The 365 Day Challenge

My goal is to create something every day using something from my craft cupboard. I am a self-confessed fabric addict and just love to fossick through thrift shops and find treasures.

So here goes. Live, love, recycle and get crafting.

Day 219 - Birthday card for a one year old

There was a half day stop work action for teachers today so we decided to take the whole day off and drive to Melbourne and see my Mum, sister inlaw, nephews and my Nan (93 years old by the way). We went to a little farm in the city which is near where my Nan lives. Ironic really to visit a farm in Melbourne when we live on 7.5 acres surrounded by farms, but we had a great time. Little A particularly loved the tractor ride.

I returned home with very little energy to spare and decided to make a little card for a first birthday we have coming up.

I'm too tired to explain, so I'm going to tell the story with pictures. Hope you have all had a fantastic day, and thankyou to the new people who have recently visited and linked up to my blog.

I thought I'd also share something with you about my 5 yo Juliet. I bought this book for her during the school holidays. She has bookmarked all the things she wants to make. There are 50 crafts and I counted 39 bookmarks. :-) Taking after her mum much? It gave me a laugh when I saw it.

Day 218 - Reorganisation continues - spice rack recycled.

I'm still on to organising my craft area a little, so I thought I'd put this old spice rack to use. It hasn't had a place in our last three houses, but it keeps coming with us.

I put a couple of hooks on the wall, decorated it a little and added my jars and lace from yesterday. Looking pretty impressive if I do say so myself.

Day 217 - Craft room organisation

Today I'm doing a little bit of craft room organisation. I can't seem to find anything in there so I'll be doing a little bit of that this week. I'm combining it with some recycling.

I started off with some old jars and old baby bottles.

And some toilet rolls and scraps of fabric.

I covered the toilet rolls with fabric scraps.

And now they make really cute organisers for my gram's tangled lace.

Some of the jar lids became pin cushions with the help of some more fabric scraps, and old sponge and some fabric glue.

And Juliet helped me organise my buttons into different colour coded jars.

Looking pretty organised now. More to come tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by :-).

Day 216 - Transfers

After a lovely girls weekend away I arrived home to my beautiful kids (and hubby) this afternoon and have been greeted with many hugs and kisses. :-)

I used the Sukie super cool transfers book to turn a very old white singlet suit into a super cute one. I think I put the image a little too low though.

Day 215 - A tooth bag.

My little Juliet is going to lose her first tooth soon. She has two wobbly ones and since her brother recently lost three teeth in quick succession she is quite excited that she will soon be losing a tooth too.

There is a lot of tooth movement in our house these days. Our baby recently got his first two teeth. Mr A, 3 years old, is convinced he has several wobbly teeth too. :-)

Anyway. I have made a little tooth bag for the princess to put her tooth in and pop under the pillow.
It's a nice little project for my girls weekend. :-)

Day 214 - Scrabble Tile Pendant

Hello!

I'm going away for a couple of nights, but I am taking a little craft project to work on.

I made this scrabble tile pendant last night and this morning for a friend of mine who started her own photography business about a year ago. I saw something similar shop window for a ridiculous price, so of course I thought "I can make that!".

My camera is now broken and it was hard to get my phone to focus on this, so it's lucky it isn't me who shoots people for a living.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone. x

Day 213 - Making giant crayons from broken ones.

I saw this tutorial a while ago for making dinosaur crayons over on craftster. I Thought they looked pretty cool. Of course I didn't have a dinosaur mould, but the idea was to melt the broken crayons in the oven into the dinosaur shape. I wasn't sure if it would work but I had a gingerbread man cutter so I thought why not give it a try.

Hmmm. Didn't quite work.....

So I scraped it off and poured it into this loveheart cupcake pan. No escaping now!

And here's what came out.
Miss Juliet gave it a trial run.
And here's what she drew. All's well that ends well.
