G to make your GCash experience safer and better with these important tips

G to make your GCash experience safer and better with these important tips

GCash is assisting its users in achieving their objectives while maintaining the app's security throughout the year 2023.

To make sure #GSafeTayo this 2023, here are important and easy-to-remember tips so users can better protect their accounts:

Tip 1: Do not click suspicious links. GCash will never send you any links through SMS, emails, and messaging apps! Be alert. Avoid clicking these links, and immediately report to Gigi on the GCash Help Center (help.gcash.com).

Tip 2: Never share your MPIN or one-time password (OTP). Scammers often pose as a GCash representative or a friend to trick you into giving your OTP. Remember that your MPIN or OTP are only for you, no one else!

Tip 3: Only do GCash-related transactions within the app. Some scammers use similar-looking phishing sites to ask customers to verify their accounts or log-in. Beware of this scamming scheme! When asked to verify or log-in, only do so on the GCash app.

Tip 4: Don't forget to register your SIM card. With the new SIM Card Registration Act in effect, make sure you have already registered with your telecommunications provider before the April 28 deadline. Also be wary of scam or spam messages posing as registration portals. Make sure you only share your personal information in the legitimate links of telecom providers.

Explore the GCash app's numerous services! GSave, GInvest, and GInsure are additional digital financial solutions that are available to help you grow your money or fund your passions in addition to the useful send and receive money features.

You are also contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions when you use the app. When you use the app's cashless services, you can participate actively in supporting reforestation efforts by collecting "green energy points" through the app's interactive GForest platform.

A virtual tree that GCash and its partners can plant on your behalf is equivalent to your green points.

Pasig City partners with GCash in cashless payments thrust

“The local government of Pasig is very happy to enter into this MOA (memorandum of agreement) with you. Siguro sasamantalahin ko na rin ‘yung pagkakataon to make sure that we are all on the same page. Tayo po ay tungo sa digitalization, tayo po ay tungo po sa smart city model.” ~Mayor Vico Sotto, Pasig City Mayor
From left: GCash account manager Jamie Tiu, head of public sector and partnerships Lhen Pavia, head of enterprise and public sector Luigi Reyes, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, district representative Cong. Roman Romulo, City Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworski Jr., and  City Administrator Atty. Jeronimo Manzanero

The nationwide leader in e-wallets, GCash, and the City Government of Pasig have collaborated to implement the QR Ph program at the Pasig City Mega Market. Market vendors, tricycle operators, and drivers will be able to provide their customers with digital payment options that are safer and more convenient thanks to this.

Public market vendors and tricycle drivers at Pasig City Mega Market can now easily use the GCash QR to conduct business with customers and passengers thanks to this partnership. In addition, in honor of the launch, GCash offered customers exciting GTreats for a week—a Piso Pizza Slice and a Piso Halo-Halo—when they paid with GCash.

The partnership was formalized during a recent event that was graced by the key Pasig City government officials namely City Mayor Vico Sotto, City Vice Mayor Dodot Jaworksi, Jr., Congressman Roman Romulo, City Councilor Simon Romulo Tantoco, City Councilor and Chairman of the committee on Market Rosalio Martires, City Administrator Atty. Jeronimo Manzanero, officer-in-charge, Pasig Public Market Administration Joseph Vincent Pastor Molina, and officer-in-charge, Management Information Systems Office John Carlo Fatallo. They were also joined by representatives from the GCash team namely Head of Enterprise and Public Sector Luigi Reyes, Cluster Head of Public Sector and Partnerships Cathlyn Pavia, Team Lead for LGU Rose Abarquez, and Account Manager Jamie Tiu.

In accordance with the BSP and DILG's PalengQR PH initiative, GCash is looking forward to forming additional partnerships with other local government units in addition to the Pasig City partnership.

Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) launched Paleng-QR Ph in June to expand the country's digital payments ecosystem and promote cashless QR transactions among market vendors, community shopkeepers, and tricycle drivers.

GCash is constantly looking for more opportunities to empower more Filipinos, particularly the unbanked sector throughout the region, and to push for the acceptance of digital payments among market vendors, community shopkeepers, tricycle operators, and drivers in all cities and municipalities in the Philippines. This is in line with its vision of pushing "Finance for All."
