better in just about every statistical category. Yes, I know they are in an easy division, but a win is a win. This is Favre's year and I see no reason the Packers should lose unless some odd, freaky stuff happens.
Jacksonville At New England (8:00 p.m.) - Just in case anyone hasn't heard, the Patriots haven't lost a game this season. However, I wonder if now that the Patriots have completed their undefeated season, will the NFL and the refs continue to favor them? Will Randy Moss continue to push off receivers to catch touchdown passes and the refs won't call it?
I don't even need to examine statistics for this game. However, the Jaguars were the hottest team coming into the playoffs. They have an insanely good running game, which is very important when playing the Patriots, who have trouble stopping the run. If the Jags can run the ball well, control the clock, and keep Tom Brady off the field, then they have a very good chance of winning. Even with that said, the Patriots always find a way to turn up the gears and come away with a victory. Therefore, I just can not go against the Patriots, but it wouldn't surprise me if the Jags pull an upset. Don't forget, David Garrard can also randomly take off running too when they need crucial yards, as proven last week.
San Diego At Indianapolis (1:00 p.m) - First, some injury updates. While Pro Bowler Antonio Gates rehabbed his dislocated left big toe, All-Pro fullback Lorenzo Neal returned to practice for the San Diego Chargers exactly one month after breaking his lower left leg. Gates dislocated his left big toe late in the second quarter of Sunday's 17-6 wild-card win against Tennessee and didn't return. He wasn't available to the media after practice.
"We're getting Antonio ready to play," coach Norv Turner said. "He's making progress, he's going through all his treatments and all those things. We'll see where he's at later in the week. He's making good progress. I have hope that he'll be able to play."
After hearing much speculation, however, Gates is doubtful for Sunday's game.
Meanwhile, Tony Dungy said Marvin Harrison was supposed to play in the final game of the season, but in the last second decided it would be better if he didn't. Now, Harrison has participated in practices all week and is most likely to play on Sunday, which is bad news for the Chargers.
At first, I liked the Chargers chances of winning just because the Colts are known as a team to choke at odd times. However, I no longer have that feeling. Why? Because if it took the Chargers 3 quarters to get their offense going against the Titans, then how do they expect to keep up with the Colts' offense? Also, the Colts' defense is better (Bob Sanders defensive player of the year) than the Titans.
Yes, I know the Chargers beat the Colts in the regular season and Peyton Manning threw a career high 6 interceptions that game, but I truly believe Manning and Dungy are the types of people who would look over the tapes of that game and make sure that doesn't happen again. Peyton Manning is too smart of a quarterback to let that happen again and I have full faith in him. Therefore, the Colts should win over the Chargers this Sunday.
New York Giants At Dallas (4:30 p.m.) - First, some injury updates. The good news for the Cowboys was that Terry Glenn went through his most rigorous practice since coming back from two knee operations. Glenn saw limited action in the season finale against Washington, but didn't catch a pass. On Wednesday, he went through an entire team workout for the first time since training camp.
However, Terrell Owens still wasn't able to practice Wednesday because of a high ankle sprain, continuing the drama of whether the Dallas Cowboys will have their newest All-Pro receiver for the playoff game Sunday against the New York Giants. Coach Wade Phillips didn't even see Owens on Wednesday, but knew he was doing all he could to get healthy. And if T.O. says he's ready to go at game time, Phillips will let him play.
If Terrell Owens plays, the Giants are going to lose. Its that simple. Terrell Owens creates such a distraction out there and is Tony Romo's favorite target. If not Owens, Romo has Glenn, Witten, and Crayton out there to throw too. The Cowboys have too much offense for the Giants to handle. Oh yea, and they have two decent running backs handy that they could switch in and out so they both can rest. Yes, I know the Cowboys have been slacking off lately, but they didn't care about that last game of the season.
If Terrell Owens doesn't play, the Giants have a very good chance of winning and things will be radically different. If you remove Terrell Owens, you are removing the second best receiver in football and the other receivers become covered because the defenders won't have to worry about what Terrell Owens is doing. The Giants are playing on the road, where they are 8-1, and they have been playing better than the Cowboys as of late in this season. Though things are starting to shift in the Giants favor, I believe Terrell Owens will play and the Cowboys will earn this win. However, if Terrell Owens doesn't play, it wouldn't surprise me if the Giants pulled off an upset.
And the issue with Jessica Simpson is not a distraction. Actually, its such a joke that the joke is becoming a distraction. Tony Romo is a professional football player and professional football players don't blame their private lives off the field for blowing the game on the field. If anything, the thought of Jessica Simpson should push Tony Romo to do better. Think of the reward she'll give him if he wins...

More Good News For Giants: TO Game-time Decision

Bill Parcells Wastes No Time In Making Changes in Miami
The thing with Bill Parcells is that he wants people he knows surrounding him as he tries to fix the Miami Dolphins. He's not familiar with Cam Cameron or many of the other staff members, so he had to let them go.
To recap, late last month, they brought in Parcells to run the organization. He hired Jeff Ireland as general manager this week, and they fired most of the coaching staff Thursday.
"They were struggling on both sides of the ball," Ireland said. "Looking at it from afar, we've just got to put the right person in place."
Cameron was fired Thursday after winning only one game in his first year as an NFL head coach. The move means Miami will have its fifth coach in five seasons.
Such instability has contributed to the Dolphins' decline. This season they lost their first 13 games and finished 1-15, the worst record in franchise history.
Parcells, the Cowboys' coach in 2003-06, may tap the Dallas pipeline again. The early front-runner to replace Cameron is Cowboys assistant head coach Tony Sparano, who is scheduled to interview Friday for the head coaching vacancy in Atlanta.
"Tony's an outstanding coach," Dallas head coach Wade Phillips said this week. "He's got all the attributes, I think, to be a head coach. He works well with people. His players play for him; I think that's important. And he's a really sharp, sharp guy as far as Xs and Os. And I think he'd work well certainly putting a staff together."
ESPN's Chris Mortensen has confirmed through sources that the Dolphins also will consider these five additional assistants as Cameron's successor:
" Maurice Carthon, Cardinals running backs coach
" Todd Haley, Cardinals offensive coordinator
" Mike Tice, Jaguars assistant head coach/tight ends
" Rex Ryan, Ravens defensive coordinator
" Leslie Frazier, Vikings defensive coordinator
Now that the coaching staff is in the process of being replaced, it'll soon be time for Parcells to take a look at the players. It wouldn't surprise me if Bill Parcells brought the players he likes to the Dolphins in addition to the coaching staff. How funny would that be if Vinny Testaverde came out of retirement to be the quarterback of the Dolphins or if Terry Glenn came to the Dolphins as a receiver. Romo loves Terrell Owens and his other receivers so much in Glenn's absence that Glenn looked out of place on that team in the final week of football.

Terrell Owens' Injury Is Hopefully Not As Bad As It Sounds
Tony Romo threw for 257 yards and a touchdown and the Cowboys overcame the loss of Owens to a left ankle injury in a 20-13 victory over the Carolina Panthers on Saturday night.
While Dallas (13-2) moved a step closer to clinching home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, the Cowboys were dealing with another injury to a key offensive player.
Last week it was Romo, who bruised his right thumb and was ineffective in a loss to Philadelphia. Now it's Owens, who left in the second quarter after his left leg got caught underneath him after a catch.
The Cowboys made it 14-0 a play after Owens left, but failed to score another touchdown.
The team said at halftime that he would miss the rest of the game.
Owens' leg got caught underneath him when he was tackled by Jon Beason on a 4-yard catch in the second quarter. After limping around on the sideline for several minutes, Owens walked to the locker room.
A television camera later caught Owens walking near the locker room without a shoe on his left foot, accompanied by a trainer and agent Drew Rosenhaus.
Owens had five catches for 48 yards, including a 10-yard touchdown catch, before he was injured. The TD was Owens' team record 15th of the season.
Cowboys At Panthers: Where's Jessica Simpson When You Need Her?
"After Tony Romo's dismal display in Dallas' loss to the Philadelphia Eagles last week, Terrell Owens seemingly blamed his quarterback's 22.2 passer rating on a particular blonde in the crowd. Now Milwaukeeworld Publishing is giving people the chance to be that blonde at the Cowboys next game against the Carolina Panthers this weekend," said Craig Peterson, owner and founder of Milwaukeeworld Publishing.
Visit Milwaukeeworld.com to print, snip and sport a Jessica face when the game starts this Saturday at 8 p.m. (EST).
Milwaukeeworld created the mask after the Cowboys second defeat of the season this past Sunday at Texas Stadium, which was surrounded in controversy by Simpson's appearance at the game. Outspoken wide receiver Terrell Owens said, "Right now Jessica Simpson is not a fan favorite in this locker room or in Texas Stadium."
"Romo has a recent history of going down in front of blondes. In the 2006/07 NFL season, the Dallas Cowboys lost to Philadelphia at home 23-7, resulting in Romo's second worst game to date. At that game was then-girlfriend and American Idol winner Carrie Underwood," said Peterson.
Coincidentally, Romo's first ever start in the NFL was at the Panthers on October 29th, 2006, with Dallas recording a 35-14 victory. The 6-8 Panthers need a win this time around to keep its playoff hopes alive, so if you are a Carolina fan, why not visit Milwaukeeworld.com and obtain your free Jessica Simpson mask.
Also......A new website is taking aim at Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo. RuinRomo.com is a site, where fans of opponents playing the Cowboys, can download and print out a stick mask of Romo’s love interest Jessica Simpson.

Some Comments on the 2008 Pro Bowl Voting
-It's very nice to see the public give Favre (possibly) another farewell game after the season is over. I agree with voting him in as QB over Tony Romo, especially this year.
-Terrell Owens and Larry Fitzgerald should bring out the best in Favre, who isn't used to throwing to receivers of this caliber.
-The public really loves the new guy Adrian Peterson. Based on his inconsistency, I wouldn't have picked him over Westbrook, who you can always rely on.
-Did anyone not see Al Harris get burned repeatedly when he played the Cowboys. He's terrible. Good thing Terrell Owens is on his side this game. It doesn't matter though, if not T.O, then Randy Moss will exploit Al Harris.
-Watching Devin Hester return kicks is the only exciting aspect of the Bears. There isn't anybody who can do it better.
AFC
-As a Manning fan, I think he is more of a team player who would do a better job managing his team, the time, and get the overall win. However, the Pro Bowl isn't really about who wins. It's not like baseball where a win determines home field advantage. The Pro Bowl is all about flash and showing off. So in that regard, I can see why Brady would be voted the starter. This year, a Brady pass to Randy Moss is more exciting than a Manning pass to Wayne.
-How can you go wrong with the #1 receiver in the league (Moss) and the #1 receiver (Wayne) on the second best team in the league? You can't possibly lose with Moss. He'll push off the defender every time and never get flagged for it.
-How can you go wrong with the #1 tight end in the league (Anotonio Gates)
-LaDainian Tomlinson is becoming more like the LT of last year more and more and if he keeps this up he'll put Adrian Peterson in his place.
-Ed Reed and Bob Sanders is a good duo at safetys. As is Champ Bailey and Asante Samuel at cornerbacks.

Terrell Owens Finally Speaks Up....At Keyshaun Johnson
Before I continue any further let me address an issue right there. I loved Monday Night Football when John Madden and Al Michaels were commentating. Their is something grandfatherly and comforting about those guys. They were never bias and always tried to find good no matter how bad a team was playing. I'm pleased they are still on the air, even if its Sunday Night instead of Monday Night Football. Now, those on ESPN who bring us the Monday Night broadcast, aside from the entire show which has become more of a circus for entertainment other than solely for a football game, are extremely harsh and critical and they annoy me to listen to them. So, it wouldn't surprise me if members of ESPN said something controversial.
On the show, Johnson said he believed former Cowboys coach Bill Parcells -- now also an analyst with ESPN -- deserves credit for what the Dallas team looks like now, with a 12-1 record.
In Dallas, Owens sharply criticized Johnson for defending Parcells, saying, "I challenge him to come down here and take my job. ESPN producers, let him go."
Actually....Johnson is right. Parcells deserves every bit of credit for Dallas' season this year because he assembled the team that is the Dallas Cowboys today before he stepped out the door. Perhaps a different coach may have not saw the potential in Tony Romo or didn't want to waste their time with Terrell Owens, but Parcells did. So, I defend Keyshaun with that statement.
Asked in the locker room why Johnson would take the position he did Sunday, Owens said: "I'm probably the reason he's in the booth now. He's going to be a hater and throw me under the bus because he has to defend Bill. He won a Super Bowl and all, but you'd have to check the roster to know he was even on the team.
"We came out in the same year. He was a first-rounder and I was a third. Go compare our stats. He couldn't come down here now and be a third or fourth receiver on this team. Just compare our stats."
Owens swung between addressing the Cowboys-as-built-by-Parcells theory and responding to Johnson's comments.
"It's not a matter of me giving or not giving Bill credit," Owens said, according to The Dallas Morning News. "Everybody wants to make a big deal, that this is the team he built. It doesn't matter. ... My thing is give credit to Wade [Phillips]. The difference between Wade and Parcells is this: Parcells, he didn't use me as a playmaker; Wade, he got the staff, and that's what I'm being used as.
And then back to delivering a verbal barrage at Johnson:
"Those guys are probably talking about me, chopping it up, drinking coffee," Owens said. "They can have their little pity party and talk about me all day long. It doesn't bother me. There's a lot of people on the ESPN panel and across the country that has observed what has happened this year versus last year. And there's a lot of people that just don't want to give credit for what Wade has done and what wasn't done last year. That's it. I'm not trying to be negative."

Terrell Owens Fined For Waving A Towel! Is This A Joke?
According to ESPN:
The flamboyant Dallas Cowboys wide receiver was fined $10,000 for violating league uniform and equipment rules by the NFL, The Dallas Morning News reported Thursday.
The newspaper said that Owens was penalized for waving a personalized towel during Dallas' 38-17 win over Philadelphia on Sunday, a move that was picked up by television cameras.
It was the second time this season he's been fined for violating league rules after a touchdown.
Earlier this season, Owens was fined $7,500 for a celebration that included using the goal post and football to poke fun at the New England Patriots' spying scandal during Dallas' 37-20 victory over Miami this past Sunday.
The newspaper quoted the Cowboys wide receiver as saying the league has squeezed much of the fun out of the game for him and many others.
"It's stuff like that," Owens told the Morning News. "People try to make a big deal out of it. It's not any different than Chad [Johnson] going to the sidelines and taking [out] a coat. All I had was a little towel, and now they want to make that into a big deal."
I could not agree more with Owens. I mean, c'mon, a towel! A TOWEL! Its not like this was a Taliban Towel or a pornographic towel either! Last Week, Chad Johnson was fined $5,000 for wearing "Ocho Cinco" on the back of his jersey. Did he kill anybody? Did he incite racism on his jersey? No! So let him wear the damn thing. Overall, football is supposed to be entertainment. Touchdown celebrations are entertaining. Therefore, logically speaking, touchdown celebrations should be allowed in football since football is entertaining and so are touchdown celebrations. Since these fines are extremely low compared to their paychecks, if I was Owens or any other football player who wanted to celebrate, I would just continue doing it and tell the NFL to shove it because this is ridiculous. I'll leave everybody reading this with one question: Why doesn't MLB fine Manny Ramirez for standing on home plate staring 10 seconds at the home run ball he just hit. Doesn't that count as celebrating? Whats the difference between showing off after Ramirez hits the home run ball and Owens waving a towel after he catches a touchdown pass? (I know, that was 3 questions).
