Glossy Brown Lips is My Thing!

 

Remember when matte brown lipsticks are super "in" in the 90's?

My friend who came from Canada gifted me with a gorgeous matte brown lipstick from MAC Cosmetics.  It was so beautiful but my lips were the same as today - dry and parched.  And it was not a great sight to see matte brown lipstick on a dry lips!

Fast forward to 2022, I still have my dreams of looking like a cool kid in the 90's.  And a lot of 90's fashion are coming back anyway right?  And guess what?  I finally found a brown lipstick that would look great on me!  And to YOU who also have dry lips like I do!  Let's all raise our arms and thank the makeup heaven!

Thankfully, this comes in a lot of shades to choose from and each tube is formulated with Vitamin C and E that is why it is very comfortable to wear.  

Don't be tricked though as they have 3 types of finishes - Cream, Pearl and Shimmer.  So you really need to check out various swatches online or probably look for a Mary Kay agent locally so you can try on testers.

This shade goes up to my favorite brown lipstick list - there's NONE!  As I only have a few to almost NONE as of the moment to call as my favorite.  So yes, this tops them all!

Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas: Take A Peek On What Makes Me Happy!

I know my Christmas Shopping Ideas pop in and out like a mushroom!  I'm so sorry for that!  As you can obviously see and feel, I am on a panic mode, most of the gifts have been wrapped and sent but I still have a long way to go!  Relatives, friends and more gatherings are still pouring in!  This made me realize, I have good amount of friends!  #hahahaha

As a busy individual (Note: I'm not talking about just being a busy mom so this tutorial is for EVERYONE!)  I know on most days, I only have less than 5 minutes to do my makeup so if you can see my photo collage below, you can see the key products I use.. can you spot them?

That's why when I was challenged by Mary Kay Philippines to create my own version of #MaryKayBeautyOnTheGo looks using these....

...it doesn't feel like a challenge at all, because this is how I usually wear my makeup!

To start with, I usually spot conceal areas around my face that needed coverage, that's the undereye area and red spots on the sides of my nose.

I like to use a lightweight press powder and for this tutorial, I used Mary Kay On-The-Go Mineral Pressed Powder in Ivory 2 (Php699.00).  There isn't much coverage on this but it sets my concealer pretty well and I like the fact that this is mineral-based so it's safe even around kids.

Pinky Pink Sweet/Vampy Look for the Love Month

Something New: Mary Kay Skinvigorate Cleansing Brush and Foaming Cleanser in PURPLE!

Do you still remember my initial thoughts on the Mary Kay's newest Skinvigorate Cleansing Brush?  I have been constantly using it for the past year at least once a week especially on days that I put on heavy makeup!  It really does the job in removing ALL traces of makeup plus dirt and grime!  And the best part for dry skin out there?  It doesn't dry out my skin as I expected!  

It is the fact that the product comes with 2 settings, I always use the low setting because I also have thin and sensitive skin (as opposed to my thick-faced nature!  LOL)  And I always follow with a heavy cream at night when I go to bed to re-hydrate my skin from all the lost moisture.

They are new and fresh from my radar so I had to really test them out and let you know my thoughts.

I love them!  They are perfect for daily use!  It doesn't hurt that the pan comes with a matte cheek color and a pearlized highlighting shade --- you all know by know how I"m obsessed with highlighting powders right?  

How To: Give Yourself a Subtle Makeover!

You know how it is when you do your makeup on a daily basis and you wished you will look at least a bit different on special days?

Well, you can!  And that doesn't entail you to pile on MORE makeup, instead, try to be adventurous and do something different, change a bit of your "usual" makeup routine.

Okay...let me think...I usually like to wear bright lipstick sans eye makeup!  So, if I plan to go on a special event or I need to have my photo taken and I wanted to look nice....this is my game plan to change the way I look..in a very subtle manner.

1.  I normally wear concealer then set with powder.  For a change, I'll go for full yet still a natural-looking coverage.
2. Instead of the usual thick brows, I'll leave my brows looking natural and soft.  No harsh lines there!  
3. I will wear a bit more eye makeup.
4. Instead of the usual dark lips, I'll go for very light colored lipstick! 
5. I tend to shy away frome xtremely pink colored blush, so I'll use it this time!

But please..don't ask me to remove the highlighting part..it is my favorite! Just give it to me okay? :P

Lipsticks For The Day: Mary Kay True Dimension Sheer Lipsticks in Subtly You and Magenta Chill

Good day everyone!  So today, you will finally see my forehead!  *laughs*  Seriously, I haven't been comfortable showing my forehead because they are quite "huge"!  (That explains why I'm brainy!  *winks*)  From nursery to college or even when I was working, I seldom pulled my bangs back like the photo below so think of this post as a "treat" for you my dear readers! :P  You guys are special! 

 On a serious note, I think I am of age wherein I openly accept my flaws!  I guess, I am super comfortable in my own skin now because I'm married!  #harharhar  Okay, I'm joking again, but I guess confidence comes not only of age but confidence comes when you start to love and accept yourself!  I accepted the idea that I'm no "artista" and won't ever be a "model material" but I accepted the fact that God gave me all "functional" body parts and I am very happy and grateful for that!  

Yeah, it's obviously a CHOOSE-Day and I'm making this choice to be all positive!

Back to my Lipsticks!  (Whew!)  That was a long intro huh?

AMW Reviews: Mary Kay at Play™ Dual-End Shadow & Liner

Hi AMW friends!  Yesterday was such a challenging day for me!  I was all positive of sorts in the earlier week but I was woken up around 5am because my son was sick with fever and he has diarrhea (sorry to those who are eating as of the moment).  Now I understand what most of my mommy friends would say: "It hurts even more for mommies!".  

*sigh*

Setting all worries aside, (well trying to), the show will go on and I will share my review of the newest multi-tasking product I received from Mary Kay Philippines.  

The Mary Kay At Play Shadow & Liner comes in a double-sided "twist-able" packaging.  One side is the colored shadow while the other side works as a liner. 

Available locally in 3 shades: Rebel Rose, Mint to Be and Iced Lilac.  I got Rebel Rose for review.

AMW Reviews: Mary Kay Endless Performance Creme-to-Powder Foundation

So it's Tuesday today and I'm off for several meetings!  God is really good!  So before I go, I'll leave you with a review on my most recent foundation from Mary Kay!  If you have noticed on my previous "photo-torial", I used Mary Kay's newest Endless Performance Creme-to-Powder Foundation because the weather was really hot at that time so I've decided to use the least amount of makeup as possible and the Mary Kay one is cream-to-powder letting me skip a step or 2.  (Concealer and Powder).

After using this product several times, I'm ready to share my thoughts on this.  Please keep in mind that I got this as press sample so this is a "refill packaging" so if you purchase the compact itself, it won't look like this.

Tuesday Choose Day!
I choose to look a bit pretty today with the help of make up!  You know what?  I saw a couple of posts on my Facebook wall on how men dislike women who wear make up!  Well, I'm sorry guys!  We "confident" women wear make up not for YOU but for ourselves!  We want to look and feel good because that's how we are!  Well, to some who wants to look good for the opposite sex using make up...well, that's their thing!  So kebs kebs lang! :D

In short, I just typed in a whole useless paragrah!  Hahahah

Seriously, after creating a "brow tutorial using brow pencil", I got inspired to create a makeup look that I can't seem to create a name for it!  So, my usual crazy self would echo: "Catwalk to Sidewalk Look". 

In short: From Glam makeup to everyday "wearable" makeup look!  You guys know me pretty well, I am all for creating simple makeup looks that would enhance your beauty --- not by covering it with make up!

Good morning AMW Friends!  I have something "Multi-tasking" to share as of the moment!  Remember Mary Kay at Play™?  If you don't, well, they are the more "teeny-boppy" version of their makeup line!  The first Mary Kay at Play™ products I got to try is their eyeshadows which are really good by the way, so I'm glad they went a step (or two) further! 

Everybody loves multi-tasking product!  Why?  We're all getting busier by the minute and I can't imagine doing a full 30 minutes makeup routine on a daily basis!  So when Mary Kay Philippines launched their Lip & Cheek Stick and a Dual-End Shadow & Liner (review soon!), I knew I have to grab and try one!

Skincare Talk: Creating Radiant, Glowing Skin

It has now been the most asked query on my mailbox on how to achieve healthy, radiant glowing skin!  YAY!  Finally!  I am so happy my readers are starting to take notice the importance of skincare, which by the way, I always stress when I do workshops!

I've tried all 4 but my favorite for instant glow is the "Yellow Energy Mask".  This variant comes with Orange (Vitamin C) that helps in creating GLOW.

Tony Moly Ferment Snail Toner

This is a gold snail secretion filtrate ampoule toner specialized in skin recovery and care!  Okay, the mere fact of having anything "snail" is a bit new for me, I know it came out like a "craze" in Korea and everyone loves "snail" related skincare product!  I have to be honest with you, this is my first but I am actually looking forward to inject this on my normal skincare regimen!  This feels really nice on skin, gives instant moisture to my dry skin!

Just like most Asian Skincare products, I like to dispense a good amount on my hand and pat it on my face for better absorption.
