The 365 Day Challenge

My goal is to create something every day using something from my craft cupboard. I am a self-confessed fabric addict and just love to fossick through thrift shops and find treasures.

So here goes. Live, love, recycle and get crafting.

Day 322 - More transfers on pants

After my transfer comedy of errors from the other day, I decided to do some more transfers today. I am also working on a couple of other things. I may have too many things going at once. My mind is working overtime.

I had a fabulous day today. My eldest son went to school saying school was awesome, after a terrible teacher last year made him not want to go for the whole year. I'm hoping this is his year. I did a little happy dance this morning, I'm just so happy for him.

The little ones and I had a lovely day, with our preschooler music class, Aidan's first swim lesson and some hammering.

Here he is doing his hammering. Little A felt the need to fill every little piece of his board (my beautiful effort is in the bottom of the picture).

And I must do some more bragging about Mr Crafty and the family. Look at the beautiful dream catcher they made me. I got it this morning as day 26 of my presents.

I transferred the bottom of these leggings for Juliet. And the next few photos are of her rocking them on a bike ride tonight.

Day 318 - A pantsformation

The true title for this blog post should be 'What not to do with transfers'. It all began with a plain pair of black size 1 stretchy pants and some transfers. From there it seemed to go from bad to worse.

First I put the iron straight onto a transfer, transfer ruined, iron not so good either. Then I chose a different set of transfers that I thought were separate transfers but they were one big one so when I cut it out crudely and ironed it on it looked ridiculous. After another hour or so of trying to work out how to fix it I settled on transferring on top of a transfer, which didn't work out too badly. Whew!

Melted transfer - first mistake.

These 2 cuties were supposed to be one on each side.

Badly cut out transfer :-(

Transfer over transfer.

The recipient!

What to do next - go outside and bathe in wet sand for a bit.

Day 248 - Team Dylan

Birthdays are a bit of a big deal around here, especially first ones. It's a good excuse to come up with a few more crazy crafty ideas, so I decided to make some Team Dylan outfits for Dylan's brothers and sister to wear on his birthday.

First I made a screen print by printing out the words, laminating the paper, and cutting a stencil with a box cutter knife.

I thought I would stretch the fabric with an embroidery hoop.

Huge failure, tried to fix it a bit here.

Proper screen print box is needed! But at least I tried and now I know this doesn't work.

Luckily the fabric paint washed off when I got to it when it was still wet.

Transfers were made and printed. Much better. :-)

Models.

My baby is turning 1 tomorrow. Boo, Hoo, Hoo.

Day 216 - Transfers

After a lovely girls weekend away I arrived home to my beautiful kids (and hubby) this afternoon and have been greeted with many hugs and kisses. :-)

I used the Sukie super cool transfers book to turn a very old white singlet suit into a super cute one. I think I put the image a little too low though.

Day 158 - Designer Bibs

I am heading away today on a girls' weekend and from there I will be going directly to Thailand with my family. So I won't be back here sitting at my computer for about 3 and a half weeks. Not sure how often I'll be able to blog, or how, but I will still be crafting and attempting to document and blog as I can. And we are taking the ipad with us. I am so excited to be going on this adventure and taking time out to just be with my family.

Whilst away we will also be updating a travel blog where we can over here http://tumblingthroughthailand.blogspot.com.au/, for those who are interested.

Today's project designer bibs. With these very, very cute iron on transfers from a book I recently stumbled upon. I stuffed up the first one a bit when the paper got stuck, but practice makes perfect.

And here is my portable craft cupboard, about to go into the backpack. Yay!!!
