Winners for Challenge #196 - Celtic Forests

Faith and begorrah, we had some lush and lovely green and suede designs this time! Aye, and your Design Team Leprechauns had to break out our shillelaghs in order to come to a consensus over the winners. And here they are:

Our Top Pick is: Renee Daley

We loved the rustic feel of Renee's card and the dapper rooster, all in green, echoing the green pops of colour on the rest of the card! The use of the Crackle Paint background stamp adds such a sense of texture and the stapled ribbon is another lovely rustic touch, in keeping with the country feel of the project. It’s a delight!

And our Featured Artist is: Joanne James

That clever little frog jumping for joy with the spring behind him is so creative! The choice of designer papers were a great use of the Challenge colours! Wasn't it Kermit the Frog who sang, "It's not easy being green!"? Well, Joanne just made it look good with her colouring skills! Nailed it!!

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new sketch challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Challenge #196 - Celtic Forests!

Are you ready for another luscious colour challenge? This one would work for either St. Patrick's Day or for a masculine or woodsy, leafy kind of project, so I've called it Celtic Forests! Take a look at the banner:

Let's find out how the Design Team used the palette we were given:

Here are some guidelines for the challenge:

  • Create any card, scrapbooking page, 3D project or packaging   project that fits the challenge.
  • Stampin Up colours are used for reference but any matching colours are welcome. You can use black/neutral for outlines and sentiments but don’t use any other colours.
  • Please include the challenge graphic and link back to the   challenge in your blog post. Turn off word verification so we   can send you lots of feedback. Make sure you link the post not the whole blog to the Linky. Use #AYSI196 when uploading to a public gallery.

Winners for Challenge #185 - Coolness

Cool,cool,cool,cool-cool,cool! (If you're a Brooklyn99 fan you'll know where that phrase comes from!) That describes all the entries in our Colour Challenge last time! So much coolness! But there were two entries that broke through all Cool Limits and left the Design Team breathless! Here they are:

Our Top Pick is: Ingen

We were smitten with Ingen's little splattered bird and her clean and crisp-looking design! All the colours of the challenge were used in such a natural, organic way! It just goes to show you how a little splash of colour can make a big impact!

And our Featured Artist is: Gail Peters

Gail gets an A for creativity! There are so many elements to mention! The gorgeous misted background, the lifted and offset frame center, the leaf fronds echoing the background design and the layered look on the sentiment! The Design Team just loved the beautiful way Gail displayed our Colour Challenge!

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new sketch challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

As You See It Challenge #185 - Coolness

I've always been kind of partial to blues, greens and teals, so this palette is really appealing to me. In fact, it's the epitome of coolness! Right? So let's see how cool you are. Enjoy!

Challenge #179 - Warmth

I just get warm all over when I look at these colours! It reminds me of seeking out the sunny spots in the garden and lifting your face to the sun and just soaking up those sun's rays for a few minutes, letting your whole body warm! But they're also great colours for flowers, or sunsets! You be the judge! Let's see what you come up with.

Let's find out how the Design Team used the palette we were given:

Amy didn't have a card for us this week but there is an incredible reason why. Please click on her link to find out what she's been up to!

Winners for Challenge #172 - Serenity

An amazing collection of the serene and the sublime in your entries from our last challenge #172! I don't know about you, but that colour palette is definitely one that I'm going to pin away for future reference! In the meantime, here are our two winners:

Our Top Pick is: Ingen

Ingen's card is a lovely example of how to create your own designer paper. She used the pale Powder Pink colour to stamp the bird images in the background and then used the very saturated Tranquil Tide ink to stamp the focal image and sentiment right over top! With a sweet, white Baker's twine bow and a gray backing, she created a whimsically attractive greeting card.

And our Featured Artist is: Amy Koenders

By combining the challenge colours with a neutral copper, Amy designed a beautiful spring birthday card. The Design Team loved how she sponged the Powder Pink onto the white and copper designer paper and then backed the front panel with copper foil. The images and sentiment are embossed in copper and coloured in beautifully, and we loved the overall elegance of the result.

Congratulations to our winners and thanks to everyone who played along! I hope you'll come back and check out our new sketch challenge tomorrow! Our winners can pick up their badges on this page and display them with pride on their blogs or sites.

Challenge #172 - Serenity

Aren't these three colours just the most peaceful to look at? I think they are perfect for a bedroom! And a bedroom is the perfect place for Serenity! If you don't have these exact Stampin' Up colours, you just need to use the colours you have that are closest to them, plus another neutral if you like. Have fun with it!

Let's find out how the Design Team used the palette we were given:

Christmas Cookies - Challenge #164

Have you been icing Christmas cookies lately? What colours did you use for your icing? Isn't this just the most delicious looking colour palette ever? I've been playing around with it for a few days, and the more I work with it, the more I love it! It's not a traditional Christmas colour combination, but you can do so much with it! Your project doesn't have to have a Christmas theme, or a cookie theme, you just need to use the colours you have that are closest to these three, plus a neutral if you like. Have fun with it!
