Kate Tokyo Lip Monster Review (107, 108, 109)

 OH MY GOODNESS!

SOLD OUT not only locally in the Philippines but even in Japan when this was launched!  And after using these for multiple times for the past months, I understand why!

Just by looking at the packaging, you can actually tell the shade of the lip product, whatever the color of the cute Monsters, that is the exact color you’ll get inside the tube!  Very smart and witty!

Shade: 107

Medium burgundy-red lipcolor.

I used to see my mom wear this lip color and she still does until this very day!  When I was younger, I thought of this shade as an “ahjumma” shade but it changed when you changed the formulatioin.  Making this more “moist”, “tender” and “juicy” this turn into a GEN Z lipstick immediately.

Shade 108
Bright Orange Red shade

I orinally disliked this shade when I swiped it on my lips once.  It looks unnatural, patchy and just weird.  But after applying more of this color, it started to melt right into the lipls blurring out lip lines making my lips appear plumpand juicy!  I was thinking about SUGUS Orange immediately and it actually look cute and youthful on me!

Shade 109

Medium Brown

My MOST favorite shade out of the 3 they released!  This is the kind of brown that made me look Classy and just made up even with minimal makeup on!  Imagine 90s brown lipstick that turned GLOSSY?  So perfect!  I have been using and abusing this color since I got this!

Though these were limited and released last year, I recently went on to Japan trip and saw some stores still selling these Lip Monsters.  You can also check online as there are a few of them left!  So if you get the chance, grab on to them because these are the limited version we hope will forever be available in the market!

Kate Tokyo 2024 Look

I love it sometimes when I use just ONE Brand for my whole face!  When Kate Tokyo releases their Spring 2024 makeup collection, I grabbed a few for the eyes, cheeks and lips and here's what I have created.

Kate Tokyo 2024 Look using all new releases of Kate Tokyo Spring 2024 Philippines

Because of this look I created, I have been a fan of Glossy Makeup look and it was because of the Kate Tokyo Lip Monster which is super hydrating lipstick that I used on my cheeks since I didn't get my hands on new blush powder this year's collection.  It was a blessing in disguise as I've found a better way to apply Lip Monster - both cheeks and lips and it looks amazing!

Sakura Inspired Makeup look with Kate Tokyo Red Nude Rouge

Hi everyone!
I am on fire when it comes to makeup looks!

I guess it's the pandemic that made me want to keep myself busy, to do the things I love and want to do so I will keep my thoughts away from the stress of the pandemic.

I know, some may say: "What? Who would wear makeup?"
ME!

Sakura Inspired Makeup look with Kate Tokyo Red Nude Rouge

I don't go out, I went out totally 2 times ever since March 2020 but hey, I admit, I wear makeup and fix my hair at home!  You can obviously see that on my IG Stories and posts.  It makes me sane...it makes me happy.  I'm not sure if you feel the same.

Sakura Inspired Makeup look with Kate Tokyo Red Nude Rouge

Sometimes, I get inspired to create a specific look based from a new makeup item.  Kate Tokyo recently launched their newest lipstick line called Red Nude Rouge and I am loving it!  I usually get inspired to wear a specific lip color based from the eye makeup but it seems like I am more inspired to create this eye makeup look after trying out these exciting red lip colors!

Kate The Base Zero Powdery Skin Maker Foundation Review

When Kate Tokyo launched their The Base Zero line, I tested the first product I wanted to try first and it got thumbs up from me --- Kate Tokyo The Base Zero Secret Skin  Maker Zero Powder Foundation and the next product I wanted to test is their Liquid Foundation and I'm so happy I was able to get my hands on this!

KATE's newly developed foundation, THE BASE ZERO covers all problematic areas in one coat.It blends right into skin and all heaviness  disappears.
The secret is... a high coverage & smooth formulation.Ingredients that offer high coverage, while easily sliding onto skin, minimize the coverage layer as much as possible.  The results is a finish with no heaviness.

Easy Shadow Look Inspired by Kate Tokyo!

Do you currently own an eyeshadow palette you can't seem to use up?
I know I've thrown a couple of palettes away with shades I didn't even touch!  So sad right?

That said, I am keeping more of those palettes that are small, straightforward and most importantly...I can use them on a daily basis!

One brand that I have been using a daily basis is Kate Tokyo and out of all the palettes they came up with, this new one called Smoky Round Eyes (php720.00) really struck me the most because I literally use all the shades in this palette whenever I use it!

GN-1
This is a great and unique alternative to those into nudes and browns.  To those who don't know, moss green is actually a great shade or alternative to browns for most Filipinas especially with brown eyes.  It makes your eye color pop more and it looks great on warm undertone.

Kate 3D Eyebrow Color Review

I used to hoard brow mascaras abroad as I can NEVER find natural-looking ones locally!  But thankfully, when #KilayIsLife hashtag was invented, more and more brow products are made available in the local scene and I'm glad because I don't need to have my brother purchase them for me in Hong Kong.

Now, one of the brand that is known to give the most natural-looking makeup looks, Kate Tokyo came up with their own brow mascara called Kate 3D Eyebrow Color, I knew I had to get one!

a photo of Kate 3D Eyebrow Color Review

Housed in a typical brow mascara packaging, I actually like how simple the Kate 3D Eyebrow Color packaging is.  You see the brow mascara shade at the center of the tube.  A peek-a-boo tube will always be welcomed!

Kate Tokyo Super Sharp Liner EX Review

How does eyeliner change the way your eyes look?
SO MUCH!

Aside from fixing my brows, I make it to a point to use eyeliner whether liquid pencil or gel on a daily basis!  Well, when we're talking about "on a daily basis" meaning: "RUSH" I always opt for Liquid Eyeliner because I can easily apply them in seconds (per eye) and rush out and look like I've done huge effort in making myself look presentable.

One of the few brands I depend on when it comes to liquid liners are: K-Palette and Lifeford.  And I think after trying this particular Super Sharp Liner from the Japenese Brand Kate Tokyo, I knew this has got to be part of my top 3!

Kate Tokyo has the "normal sized" liquid liner pen called Super Sharp Liner (minus the EX) and I have tried it in the past and it works really well!

But today, I am reviewing an EX version which means, more precise, sharper and just easier for me to draw a very thin and natural line and I also use this to create "fake lashes" to make my lashes both upper and lower part appear thicker.

Kate Tokyo The Base Zero Secret Skin Maker Zero Powder Foundation Review

It has always been Asian-made base makeup that I find works for my skin to achieve that smooth, flawless and inner-glow!  When my favorite base makeup brand Paul & Joe left the country *sniff* I knew I had to look for alternatives and surprisingly, I found it in Kate Tokyo.

Giving you a bit of my secret, I use Kate Mineral Powder Foundation as my final step when I do Bridal makeup.  It gives the instant glow without the "cement look".

When Kate Tokyo recently launched their The Base Zero line, I immediately tested their Secret Skin Maker Zero Powder Foundation even if it is meant for Oil Control (not for my dry skin)

New The Base Zero From Kate

I have always loved Japanese base makeup.  I remembered investing highly on Paul & Joe makeup (which is a Japanese brand) way before I entered makeup school and has been using "Japanese branded base makeup" for Bridal clients because they give the most natural-looking, delicate coverage.

Since Paul & Joe is far gone locally, I have always been on a lookout for a good "base" and Kate Tokyo actually got into the list of my "to-go-to" base makeup choices when it comes to client #TrueStory  That's why when I got an invite to learn about their newest The Flawless Skin, Zero line --- a line that gives finish with no hint of heaviness.  I knew I had to be there even if I just got back from sickness.

"The Flawless Skin, Zero, was based on an original Kate idea of aiming for sufficient coverage without a cakey feeling rather than delicate coverage."

Kate Tokyo Black Feather Lash Review

Gosh, I haven't reviewed a single mascara this year!  I knew I had to, I've been using them but I get really "lukewarm" with all the mascaras I've reviewed not because they don't work, it's just because I am not blessed with "lushes" (aka lashes)

Castor Oil...do you work?

(Any feedback would be highly appreciated)

So I used the Kate Black Leather Lash until it dried out!  Yup, I used it so consistently I am sure I can give an in-depth review!  Though photos do not show how much my lashes appreciate the mascara, I actually do!  Please scroll further down to read more.

Kate Tokyo Makeup Lock Primer by Cover Review

I remembered several years ago when I started blogging.  Makeup primers are a hit on my favorite International Bloggers' sites.  In the Philippines, it was literally a huge "What's That?" makeup!  I remembered going through makeup counters asking SAs for "primers", and I always get that blank look!  Either that, or they give me a sunblock!  *hahaha*  Those were the good old times!

Fast forward to today, just how many primers are available in the market?  TOO MANY TO MENTION!  Even I get confused at times!  But what's not confusing for me is the fact that I finally found an oil-control primer that isn't too drying even for users with normal, combination or dry skin!  Housed in a simple black tube, it is called Kate Tokyo Long-Lasting Primer.

Kate Powdery Mousse BB Review

Last May, I was invited to an intimate gathering to know what Kate Tokyo has to offer.  One of the most requested product for an in-depth review is their newest face base makeup called Powder Mousse BB.

The Kate Powder Mousse BB is known for its light mousse texture that turns into powder.  BB mousse is actually highly recommended for users who wants to hide their pores and other skin problems.

It is housed in a glass packaging with 2 shades to offer as of date.
Shade on review: 02 Natural Color

Kate Tokyo Mineral Mask BB Cream Review

Typing about the Kate Toky Mineral Mask BB Cream reminds me so much on how I started Beauty Blogging!  From Ebay shopping for Korean and Japanese BB Creams and testing them out one by one, going bonkers over new BB cream brands over the other...yes, I'm made for the BB Cream age!  Thank you to whoever invented BB creams because they are indeed the "star" in my makeup arsenal!

Kate Mineral Mask BB Cream is known to cover dry skin and skin problems like a mask to give a porcelain finish.  I got a bit scared with the term "Like a Mask" so it took me a while to really wear this outside!

The shade I got for review is OC-C which is an exact match for my skin tone.

Kate Double Eyelid Remake Liner - Best Product to Define Your Crease

If you watched enough Youtube makeup videos and read enough makeup blogs, you probably mastered the art of creating defined crease or how to create fake crease from scracth.

Aside from makeup, we can also create fake crease or defined crease with the help of eyelid tape or glue.  (Ex. K-Palette Real Lasting Mega Cute Double Eyelid Glue and Tape)  Some of you may think the effect could be unnatural or it is just too much of a hassle to apply, TADAH!  I'm sharing one of the EASIEST way to define your crease with just a SINGLE STROKE!

Hail to KATE Double Eyelid Remake Liner!
Available in 1 color only
Php550.00 (approx $11.70)
a photo of Kate Double Eyelid Remake Liner

When I first got this, I almost tossed this aside because who would like to draw a fake line on top of your current crease?  The effect will definitely be a major "makeup disaster".  So just for fun, I "Snapped" (using SnapChat) a video of me using this for the first time.

And I was floored!!!  Now before sharing photos, let me start by sharing more details about the product.
