Farm Babies

Its spring finally! That means new babies at the farm!

New chicks...

DIY Mason Jar Herb Garden

We love love love cooking with fresh herbs around here! My favorite thing to do is snip the little leaves right from the plants as I'm throwing a meal together. Another love of mine is mason jars...yes, I even have a Pinterest board just for mason jar ideas...so combining the two things seemed only natural. My hubby was the one who came up with the idea to make mini chalkboards to use as the labels(he's so crafty!)..I know, I'm a lucky girl!

Burp Cloths Part II {sewing}

I have been on a sewing roll as I prep for our little man's impending arrival!

We are at the 35 week mark which means only a couple weeks until I'm full term!!  Wowza!

I spent the last week and a half teaching myself some basic sewing...it started off pretty rough, but by the time I was done making 12...count them TWELVE burp cloths, I pretty much worked out all the kinks and they don't look half bad! Yay me!
Don't you just love these!??

Pig Tales {farm life}

Since we didn't go to any yard sales this week I thought I would give you a little peek into why my blog is called "Dimples & Pig Tales"...not Pigtails...lol. Confusing? Hope not!

To help tell the story I shot some pictures earlier this week at the farm :)

This would be the "Dimples" part...my cute little Ellery and her huge dimples...actually she has four sets...cheeks, knees, elbows and above her little tushy! Adorable! She gets her dimples from me{I am not as fortunate to have as many....just cheeks for me!} so I thought it was a pretty good reason to use Dimples as part of my blog name!

The "Pig Tales" part of the blog name comes from our farm that we run with my brother an sister-in-law.

Meet some at the characters of the farm...

This is Norman the Bull...my nieces in Oregon are responsible for him.

This is Belle, the calf, she was born on my Sweet Angel Averie's birthday <3

This is Gus, my brother and sister-in-laws dog. He's awesome and pretty much the coolest dog ever...shhh....don't tell my dogs that.

and the pigs...
These are some of the pigs that we had from our spring litter...pretty sure a few of these will be competing at the Bonner County Fair in a few weeks!
 Prize pigs maybe??

and this is Sue...
or maybe its Shirley...?
I can't tell them apart. Does that make me a bad pig mom? probably...lol, all I know is that she's a momma pig and she has mighty fine looking babies.

There are a few other critters that I don't have pics of yet...some ducks...a lot of chickens and our mama cow Buttercup. I'll update this post as I get some pictures!

Look! My little Dimples helping with the Pigs...

Dimples and Pig Tales!

Farm Eggs

I painted up this little sign yesterday.

Its for out at the farm and I love it!

Lets just say that before I got my hands on this sign it wasn't exactly, well...it wasn't really very attractive. My bro-in-law had quickly painted it since I was busy at the hospital and I always teased him that it looked like he had written it in his own blood! Pretty terrible!
When I went to the farm a couple days ago the sign was laying on the ground. I figured it was as good a time as any to grab it and give it a makeover.
Because we need it back up pretty quick I totally forgot to get any of the before pictures..sad day!

This will be used with the future farm sign...currently in the planning phase! Stay tuned! Its going to be my biggest yet!!
