How to Have Healthier Hair for the New Year

My hair is TRASH.

Hahahah.  What a way to call my own hair right?  I am honest.  My hair is one of my concern since I was a teenager.  I remembered saving up my allowance to buy hair care products.

I was born with unhealthy hair.  Kinky texture, dry and brittle.

So I spent my whole life taking care of it to look as decent as today.  Whatever you see today - even if it's still dry - is the best of my hair's ability! :P

So to those who want to know what I've been doing - or using, here are some of my top products that I have purchased and repurchased.

Healthy hair starts with healthy roots.

I seem to have thick hair, but you are definitely tricked by the illusion of thick hair!  I have a lot of hairfall and my super patient husband is already complaining!

"Have your scalp checked and use something!!!" - yup!  That's from him!

I did purchased a lot of hair thickening products, a lot of them are greasy, and worst, smells super bad!  SO obviously, I got lazy and did not even bother to do something about it.

Thankfully, I discovered Hairreve Hair Thickening Serum - when the brand says Hair Rescue, well, it is true!  I have a huge blob of "thinning hair area" making my hair looks thicker on one side and super thin on another side.  I used this spritz bottle after every shower and spritz all over my scalp and massage.

Can I tell you a secret?  I was even trying to save this product so I only spritz (sometimes) on the thinning hair area and I can't seem to find that area anymore after finishing up the whole body!  I was amazed!!!!

Best of all, the product is NON-greasy, smells SUPER GOOD and best of all IT WORKED.  It really worked!

Strengthen your Hair
Especially when you love to use styling tools!  The constant blowdry, curling, straightening will put a huge toll to your hair.  I find my hair to be more brittle when I was trying out different hairstyles using various hair tools!

So today, I can't seem to use any heat styling tools without protecting it with a product.

Hair Care Tips at Home

My hair?

Sensitized, dry, frizzy and unmanageable.  It has been like that for the whole period of pandemic because I can’t go to a salon to have my hair treated.  After a year plus of struggling with tangled and hard to manage hair (especially after shower), I’ve decided to do something to keep my hair, and my sanity, in place!

Hair care tips at home

This tutorial looks tedious and parang ang daming products! BUT, trust me, I saw better hair results in a week’s time!

Haircare is a Must!

Products used:
@yvesrocherph Anti-Frizz Serum for detangling
@kerastase_official resistence Cream for heat protectant
* Kérastase Resistance Extentioniste Sérum for scalp care
@prostylefuwarie_ph Hair Mist Straight (check out how I apply this!)
* Kerastase Discipline Oleo Relax Oil (to seal the shine)

Hair care tips at home

I have to remind you to use the right hair tools!  Wide-toothed comb for wet hair.  Once your hair is almost dry, you can use a Boar Brush to brush and hair will looks shinier and fuller!

Fuwarie Straight and Curl - An Update!

YES AN UPDATE because FINALLY, a haircare product heard my woes!  I was just telling my husband about a heat-protectant product that protects and keep the style of my hair!

I am not surprised Prostyle Fuwarie made such product because I used to purchase these from Japan and hoard them because I can only find a few hair care products that I like locally!

Fuwarie Hair Styling Mist for Curl and Straight both can do the following:
  • Protect hair from heat up to 180 degrees
  • Adds Moisture to your hair and prevents moisture loss.
  • Keep hairstyle looking great the entir day!
  • Repairs hair damage on the inside and outside with Gloss Repair and Argan Oil.
  • UV Protection!

I always blowdry my hair beause I have loads of hair!  I usually wash my hair EVERY SINGLE NIGHT before I go to bed,, that said, I need to use hairdryer as I can’t lay on the pillow with wet hair!  Before blowdrying, I give a good spritz all over my hair before I blowdry.  Hair is easier to comb and manage TBH!

I also like to curl my hair at times before an online event or meeting just to look “made up”.  I like how my curls look more natural and less-drying.

Prostyle Fuwarie Curl Styling Mist (For Curly and Bouncy Hairstyle) Review

I have used the Prostyle Fuwarie Hairstyling Mist (For Airy Bob Style) for months now and been loving it!  Having a "bob" look is nice but I missed curling my hair back when my hair was still long!  Now that I'm starting to grow my hair longer for me to be able to style my hair, I've decided to use the Prostyle Fuwarie Curl Styling Mist For Curly and Bouncy Hairstyle!

Okay, my hair is still short so curling it using a small curling iron is not my thing as of the moment, so I've decided to use my 1.5 inch curling iron to create "bouncy" hairstyle instead and I've been doing that each time I let my hair down as pregnancy hormones made my hair limp and boring!

AMW Reviews: Prostyle Fuwarie Hairstyling Mist (For Airy Bob Hairstyle)

Hair product review!  Who's excited?  Well, I know I'm OBVIOUSLY one excited little girl when it comes to hair products!  Recently, I received 2 wonderful products from our friends from Prostyle Fuwarie Philippines --- The Fuwarie Curly and Bouncy Hairstyle (left white packaging) and the Fuwarie for Airy Bob Hairstyle (right purple packaging).

As you all know, I've been a heat-protectant spray user for years and I've been stocking up on Lucido-L Designing Aqua Hair Curl Lotion on my trips abroad.  With me being pregnant and having Baby AMW  pretty soon, traveling won't be part of the plan so I'm not sure what to do when I'm done with my Lucido-L backups, I can never iron or curl my hair without any heat protectant spray and searching for a good alternative may take some time!  So isn't it a perfect timing to find this famous Japanese brand Prostyle Fuwarie locally?

I've decided to use one product at a time to see the effect and I actually stopped using other hair serums or oils and I'm ready to report the for Airy Bob Hairstyle product which is also called the End Curling Mist!

AMW says ---
Pros
  • Housed in a cute packaging with a twist "open and close" spray bottle which is great if you tote this along during travel!
  • Very easy to use.
  • Smells great!
  • Hair feels light and non-greasy all day.
  • Flat iron goes on smoothly on each hair section.
  • Hair doesn't feel or look dry after ironing.
  • The hair remains good as styled for the whole day.
Cons
  • None
Overall
I may not see the effect of using Prostyle Fuwarie Hairstylist Mist with a microscope but I can definitely feel the positive effects of using one.  For one, ironing feels a bit easier as the flat iron glides on smoother as compared to not using Prostyle Fuwarie.  Second, the ends of my hair remains curled and "airy" for the whole day without the greasy/oily feel.

Tips
  • To create airy bob hairstyle, you can choose to use a flat iron, hair dryer or curling iron.
  • There are flat irons available in the market that can be used on both wet and dry hair but I highly recommend to flat iron your hair when dry!
  • To create "end curl", spray mist all over hair but concentrate on spraying more on the ends where you apply more heat.
  • To create volume, spray mist all over here and section your hair and spray a bit more at the center of your hair shaft.
  • After spraying your hair with Prostyle Fuwarie Hairstylist Mist, run your fingers through your hair for product to 'set'.
  • If possible, use a clarifying shampoo at least once a week to remove excess hairstyling products that could weigh down your hair.
Will I repurchase?
Yes!

To whom do I recommend this to?
Anyone who uses heat styling tools!

Where to purchase and how much?
Available at beauty Bar nationwide for Php450.00 (approx $11.25).  Like Prostyle Fuwarie Philippines on Facebook.

Locally, the Prostyle Fuwarie End Curling Mist for Airy Bob Hairstyle comes with English instructions and product details.

The Open and Close Nozzle

On days I just want to curl the ends of my hair, I concentrate on spraying the hairstyling mist at the mid-section down to the ends of my hair as shown on photo below.  This way, I save the rest of my hair from harsh heat.

To create end curl:
I use my trustee flat iron and curl starting from the mid-section of my hair to the tip with an inward curl motion.

I like to scrunch my hair just to create "volume"

Before and After using Prostyle Fuwarie Hairstyling Mist
for Airy Bob Hairstyle
Without hair styling tools, my hair could go as flat as the photo shown on the left side of photo below.  I prefer using blow dryer, curling iron or flat iron to create curls on a daily basis so using a heat protectant mist is very important to keep my hair healthy and shiny.

Overall, I am glad to have found a product that works and is available locally!
