Dia de los Muertos y Halloween and some randomness in October

One of the many paper mache "floats" made for Dia de lor Muertos or Day of the Dead.

Dressed up for trick or treating.

The boys and the famous Angel de Independencia.
They liked this one... not so creepy as some.

Blowfish!

A more traditional Dia de los Muertos display and altar.
This one was made with toys and squirt guns.
A dragon parrot?
Kitty!
The angel lit up with pink for breast cancer awareness in October.  It really was beautiful!
Play time with little buddies!
Some of my friends from Bible study wearing our "pink" shirts!

My plate is too small.

I have a lot going on right now. Homeschooling, of course, I'm taking physics (not recommended) and world history, we are  preparing for an international move (and we aren't sure where we are going but we are leaving Mexico), hub's job change, Bible study, my poor husband was sick all weekend, we are celebrating Nikolas' fifth birthday, ugh, there must be more.
I have been very overwhelmed with a lot of anxiety and emotions. I have been turning to food and have gained a few pounds back. I know God has it all figured out and I know He will provide for our family. If I didn't know that I would be in a padded room. Sometimes I am really close to that but then I step back and I give it to God. I can feel my shoulders lift and it feels good. I wish I could stop taking it back though.

Basilica de Guadalupe

The new, modern cathedral

Another building that is sinking.

This is the infamous Cathedral of Guadalupe that is sinking! It is hard to tell in the pictures but hubs said it is about six feet lower near the front entrance than in the back. Amazing. It is a beautiful place with gardens and other buildings to visit. From the top of the hill you can see the whole city.

Weeks 5 and 6

We did some book work, I swear. But we also had some fun! We returned, with some good friends, to Africam Safari in Puebla, Mexico. We drove through all the animals like a safari, got to feed the wallabies, and chased emus. Then we visited the pyramid and church in Cholulua. And then, we took dad to the Papalote or Children's museum here in Mexico City. Lots of fun and great learning experiences, too.
